Hamdillah! Huffpo features a completely sympathetic and even slightly modish Arab as lead image

Arab I told you the world is changing. Yesterday it was Steve Clemons saying Gaza is Guernica. This morning this lede foto on Huffpo says: How'd you like this to happen to you? No thanks! When Feith and Frum were around, this never would have happened. Thanks to the perspicacious Sky Redoubt

Sometimes HuffPo must acknowledge the truth despite itself. I was banned from there over a year ago for pointing out just how much censoring of comments they were doing. They banned me and scrubbed everything I'd ever written there. Look at how quickly they shut down comments anytime Alan Dershowitz wtites a piece of propaganda there. Most the comments reject Alan's assertions, but in a rational respectful manner. Then the comments are closed. It is clear that he brings up hot button issues, but the discussion is shut down. Comments about Bush or Palin may go into the thousands but Alan gets a firewall that protects him from criticism. For example, his essays critical of Dr. Norman Finkelstein have the comments shut down before they even hit 40, and most of them are supportive of Dr. Finkelstein.

This little blip aside, HuffPo is part of the problem. Zsa-Zsa loves her TV time and you can't get that locking horns with the chosenites.

Did anyone else see Rachel Maddow's zionist–and infantile–account justifying the Israel government atrocities last night? Sickening.
Maddow, who first took Marc Maron's spot in the morning on AirAmerica, and then Sam Seder's at night, pretends to liberal values, but has betrayed all who care about justice, peace, and rule of law.
Wonder when Mark Green, head of AAR, will condemn Israel's slaughter of Palestinians–not to mention its violations of the ceasefire and rejection of the truce offered by Hamas?

Green and Huffington both need to re-evaluate what being a liberal means, and neither of their websites seems to respond to emails.

Yeah, I posted about Maddow last night. What a disappointment. And I've said it a million times–if the US was doing a Gaza in Afghanistan or Iraq, she would be the first to jump on with the condemnations.

Gaza is indeed Guernica; the problem is that most Americans today have no idea what Guernica is in the first place, aside from (just possibly) a weird painting featuring a screaming horse.

Are there any links or transcripts of Rachael Maddow's comments online?

    Hamdillah? Did you mean Alhamdulillah?

  6. Steve says:

No transcript of Maddow, but the video of her show seems to be here:

Lance, I had exactly the same experience at HuffPo, Lebanon 06. I charitably thought my comments were suffering some glitch or other but it soon became clear they were being monitored and massaged by Lobby-friendly editors. They would run idiotic pieces by Dershowitz or Bill Maher or Haim Saban's wife, let the comments (heavily anti, generally) run for perhaps 24 hrs, then wipe the thing entirely. Gutless wonders. Sheep in wolves' clothing.

Thanks for the confirmation, Glenn. One especially egregious scrub was where the founding benefactor of Air America submitted one of those, "Imagine there was no Israel" pieces and I pointed out that he was merely paraphrasing a Meir Kahane essay. My comment got pulled in 8 minutes (a record as far as I was concerned). Arianna's gatekeepers are always hard at work to make sure the featured Zionist mouthpieces do not take too much heat from the registered commentors. They've pretty much purged all but the most obsequious voices there.

For the record it was Sheldon Drobny and he paraphrased this Kahane essay (DEAR WORLD… – link to masada2000.org
