Burg Book Saying ‘Holocaust Is Over’ Is Covered as News in England, Not Here Yet

Avraham Burg's Holocaust book has broken as news in England, in the Independent:

Benjamin Netanyahu, a front-runner for the Israeli premiership, has been
severely criticised by a former Speaker of the Knesset and head of the
Jewish Agency for comparing the threat posed by Iran to that of pre-war Nazi
Germany.

A beautiful book, I'm reading it now. Burg is offering himself as a prophet. A prophet is without honor in his land. OK, that means Israel. But what about the U.S.? Where's the American coverage? I get nothin on google news.

An opponent of the occupation of Palestinian territories, Mr Burg makes a plea for the EU to become more involved in the Israeli-Palestinian peace process and for Israel to reconsider its “orientation” of “Europhobia” and “Americophilia”. He says a solution may lie in a federation of Israeli and Palestinian entities, perhaps as part of a regional body including Arab states worried about Iranian hegemony. Mr Burg suggests the EU might eventually hold out membership to the region, including Israel and the Palestinians, as a peace incentive.

Hmmm? And for America to "to reconsider its “orientation” of conflating “Euro-” and “Arabophobia" into: "Europistan" as typifying the ultimate pan-Islamist-threat ante portas? That Israel and America stop to function as some kind of hybridization between clairvoyant and barometer that eternally shows 1938 degrees?

    Burg:

"There are two kinds of people coming out of Auschwitz," he told me. "Those who said never again for the Jews and those like me who say never again for any human beings."

Can anyone say Phil Weiss versus Richard Witty?

Burg's analogy of Israel and diaspora Jews as a combo child who suffered child abuse and kept the cycle going as a combo adult
–against the unwilling Palestinian step-child, is a bonus for
    understanding on the macro level.

"It's 1938." No, it's 2008, and Jews have the only super power in the world defending their back, not to mention their own state
with an economy equal to Spain's, annual gigantic welfare from the USA, and USA economy and grunts funding Israel's blood and soil philosophy. Not to mention all those USA vetoes in Israel's favor that no white regime ever gained at the UN, and every other conceivable diplomatic means–all for Israel. Israel of course is also one of the top weapons providers in the world.

    Smell the coffee?

I predict the New York Times will ignore it as long as they can. If there's a buzz and they are eventually forced to acknowledge its existence, they'll probably assign someone like Walter Laqueur.

But all that we know for sure is that whoever reviews it, he or she will definitely be Jewish.

Why of course, so let's get poetic and stop all aid to Israel, attach strings to aid for it as we do with every other nation. Time to boot the notion of entitlement, both as to Israel and to our own USA young.

  5. Richard Witty says:

"Can anyone say Phil Weiss versus Richard Witty?"

My active principle is "NEVER AGAIN, to anyone, and not by my hand".

It is the principle of live and let live.

    Burg is a Zionist still.

  6. Eva Smagacz says:

    Richard,

Most of the Poland practiced principle of "live and let live", watching Jews starve in the ghetto. Some, like my grandparents, did not placate their conscience with "not by my hand" nonsense, and went and DID things. They did not stand at the entrance to the ghetto and offered advice to Jews to get redress via access to courts under Nazi Civil Administration.

Your "active" principle is to do nothing, and let the evil continue, while you play with words.

Time for a new book and then movie, a new I am A Camera & Cabaret, one written by an objective person in Palestine, and turned into a movie by a new Hollywood. Live and let live will take on cabaret overtones, and guess who takes the place of the young
Hitler Youth singing Tomorrow Belongs To Me?
