Shmuley Boteach seeks to blackmail Obama over his legacy

on 22 Comments

Last week, 88 senators, including many progressives, warned President Obama in an AIPAC letter not to lift a finger to try to create a Palestinian state in his last few months of office.

Well now the execrable rightwing rabbi Shmuley Boteach joins the fun. This ad appeared in the New York Times today. Presumably paid for by Sheldon Adelson, it holds President Obama’s legacy over him and says that it’s all in jeopardy if Obama pushes for the creation of a Palestinian state in “Judea and Samaria.”

President Obama, as you leave office keep your friendship with Israel intact. Live by your own pledge: “There is no shortcut to the end of a conflict that has endured for decades… Peace will not come through statements and resolutions at the United Nations.'”

In other words, conflict management and apartheid, forever.

Rabbi Shmuley Boteach

Rabbi Shmuley Boteach

Boteach thinks that threatening powerful non-Jews over Israel will work. Well it has before. He’s done it with Samantha Power, Susan Rice, Cory Booker. Though thankfully Booker broke free at the end, during the Iran deal. The rabbi thinks that the Israel issue has such an overwhelming presence in the moral zeitgeist that he can wield it as cudgel to bend even a US president to his will.  The chutzpah of the Israel lobby! But: AIPAC is working right alongside him. And everybody knows what happened to Jimmy Carter.

In Haaretz, Rogel Alpher says what no one in American media will say: that AIPAC “members are rich, influential Jews who live in America and have appointed themselves to represent my interests and to protect me” and have no desire to live in Israel. But AIPAC is destroying Israel.

Who elected AIPAC? Who elected [Haim] Saban? Those Jews in America are literally ruining my life here.

I have just endured circa 30 mins of pure hypocracy from Samantha (give me ) Power at the UN emergency meeting relaying stories from Aleppo .She spoke of Hospitals being bombed and the consequent deaths of many civilians .She quoted survivors as saying , “we have nowhere to go”. She spoke of “Syrian Government /Russian –War crimes and maybe these accusations have credibility but any mention of Israeli War crimes is met with unfettered anger.

This is the same contemptible criminal who from the same building some 2 years ago told us ” Israel has a right to defend itself ” but made no mention of Palestinians having nowhere to go as Israel,s bombs fell on their hospitals and schools and UN shelters while trapped inside the prison that is Gaza.

Will no one rid us of these trouble makers . They are a threat to all of us.

Yeah amigo. That Power performance was completely unhinged. People who are afraid of Trump’s “finger on the button” should stop extrapolating. Any administration that could produce that performance is one to be very worried about. Here. NOW.

amigo…..I hear you loud and clear. Fact is that until someone in the American Government acquires the testicular fortitude to challenge the likes of Haim Saban,Sheldon Adelson and Boteach and lays the law down with regard to subterfuge and Foreign Government meddling in the undermining of the Sovereign American Government then nothing will change and America undoubtedly will totally lose its standing and power. AIPAC and ADL need to both be exposed and declared as foreign agents and banned from having offices in America. Israel does nothing other than bleed America of its finances and drags it down in utter humiliation before the World.

They are afraid that in his final days as President, Obama will finally do the RIGHT THING and try to push forward a 2SS, which will only make the zionist master plan have a major set back. They WANT to keep occupying and stealing lands that belong to those they wield power over, the helpless Palestinians who have had no help from world powers. US leaders send a paltry (compared to the mega billions we send the occupier) sum of aid, just to keep the Palestinians temporarily afloat, and that the occupation does not end in deaths due to starvation.

Schmuckly Boteach is a disgusting slime ball, who is doing the dirty work for the zionists, even challenging his own President, in this instance. He is making sure that this nation keeps making the right decisions for an alien rogue nation, even if it is the WRONG one for us.

These zionists in American clothing are like little parasite, sucking the blood off its host.
I wish we could send all zionist sympathizers back to their mothership.

