It appears that Douglas Feith's book War and Decision is being ignored by the mainstream media. The Observer's Leon Neyfakh reported that the Washington Post failed to review the book after running a news story off the book's publication, and that following from that Post news account, the Times spiked its own news piece on Feith. No reviews in either paper, apparently. Christopher Hitchens has bonded with Feith over the issue. The rightwing Powerline has also taken up Feith's cause, speaking of a blacklist.
I'm with the right wing here. I think Feith's book should be reviewed. He was an important actor, an Under Secretary of Defense. I believe the media blackout has to do in part with its own shame at buying Feith's line of b.s. about Iraq's imminent threat. The papers don't want an open accounting, they want this guy to disappear back behind the baseboard. Marginalizing Feith is also a way to justify marginalizing the antiwar realists, like Walt and Mearsheimer. When the real answer is: More discussion.
Another reason Feith should be reviewed is that it’s important to contest his account. The great negative achievement of Feith’s book is his insistence that there was no ideological component to the Iraq War. In essence, he says, we went to war for one reason: because the Bush Administration justifiably feared that Iraq, which had been at war with the U.S. since ’91, would give chemical/biological weapons to Al Qaeda, with whom it had connections, and that Al Qaeda would then carry pandemonium and murder to the U.S.
This claim is highly suspect. Not least because Feith insists that he was some gopherish underling merely raising honest questions about the CIA’s demurrals on the crazy intelligence and decisionmaking. Well the CIA was right, as Linc Chafee’s book demonstrates. The decision to go to war was a reckless one, and Feith was in fact an ideologue.
That is the most amazing thing about Feith’s book: in his desire to make himself out to be a sane apparatchik serving Rumsfeld and Bush as they soberly sought to protect American families, he utterly cleanses his own record of the extremism that has long characterized his political activities. He does note that he helped to found the Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs, at 23, and that he advised Bob Dole on Middle East policy in ’96. But as I have already pointed out, he fails to say that he served Netanyahu in trying to demolish the peace process in ’96, when he penned the notorious Clean Break paper (along with the feverish David Wurmser and Richard Perle).
In his forthcoming book, The Transparent Cabal, Stephen Sniegoski more fully relates Feith’s record:
He [Douglas Feith] was closely associated with the right-wing Zionist group,
the Zionist Organization of America (ZOA). Living in Poland during the
1930s, Feith’s father, Dalck Feith, was active in Betar, the youth wing of
the right-wing Revisionist Zionist movement founded by Ze’ev Jabotinsky. In
1997, Douglas Feith and his father were the Guests of Honor at the 100th
anniversary dinner of the ZOA in New York City. Dalck Feith received the
organization’s special Centennial Award at the dinner for his lifetime of
service to Israel and the Jewish people. Douglas Feith received the
prestigious Louis D. Brandeis Award.
Feith co-founded One Jerusalem, a group whose objective was “saving a
united Jerusalem as the undivided capital of Israel.” Feith was quite open
about the Jewish exclusivism of the Israeli state. In an address he
delivered in Jerusalem in 1997, titled “Reflections on Liberalism, Democracy
and Zionism,” Feith denounced “those Israelis” who “contend that Israel like
America should not be an ethnic state – a Jewish state – but rather a ‘state
of its citizens.’” Feith argued that “there is a place in the world for
non-ethnic nations and there is a place for ethnic nations.”
Before entering the Bush administration, Feith ran a small Washington-
based law firm, Feith and Zell, which had one international office – in
Israel. And the majority of the firm’s work consisted of representing
Israeli interests. Feith’s partner, L. Marc Zell, was an American who became an
Israeli citizen living in a Jewish settlement on the West Bank.
Here’s Zell’s settlement. On Wikipedia, Zell comes across as a zealot. In his book, Feith doesn’t mention Zell, that settlement, or One Jerusalem; fails to describe the law firm in any specificity. His acknowledgements do mention a bunch of big-money neocon Zionist Republicans Mel Sembler, Richard Fox, Roger Hertog. Hertog is also a nut about the West Bank and has funded Nakba denial at Commentary magazine. Former ADL boss Ken Bialkin is also mentioned in Feith’s acknowledgments.
My point is that the core of Feith’s political engagement has been zealous support for an expansionist Israel that characterizes neoconservative ideas. But his book removes all reference to this activity in attempting to put himself forward as a sane broker of intelligence and of the decision to go to war. This is self-laundering at a stupendous scale. Now and then the extremist Feith leaks through here. Here, for instance, is a memo that Feith touches on in his book, saying it was merely informational–while taking care not to print it in his appendices. Of course he doesn’t want us to read anything from this memo; for it is not the voice of this book, but a hysterical voice, reciting 50 highly-tendentious and scary points allegedly tying Iraq to Al Qaeda.
Feith the ideologue repeatedly said that Saddam must be removed because he was exporting terrorism to other countries–invariably that other country was Israel. Well, I don’t think that was a reason for us to go to war, not while Israel is occupying Arab lands. It was in the American interest to stop the settlements a long time ago, as even Nixon and Bush I understood. But Greater Israel zealots like Feith have continually nullified that policy, with support from the big-money Semblers and Foxes and Hertogs.
One last point about Feith: He is donating all the proceeds of his book to a charitable foundation that will give the money to veterans and their families. Glory to you for that, Feith!

