Israeli Blogger Reports on Settler ‘Goons’ in Hebron. His Blog Gets ‘Locked’ Down

Jeremiah Haber, the Magnes Zionist, has an amazing post here on a trip to Hebron after two years. All tunnels and walls, he says, and worse than when he saw the religious colonialists' outpost two years ago (when I also saw it). He was followed by a settler "goon," parodying a human rights activist by filming Haber's little delegation. Also says you can't see Bethlehem from the road because of the wall. A pity. Bethlehem was once linked visually with Jerusalem. After he did this post, Haber found that his blog had been "locked" by his host, blogger, for being a "spam blog." He couldn't post to it as a result. One suspects that his opponents in Israel so flooded the blog with spam as to cause its lockdown. I hope this falls into the category of vandalism/harassment, not official censorship. Jerry has set up his blog at a new temporary url: here.

    Worse than that, probably.

"[The JIDF] gained control of the group without compromising Facebook's security," Oboler said. "What they have done… is taken away the hate that was spreading through [the group's] membership. It's a shame that Facebook themselves did not remove it. It has taken a lot of effort from [the JIDF], while it would have taken Facebook one click."

Now look at the hate by settler 'goons' directed at Palestinians:

    Dear Phil,

    Can I make a suggestion?
Put right in this post the correction that you made later, that the "lockup" was just a glitch, not anything nefarious.
That would, it seems to me, be a courtesy to blogger.
