the global expectations for Nicholas Kristof

Nicholas Kristof holds the Anthony Lewis seat on the Times Op-Ed page. Kristof is W (worldly). And he's liberal. Though he doesn't have Lewis's passion. All this to say that a lot of people are hoping he would have spoken out on Gaza slaughter. He hadn't as of a day or two ago. Anees, a Palestinian in Jerusalem, writes: "I just went to check Nicholas Kristof's blog to see if he had noticed what's happening in Gaza, only to be very disappointed by a naive and ultimately unfair first take. [The Gaza Mess, January 2] Maybe we can prod him to dig deeper for his next post? A decent person on the Times Op/Ed team is a terrible thing to waste." Agreed.
