Leviev, settlement-builder, said to benefit from free-trade agreement with Israel

Further pressure on the special relationship. This complaint filed with the U.S. Trade Representative by the Institute for Research: Middle Eastern Policy says that the free-trade agreement with Israel has not worked in the U.S.'s best interest, with Israelis ripping off our intellectual property.
Economically, we've run a deficit with Israel for 10 years, to the tune of $70 billion, IRMEP claims, in contrast to the surpluses we have with other free-trade partners. And IRMEP says that Israel has continually violated American Intellectual-Property laws by reverse-engineering U.S. military exports then manufacturing them and selling them itself. Also copied, it says: pharmaceutical and agricultural innovations.
IRMEP says that there have been continual grass roots and industry protests of the special relationship.
And what is Israel's leading duty-free export to the U.S.? Precious stones, one-fifth of American consumption. And who is gaining protection under the free trade legislation? Why, Lev Leviev, the developer of settlements in the West Bank who is subject to boycott by the U.K. and Unicef, IRMEP says.
