Trump moved the embassy and ended the Iran deal “for Israel,” as Adelson put it, but that corruption was never a scandal for the mainstream press.
It is “uncouth” in mainstream media to say that the Foundation for Defense of Democracies and Republican funder Miriam Adelson are devoted to the pro-Israel cause. Even as FDD told the IRS that it was founded to promote Israel’s image in America, and Adelson has begun conducting the “Adelson primary,” in which possible Republican candidates for president show off their love of Israel in order to get campaign funds.
By giving hundreds of millions to Bush and Trump, the late Sheldon Adelson helped destroy the peace process and crush peace with Iran. Sadly the media never sought to expose and discredit his antidemocratic power, bigotry and extremism, because his mere presence fed antisemitic stereotype, of the puppetmaster, as even Trump referred to him.
Sheldon Adelson, who died last night, set out to destroy the Iran deal and the peace process and succeeded through his campaign contributions to Republican presidents. A fierce advocate for Israel, he wielded an incredible degree of power over U.S. policy.
The Adelsons’ big late gifts to Republicans — up to $100 million — are gaining scrutiny. What’s their agenda? Crush the prospect of a Palestinian state. Get the U.S. to attack Iran. So far they’re batting .500.