Jews like Boteach, Saban, Adelson, etc., can openly bribe and blackmail anyone they perceive as not being pro-israel enough and demand these elected officials’ decisions be driven only by what’s good for israel and not the united states. Why is that? They have no consequences for their treason. They’ll stay in their country of origin until it gets too hot in the kitchen, then skip out for their true love, apartheid borderless israel. Who else can do that? Being Jewish, all they have to do is go to israel and declare they are olim and they’re in. (All the christian zionists out there – uh, that won’t work for you.)

That picture of the happy, red-cheeked smiling boteach reminds me that he has a great future where he’d actually have a function (no offence).

What do you know, even the king of the zionists is pressurizing the President of the United States, to NOT go ahead and push for a 2SS and a statehood for the deserving Palestinians. It should make any rational person wonder as to why this man does not want PEACE for his people. Stealing lands and Occupation, YES, but peace NO. It is easy to call a Palestinian state a “terror state” but facts show that the side that can be considered a “terror state” is the one who is occupying, stealing, and sending precision bombs into homes.

    • echinococcus on September 25, 2016, 3:43 pm

Whaddya mean, “even the king of the zionists”? If 70 years were not enough to teach us that no Zionist will give up before Palestine is entirely settled by the tribe and the locals reduced to the same state as American Indians (minus full citizenship, nach.)
The Zionists who say they are for “two states” support and implement the exact same policies as the current single-state-single-tribe ones, with an added pretense of “talks” with their own puppets for another unknown number of years or until successful genocide, whichever happens earlier.
So their king is better for us if he is the non-dissimulating caveman kind.

      • Kay24 on September 25, 2016, 9:54 pm

I meant while Schmuckly was putting up ads, and various senators were signing a letter asking Obama to not pursue the 2SS, the king of zionists himself is putting on the pressure. I think it is an organized effort by the zios to pressurize the President. I am sure others are also ordered to do the same through AIIPAC. Of course no zionists will ever agree to a 2SS, right now they are content with the status quo, are gaining more lands, have control over their neighbors, and do not need peace and freedom like those they occupy.

So Boteach is a racist occupationist and Wexler is a racist segregationist. What portion of the Jewish “rainbow” do they collectively represent?

I’m starting to think the struggle isn’t about some Jewish position of leadership for Palestinian justice in what seems to be somewhat self-defined as an issue on which Jews must be leaders, but rather a struggle for a consistent, non-insular morality from which Jews (as a named moral force for good, eg. JVP, NOT as individuals who already have the morality) might join the fight sometime in the future pending the outcome of some lengthy internal debate.

The rest of us are moving on relatively quickly.

    Go Corbyn!

    • amigo on September 25, 2016, 4:01 pm

      “Go Corbyn!” ritzl

Indeed , a bright spot during the weekend and this in spite of a british Israel firster zionist money bags efforts to “oust ” him.

“Michael Foster is leading the drive to unseat the U.K. Labour Party leader, calling his supporters ‘Nazi storm troopers.’ But while every anti-Semitic utterance in Britain has caused a furor recently, why was the ex-showbiz agent’s comment allowed to slip through? ” Haaretz

      No paywall on this link.

more good news –another British Israel firster quit,s the Labour party over alleged anti semitism.

Thanks for that link, amigo – It revealed not only Lord Mitchell’s resignation but the fact that the Labour parliamentary Party Friends of Israel has been relaunched, with membership ‘tripled’ to 65 and rebranded as a specifically pro-2ss outfit, with the slogan ‘For Israel, for Palestine, for peace’. Ho hum. Perhaps an indication of a shift, though a very slight indication of at best a very slight shift,, in the way the wind is blowing.
I’m centre-left rather than Left, so not very pro-Corbyn generally and I think he has been as disappointing to me as he has been to the very strongly Zionist Lord Mitchell. I thought his treatment of Naz Shah and his disowning of Paul Eisen were dreadful.

