‘If you challenge Israel’s security, you challenge America’s security. Plain and simple’ — Clinton

Hillary Clinton’s campaign website is progressive on a lot of things. But no change on Israel/Palestine. “If you challenge Israel’s security, you challenge America’s security. Plain and simple.” Israel gets three mentions, Palestine zero. Of course, earlier this week she pledged to fight boycott movement in a letter to a big donor. And she “is moving left on every issue except Israel,” says Haaretz.

Her website says, “America First,” on one page, then puts forward two pro-Israel planks under the rubric, “Defending America and our core values”:

Prevent a nuclear Iran:

America and our allies, especially Israel, will be safer if we end the nuclear threat from Iran. Thanks to the toughest, farthest-reaching global sanctions in history, Iran has been forced to the negotiating table, giving us an opportunity to reach an agreement.

And strengthen partnerships:

From the Middle East and Asia to Europe and our own hemisphere, we will strengthen the essential partnerships that are a unique source of America’s global strength. That’s particularly true of Israel, which is why we will continue supporting Iron Dome and other defense initiatives. If you challenge Israel’s security, you challenge America’s security. Plain and simple.

Nothin about foreign policy on Bernie Sanders’s Issues page.

I don’t think that Sanders has said anything on his foreign policy. There’s a good reason for that.

Poor Hillary! So mixed up. Pretending to be what she ain’t. She wants to act like a strong macho man instead of a strong smart Woman, which could be what is needed to untangle the mess. But she doesn’t have the material to be either.

It was obvious from the start that Clinton was the Israel lobby’s favourite. She’s going to be “better”(read: worse) on Palestine than Obama, who was largely terrible himself(silent on Cast Lead, whined on election eve but did nothing but block UN resolutions in the aftermath, panders to bigots who hate Palestinians etc).

This is why I always cautioned the whole “everything’s going to change in 2016”.
No, we won’t see real political change until the mid-2020s. A Republican won’t be able to win the WH again due to demographics. We’re going the route of California.

On campuses and so on, the change has already really taken place. It’s now mostly about consolidation and spreading it to the liberal media. Congress will be the final stronghold.
Just along with the White House.

“If you challenge Israel’s security, you challenge America’s security. Plain and simple.”

Nobody’s doing that, Hill and the statement is wrong and stupid. US national security IS threatened by US hypocrisy, etc. wrt Israel and her inability to see that is a huge problem for the region and for American citizens. Maybe she should run for PM rather than president of the American people.

She’s lost in Zion and will never change. There’s better choices out there among the Dems, imho. Meanwhile the Repubs are a complete joke and embarrassment again.