I guess this is positive news. (Not the NYT's suppression of difficult to deal with issues, that is olds) but that they now see Feith as a difficult issue. To review the book they had two choices — give him a positive review (i.e. continue the neocon con) or to review it critically. Phil is right — either would expose NYT's culpability in promoting the whole neocon agenda.
They are probably right to suppress this. The alternatives are too painful. But this is a sign that the times are changing. At least they are beginning to glimpse a reality out there that might not be the same one they believe in.

I am struck by His law firms focus on Israel, his deep immersion in intelligence matters and especially that he set up his own Pentagon-based intelligence shop to feed bogus 'Intelligence' to president Bush
and the country.

Several commenters, claiming to have been there, say that the bullets in his gun exploded, due to extreme heat. That is at least more believable than the suicide story, but still kind of hard to believe.
I am not willing to say that it was definitively not a suicide– but there are a lot of wierd angles to this story– like the fact that initial reports that can be found on Youtube say that "shots" were fired, not a shot.
Phil– you are a journalist– why not at least ask some questions about this?

Just want to say hi to everyone out there who has a conscience. It is extremely refreshing to hear folks actually acknowledging the FACT about the present day Jewish power brokers who control America's media, government, financial institutions and probably the water we drink. These Jews are in fact Ashkenazi Jews and have no tangible relationship to those acreages called Palestine and Israel. History has shown us time and time again the Jewish agenda and the masterful conjuring tricks of the Zionists who have used lies, deceit and obfuscation to feed their greedy little palettes. –
No surprises there. I also want to take this opportunity for the first time to disclose something to you all. This is something that results from years of study and although it has some fairly subjective leanings, it is essentially rooted in anthropological objectivity. The phenomenon I want to discuss is called "GENERALIZED SET" It is a term which my partners and colleagues alike have been using for almost 25 years but due to the censorship of mainstream media, it has been difficult to disseminate this terminology to a wider populace. I implore you all to begin using this expression when referring to Jews…..So WHAT is "GENERALIZED SET"? Well, we all know that all races have certain physical characteristics. And in all races and cultures ( except one) we find beauty in the features whether that person is a negro, an Indian, Celt, white Russian, Anglo Saxon, Asian, in fact anywhere on the planet you will find physical differences earmarked only by their own personal and dignified beauty.
The exception of course, is the Jew. Have you ever really looked closely at Jews? Do you notice that there is an ugliness about all of them? However this isn't the kind of ugliness which the mainstream media has always sectionalized and marginalized through Hollywood such as the guy with the big nose or the fat lady who brings the house down with every utterance. No, not at all. The Jewish ugliness stems firstly from the eyes, or more precisely the "SET" of the eyes which can often be so close together that you couldn't fit a blade of grass between them or eyes distanced widely to give a slightly deformed mongoloid look. It is this positioning of the eye more often than not coupled with the shifty disposition of the eye itself, which accounts for approximately 60% of "GENERALISED SET."
The eyes of the Tyke also contain an intensely festering, calculating gaze, which betrays even the most mixed Jew to his "Goyim" audience. Secondly, we turn to the nose. It has always been a byline that the Jews have big noses even though some Celts and those from other white races also have large high bridged noses. There is a typical Ashkenazi nose which is larger than average, often hooked or having a hooked appearance around the nostrils and can be seen in notable Yids like Larry King and Alan Greenspan ( two Tykes whom I might add), contain almost 100% "GENERALISED SET"!! However, once again it is not the shape of the nose that gives the game away, rather it is the placement of the proboscis on the face in relation to the other facial features, a placement which always looks makeshift- not correct, as though made not by the hands of GOD but one of Santa's little helpers the morning after a "bender."
