Barak uses Barack

Israel's out of control defense minister, Ehud Barak, who of course was the great attempted peacemaker at Camp David, is wiping the floors with my future president. From Haaretz:

Barak also cited a comment made by U.S.
President-elect Barack Obama, who visited Sderot during his election
campaign earlier this year.

"Obama said that if rockets were being fired at his home while his
two daughters were sleeping, he would do everything he could to prevent
it," Barack told the plenum.

Yes. Obama now add, "If USA made and paid for, F-15s, F-16s, Apache Helicopters, and the latest USA bunker-busters were
bombing and strafing my home while my two daughters were sleeping, or as is the case now, while they were coming from school with their friends, I would do everything I could to prevent it."

Do the Obama girls know the term "Nakba?" Does Obama or his wife?

At one point in 2007 Obama did blurt out that nobody has suffered like the Palestinians, so we know he knows the real scoop–OK, he had to ignore it to get elected in our plutocracy, but
now? Sure, one president at a time–but this has not stopped Obama from making public statements during the interim on other controversial issues….

Of course, right now it's Palestinian homes in Gaza that rockets are being fired at. Yet Obama, the President-elect, says nothing.

If the question had been posed to Obama, What would you do if one of the strongest military forces on the planet..stole your land, bulldozed your home, cut down your olive trees, stoned, harassed and spit at your 2 girls, forbade you to travel a road in your own country, and you had no one to defend you and no means to defend yourself.I wonder how he would respond? And I ask an honest answer to that question from any zionist.

Consider what he did not say. Assuming Ehud Barak recalls Obama's words precisely, P-E Obama did not say that he would do everything he could to kill those firing the rockets, he said he would do everything he could to PREVENT [the rockets from being fired]. He had to know the topic of rocket attacks would come up during his visit to Israel, and I think it possible that his remark was not 'off the cuff', even if he did a great job of making it appear so. He made no exclusive endorsement of military action, i.e., he did not rule out other options WITH THIS STATEMENT. I realize that it is likely I'm reading too much into his choice of words, however it is also a possibility, however remote, that it is Ehud Barak who is doing the wishful thinking.

P.E. Obama's remark is consistent with the notion that he will take pursuit of a just final-status agreement seriously, and remain genuinely open to all options. His quickness to forgive far-over-the-line transgressions from political opponents, e.g., Senators Clinton and Lieberman, suggests that he has little use for revenge, and is ruthlessly interested in results. His emotional self-discipline is impressive. My assessment is that he is nobody's man but his own, and I think he will do exactly what he feels is best to achieve results, whether military action or diplomatic negotiations. If he thinks killing needs to be done, then killing there will be. And if he thinks pressure needs to be exerted on a recalcitrant faction during negotiations for a final-status agreement, then pressure there will be, even if it must be directed at Israel, and that it will be just harsh enough to get results, but results there will be. I hope.

I bet Obama's dead mom would be protesting against her own son in this matter. He has learned nothing. He's not half the human his mother was, nor her parents, and his silence now really shows it, not to mention his new hires.

  6. Tommy says:

Obama will have the opportunity to become as great an American as Cindy Sheehan or Rachel Corrie. It is doubtful he will seize the opportunity, leaving it to others to become great human beings by opposing America and its clients' militantism.

  7. rabbI kook says:

No doubt at all Obama's mother would have supported Sheehan & Corrie. He's not a moral courage toenail on her now decayed foot.

"Obama will have the opportunity to become as great an American as Cindy Sheehan or Rachel Corrie."

As great as Racel Corrie? Invoking IHOP girl is in very bad taste.
