Jewish groups stand up against media lies about Muslims and police surveillance of Muslims

on 7 Comments

Donna Nevel of Jews Against Islamophobia coalition sent along a new video that is quite effective in its simple concern: justice and dignity for all communities.

Nevel can be seen in the ad at :50 saying, “I recommit myself to opposing the litmus test that determines who is an ‘acceptable’ Muslim based on their loyalty to the state of Israel.” Excellent point.

This video goes along with a new project of Jewish Voice for Peace, called the JVP Network Against Islamophobia. Here is part of the announcement:

We are so pleased to share with you our new, very short video–Jews Recommit to Standing Against Islamophobia.

While we have all been rightly concerned about the recent Islamophobic ads on NYC subways and buses, we recognize that Islamophobia extends far beyond those ads, and wanted to make that reality more visible within our community–the Jewish community– and more broadly.

Some of us from Jews Against Islamophobia have been part of initiating a new national network, J-NAI (Jewish Voice for Peace Network Against Islamophobia) that we hope will provide support and resources for those interested in organizing against Islamophobia and anti-Arab racism, and in making the connections between Islamophobia and Israel politics.

You can see the video and our new JNAI page by going to the following link:

We hope those watching the video will become inspired to take action together with the many, many individuals and groups inside and outside the Muslim community organizing against Islamophobia and standing for peace, for justice, and for dignity for all peoples.

    It’s horrible
    and it’s systematic
and if Jews were the target there would be outrage

People would be freaking out — and rightfully so — if two non-Jews were proclaiming on a mainstream media program just how much worse Judaism is than other religions and how it is the mother lode of bad ideas.

I am really frightened how the hatred of Muslims has been ginned up in the USA over the past few decades — particularly since 911. This is by design. I watch the mainstream media vilify them, I watch them being spied upon, arrested for material support for terrorism for saying things the government doesn’t like, I watch pundits call on them to denounce actions they had nothing to do with….I feel like I am living in early Nazi Germany. Maybe not so early. Then watch the cops gun down unarmed black men time and time again. America has the potential to be worse than Nazi Germany. Good people must stand up and be heard

” America has the potential to be worse than Nazi Germany””……Giles

I would have said not 5 years ago, even 2 or 3 years ago.
But now I see the possibility and if the US does go it will be more chaotic because it will be hyenas , wild dogs, lions and vultures all fighting over the same carcass.

It seems very possible to me too. There are too many people waiting for the apocalyptic moment to go batshit crazy all over and with all the weapons americans have at their disposal it will be a horror show. But I also think that has been the plan for a while now.

Something more serious ,more dangerous, and more destructive is shaping up in India . BJP has found out that the way to power has to be littered with the Muslim victims for a successful journey . Jewish power has lent the hand to this RSS ideologues whose founder admired Hitler and supported the Nazi attitude to the Jews.

Netanyahu sees common ideological grounds both in the current and the historical traditions between the two.
