Gaza is the exile of the neocons

Andrew Sullivan has a great post on Arabs as human beings, the implicit target of which is actually Jewish ethnocentrism/neoconservatism. He is now justly angry at the McCain campaign for this ideological/religious/ethnic cargo. Again I ask: Where was the discussion during the campaign of this central component of Establishment life? Again, demonstrating my father's point, negotiations of Jewish power in American society will take place without fireworks. (Thanks to Voskamp for tip)

Not if the rest of the world can bust open your filthy litle cabals.

Great post? I think it sucked.

If Andrew Sullivan said that Arabs were 3/5ths human, would you condemn him for being a racist, or would you celebrate the great leap forward. Sometimes Mondoweiss can do both.

Here is the key "In a contest between Israel's flawed democracy and Hamas's theological murderousness, I see no moral equivalence". If they were both human and equal, there would be talk of Humas's flawed democracy, and Israel's much larger theological murderousness.

Dear Jawad, Israel trumps Hamas' murderousness by a thousandfold.

It is good to see Sullivan slowly coming to his senses, but he has much to atone for, and it's difficult to avoid the feeling he is trimming and tacking in response to change he didn't foresee. He knows much of the court commentariat will be washed away by reality in the next few years, and wants to remain 'relevant' so he can cling to the wreckage.

Hitchens has begun the same journey. Wake me up when they get there.
