Rules for Fools: Gentiles Who Criticize Israel Are Anti-Semites

Adam Solomon, a Yale junior, has a blog. He's blogging about the Yale Political Union vote of last week. He thinks Jews should be able to criticize Israel:

It can get very difficult to support Israel and be taken seriously when
people are so used to getting emotional reactions saying that Israel
can do no wrong instead of real discussion… Put it like this, folks: when the Israelis are cool criticizing Israel,
just calm down and don't be afraid to do the same thing. You won't turn
into an anti-Semite.

In this blog, he calls John Mearsheimer, who started that conversation at the Yale Political Union, an "avowed anti-semite." I've never heard Mearsheimer avow any such thing. This is hate speech, and proves the rule: It's one thing for Jews to criticize Israel. Gentiles do so and we smear them.

[P.S. Mike Desch informs me I've missed Solomon's irony. If I have, I'm happy to apologize]

But that, too, has changed, as even non-Zionist Jews are now smeared as anti-Semites, and turned into person non grata (per Weiss' own experience, and many others, notably Finkelstein). All of which just goes to show — the Zionist incarnation of organized Judaism is an ideology unto itself. No matter ones Jewish blood/ethnic/religious status, if they reject Zionism, the are rejected by modern organized Judaism.

No wonder so many real Jews consider Zionists to be phonies, parasites, and interlopers.

  2. A friend of mine recently posted some comments in the political discussion area of an important financial website asserting that a big reason the US invaded Iraq was because of pro-Israel elements ensconced in the White House and the DoD, and with great influence in Congress.

He was branded an anti-Semite by other posters, had his comments taken down, and was banned from the site.

    What does that tell us?

I thought John Mearsheimer was Jewish?

  4. BTW, I looked at that kid Solomon's blog.

I didn't like it. Seems very full of himself. Lists as one of his favorite books "Atlas Shrugged." Says he's a libertarian.

What is wrong with kids these days and their very poor choices in the realm of politics and literature and philosopy? Yecch.

There are multiple strains of libertarianism. The (Jewish) Ayn Rand strain, which apparently Solomon subscribes to (basically the money-worshipping, globalization-advocating, market-imperialism strain) has tremendous appeal to many money-oriented Jews and their gentile “free-market” counterparts.

In contrast, the Ron Paul strain mostly wants to get the Federal government Leviathan out of the way so organic Christianity which, along with the Greco-Roman tradition, is the basis of Western civilization, can reassert its authority and put these Big Brother Zionists and market imperialists back in their rightfully subordinate place. It’s flaw is that it is also too “free market” oriented (which is often merely code for slave labor) for my taste.

Of course, the religion-hating, two party Washington regime, maintained by left-liberal interventionists and Neoconservatives, and the apparatus constructed by it, is opposed to any outside-the-box thinking whatsoever. Dedicated to its Left-materialist and Right materialist doctrine, it is so filled with hatred for religion and the religious that it always ends up in the same place: warmongering…against Islam…against Christian Russia…against “parochial” southern “hicks.”

The only “religion” it is willing to tolerate is Zionism, which makes all supporters of the two-party system Zionists by default. Anyone unwilling to challenge the two-party regime is unwilling to ever seriously challenge Zionism.

  6. Well, Chris Moore, I agree that "free market" is often code for "slave labor"; I also agree that the two-party system has this country in an intellectual strait-jacket.

As for the rest, it doesn't seem very clear . . .

We can't keep refering to the Israel lobby when these guys pushing for war from inside Europe are called the European Jewish Congress. Why is organised Jewry pushing the West into another world war?

Alicia Rosenbaum (Ayn Rand) was really not a libertarian, rather an Objectivist.

If you calling someone anti-semite is not sufficient, you can always submit a really unsavoury comment in this blog and sign it with their name.

Someone did it to me, and the very next comment branded me as an anti-semite: not that I blame them: I was supposedly enjoying the spectacle of my father killing Jewish children in the basement (I assume during second World War).

Clever and contemptable in equal measures.

Let me put it this way: the West has been corrupted — by money-worship, by Judeo-fascists, by atheistic Left/Right dialectical materialists and their globalization doctrine, by fake “Christians” like Bush and phony “Jews” like Foxman, who are in actuality ideological Zionists, by the two party regime, which subscribes to and endorses all of the above. In short, the West has been deceived and betrayed by the “elites,” which in a Godless Capitalist system is comprised of the most ruthless and venal, which probably made the betrayal inevitable (in upside down bizarro world, the scum rises to the top).

But the grift, which since the advent of the internet has been harder and harder to maintain due to the erosion of the elites’ monopolistic hold on mass media, is rapidly coming to an end. The “secularists” and “democracy advocates” are increasingly being identified for what they are: belligerent, greed driven warmongers. And the world is consequently on a revanchist trajectory.

And short of wholesale authoritarianism (which won’t be tolerated for long in the liberty-oriented West) the only ethos that can possibly balance the multi-racial, multi-cultural, fractured, tribalized Western society created by the greedy two-party regime, is the Christian ethic — as the history Western civilization proves. All the other interest groups will have to be subordinated, or the whole ball of wax is going to crumble.

The Western elite have put all of their eggs in the globalization, market-imperialism, united by money-worship basket, which is a proven disaster, and so we are in the creaking, early stages of the crumbling, which will continue to worsen until the corrupt Establishment is overthrown.

Zionism is in some respects a side issue, but as the chosen religion of the corrupt elite, is a useful identifier.

Is there any other country other than Israel that we are not permitted to criticize. If not, then this is a tedious stupid subject that amazes me that it should even be considered. I suggest that the zionists grow up.

  12. Robert Hume says:

Something like 20% of Americans are of German ancestry; and many US Jews also have German names. So a German name, e.g. Mearsheimer, does not necessarily mean you are Jewish.

Jews with German names are so often prominent that prominent German-Americans are often incorrectly assumed to be Jewish.

Many ethnic Germans changed their names during WWI to minimize prejudice against them, so some with ethnic German ancestry have English-like names.

Phil — This kid was being ironic when he refered to John Mearsheimer as an "avowed antisemite." Notice the crossed-out "guest speaker." That's the clue. Mike

Yes, I'm aware of all that. I thought I had read, in a review of the book, that Mearsheimer was Jewish. I guess I was wrong. Wouldn't be the first time :)

So he was. But that's one of the things that is endearing about Weiss: he's so damned literal and earnest. He seems to take people at their word, which in the upside down contemporary West is viewed as a sign of weakness. Yet another in our laundry list of problems.

Eva, it happened to others here. I once used a blog URL to make spoofing more difficult. It felt as if there was one main suspect then. But this doesn't really need to be somebody that comments himself, could be an observer that attacks people. Is the motivation something like: I know you are an antisemtite, even if you don't show it directly. So I have to signal my superior knowledge to the crowd.

The bad thing about this is that you can't control the comments always and correct mails like this.

Just keep this always in mind, when somebody sounds antisemitic except for the confused ideologues. Not easy I was tricked before, and again left with open mouth in your case. Sorry.

  18. LeaNder says:

I agree with you Michael, I was close to point at special gaps in his theory. … What puzzles me most is the ultimate glue he applies to mend fractures: the Christian religion.

Would be interesting what importance religion has in his own life.