      • amigo on September 26, 2016, 8:13 am

        MHughes976 , Thanks for the response .

“The Labour Friends of Israel is a distinct organisation to the Jewish Labour Movement, the affiliated socialist society and successor to the UK’s Poale Zion.

It has been described as “less unquestioning in its support of the Israeli government than the Conservative Friends of Israel”. Between 2001 and 2009 the Labour Friends of Israel paid for more than 60 MPs to visit Israel, more than any other group.[9]”wiki

Looks as if BICOM ( the Britain Israel Communications and Research Centre, –yup , much better than that BIPAC ) is alive and well and steering British FP in ME affairs.

Wouldn,t Israel save so much money agreeing to and even funding a Palestinian state instead of wasting billions interfering in the affairs of so many sovereign nations through it,s proxies , ie AIPAC , BICOM et al. It beggars belief that Israel,s past and present leaders believe this can succeed Ad Infinitum.

I like Corbyn because of his stance on Israel but my opinion is moot as an outsider.I agree he treated Naz Shah badly bu will have to research his connection to Paul Eisen.

Not sure if you caught Trumps promise to netanyahu on Sunday to recognise Jerusalem as the “Undivded Capital of Israel “.I wonder if Hillary can go one better than that and go against her former bosses and all previous US administrations policy on the issue.

Don,t have a link but it is on Haaretz and Reuters.

Man, oh man, what does America have to do to get Shumuley off its back? No matter how much aid and political support that two bit banana republic gets it’s never enough.

Definition of an American Zionist: someone who will do anything for their beloved Israel except go and live there.

P.S. Phil, far be it for me to tell you your job but I hope you do something on the black power salutes at the Ophir prize ceremony and Miri Regev’s meltdown.

On CNN just now, they are commenting that a day before the debates, Clinton and Drumpf are both meeting with Nutty Yahoo today. It has taken years for Bill Clinton to know who really the super power is. It is obvious considering how much the WH, Congress, leaders, and the media bow down to it, in fact our Presidential candidates pay homage to its leader hours before they debate. As for Nutty man, he knows he must make nice with both, and making sure they have some control over both.

    From an old article:

“Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has never worried much about what foreign dignitaries think of him. Barack Obama is certainly not the first American president to find him a tough customer. In 1996, Bill Clinton remarked privately after his first meeting with Bibi, “Who the fuck does he think he is? Who’s the fucking superpower here?” Now, however, and at potentially great cost for Israel, he may be going too far.”

  8. wondering jew on September 25, 2016, 3:35 pm

Excuse me for stating the obvious, but this is an attack on clinton. The day after the elections would be the time for such an ad, if the true target was obama. (I accept Dennis ross’s analysis that a trump victory would increase the chances for Obama to leave office with such a lame duck, last act.) Calling attention to the Obama legacy on the eve of the debates is an attempt to capture the attention of those for whom israel is a primary issue and for whom such a resolution would be a betrayal. (The vast majority of jews for whom israel is a primary issue back the likud rather than Roger alphel’s vision). Despite mw’s well based opinion that haim saban makes hillary less likely than Obama to pressure israel, those who hate Obama (for his middle east policies), hate hillary too and consider her Obama 2.0 when it comes to israel. So boteach is backing trump with this advert.

  9. Kay24 on September 25, 2016, 10:12 pm

I wonder if it will be Clinton or Drumpf that will bring up Israel first, vow to love and protect it, and try to outdo the other one while doing it.

“Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is set to intervene, once again, in U.S. presidential elections. He is about to help, once again, the Republican Party. He is raising concerns and sparking ire, as before, in the White House and the Democratic Party. Like a compulsive gambler who returns to the same roulette table where he lost a fortune, Netanyahu is placing our chips on the wheel once again in the hope that he’ll finally hit the jackpot.”

Shmuley Boteach apparently wants Israel to annex the West Bank, and damn the consequences.