Coupled with the patchwork eyes, the nose on the Yid form a formidable part of the phenomenon known to the Initiates, as "GENERALISED SET", – a proportion intrinsic to the filthy Yid alone!! NEXT TIME YOU WATCH –news from the war torn Middle East, compare the heads of say a Palestinian, or Arab with that of a Jew. Arabs can have hooked noses, Arabs can have intense dark eyes, but they have no "GENERALISED SET". Their features are grounded with some sense natural proportion. Yes, there are I suppose, good looking and not so good looking Arabs, as in every race, if we loosely defer to Hollywood stereotypes but again, I emphasize to you all, no set of physical features common to every race of peoples on this planet, can come within a thousand miles of that root of all true ugliness — the generalized set on every stinking, conniving Yid. Let's continue on our Tyke facial tour. THE MOUTH!! This is a highly potent tool of the Yid. From this hideous facial chasm coupled with his penchant for writing "gobble de gook," the Yid has been able to dupe and beguile all other races throughout history. The Yid has actually been "Talking in Tongues" since the day of his hideous inception. So is there little wonder, that the mouth of the Yid also has a disproportionate element and one that it also integral to the makings of "GENERLALISED SET." The mouth of the Yid is often so disproportionately wide and crooked, that the Yid seems to grapple deeply with the simple act of smiling. Notice that when any Yid tries to smile, it is only the mouth that changes shape. In other words, there is little reinforcement of the intention from the other facial characteristics. The eyes always remain inert. It is a reptilian smile- most probably representing reptilian intentions!! The Yid mouth is also given, more often than not, to slobbering. This could be due partly to physiognomic deformity, or perhaps by the arrogant, dismissive demeanor of the perpetrator. Either way, the Yid mouth is an embodiment of universal ugliness surpassed only by the filth which is jettisoned from it.
We now arrive at the ears. Take a good look at Ex New York Governor, Eliot Spitzer. Notice the outwardly protruding pointy ears. The ears of the Yid are often unusually large…a daunting observation and one that continually eludes Anthropologists, mainly because Yids are so set in their ways, that they have little time or motivation to listen to others and therefore have little to no use for hearing accessories. The pointy, elf like characteristic is almost ubiquitous on the ears of Yids. Again, Greenspan, King, and Spitzer…100% Ashkenazi Yid…100% “GENERALISED SET” !!!!
THE SKULL. The generalised skull shape of the average Yid is also an abomination. The skull shape more often than not exacerbates the sense of “GENERALISED SET”. Particularly around the eye and upper cheek cavities. In fact, some scholars have even surmised that the Yid skull may have extra terrestrial origins. This is an area that may be worthy of further erudition although due to the hazy nature of so much antique history, it is perhaps only through the most notable archaeological endeavours that we might be able to learn more about the exact origins of “GENERALIZED SET”
I must concede that it is inevitable that I will receive intense criticism for comments during this essay. Criticism is always welcome however, your denial of my right to have an opinion, is not!! For skeptics, simply consider this. For two thousand years, the Yid has been indoctrinated to “go fourth and multiply,” to mix with other races and acclimatize to other cultures whilst always preserving that part of him which is essentially Tyke. “GENERALISED SET” shows in no uncertain terms, the potency of the Yid gene. It matters not whether a Yid is a German Yid, A British Yid, and American Yid or a Negro Yid. Because behind the fronted race, there is always some generalized set. Even a white man, who is one eighth Yid, will bear some of the trappings of generalized set no matter how slight or ostensibly subtle.

Hi Matt, good questions! Firstly, Yidwatch which will be available for general observation at "yidwatch.sosblog.com" very soon， is an organisation now in it's 23rd year. Our member's comments have been censored from just about every mainstream blog and forum you can think of. Obviously, there are just too many Tykes out there controlling the flow of information, a situation which is worsening day by day. The agenda of Yid watch was and is as stated, to destroy the stranglehold of the Yid on civilisation, which he had little to do in the designing or constructing of, only plundering and manipulating it with his foul craft. Yidwatch keeps a tally of the activities and whereabouts of all Yids from the movers and shakers right down to the filth making bagels at the corner delicatessen.
