Interesting JTA piece about fears that the financial meltdown will lead to attacks on Jews. It cites "Saturday Night Live"'s attack on bankers Herbert and Marion Sandler and on George Soros. Included this:
a Jewish employee with a top New York investment bank who asked that
his name be withheld. “And it’s because it’s spreading past Wall Street
now. There’s a growing animosity towards the wealthy, and especially
the wealthy that have made money on Wall Street and real estate and
finance, as so many Jews have—some legitimately, some not so. It’s very
easy to generalize that it must be the entire Jewish people.”
The piece also said that a lot of commenters on the web reacted to the fact that the Congress took off Rosh Hashanah when the financial system was falling apart. Something this website also went into. I still don't get that one, whether Jews weren't compelled to put New Year's celebration aside. Today of course is Yom Kippur. Thanks to monotheism, the one god in heaven made sure that there would be no playoff games today or last night, thus sparing us the Koufax story redux: Will Kevin Youkilis suit up or not? (Well he did suit up once, sat in the dugout.)
I don't know how much influence Jews have. I trust Phil's view that Jews are major players as WASPs once were. Without reading everything that Martillo writes (the color scheme on his site is annoying, and getting to the point often takes too long)I trust his instincts about certain types of Jews/Zionists, and freely admit that I don't know if the power that Martillo claims these people have is exaggerated in any way or not.
It is obvious that Jews are represented, talked about and pandered to in ways that their numbers shouldn't support. I find it strange that many in our highly managed society view Jews as the default managers of finance, law, political candidates, academia, media, business and so forth. I feel like I'm on solid ground there. If Jews have displaced the WASPS in managing the rest of us, they are doing a terrible job.
I don't believe that Jews are any more willing to sacrifice the blood and fortunes of the masses, serve themselves at the public trough, rig the game to their own advantage, play group politics, demagogue issues or try and rule the world than the WASP elites that took control after the Civil War were. The difference is that the Jews don't have the demographics to provide a smokescreen or back-up, and are bound to fail much quicker than the WASPs did.
The current system can't last forever, and I'm mostly interested in what will come next. Multiculturalism and massive legal and illegal immigration offer nothing but confusion if we are to remotely resemble what we have been in the past. If Jews are really as influential as some claim, then the ones with the power should be very careful about how they try to influence, shape or change the nation, or they could really create a situation where fear is warranted.
The Jewish influence is dominent–witness the contending VP embrace of Israel on primetime TV, and the prior .genuflection of the prime contenders before AIPAC's altar. Fear is warranted.
Anon, I understand that Jewish interests don't rise frequently in politics, entertainment, economy, culture and every other area because Jews are weak. I don't know the extent of Jewish power, its intent or the full positive or negative benefits, since it is pretty much a taboo subject. I guess that Martillo is trying to give a more honest view than we normally get.
I also don't believe that a case can be made that if Jews are the real power in the U.S. at this point, they are no more willing to waste the blood, futures and fortunes of the masses than their WASP predecessors were. I also don't believe that the WASPs were any less willing to engage in social engineering, exploit the masses for their own narrow interests or subject the masses to social conditions that they would never accept for themselves or their children.
I just don't see how Jewish power can last very long if it is merely serving Jewish interests, and is openly hostile to the majority as many Jews seem to be. Then again, I'm not a multiculturalist.

I'm really not sure what exactly "World Jewry" is. Maybe someone like You or Joachim will nail down what World Zionism in concrete terms.
I do think it is very obvious that there are Jewish networks in media, finance, entertainment and politics that are self-serving, hostile to outsiders and corrupt. I'm just not sure how Jewish elites are any worse than the insular WASPs of the Northeast were. I think the difference is that Jews are not as powerful and can never appear as a stabilizing influence. WASPs were builders, and Jews seem to be deconstructors.
