From Ynet:. Kosher certification is from the headline and story:
In recent weeks, a large group of Beit Illit [West Bank colony] residents has organized with the support of local rabbis in an effort to expel Arab workers from the town. "They are harmful to the daughters of Israel and create serious spiritual problems in the town," said the residents. The residents have placed a temporary solution on the table: Inspectors from the town will be stationed to supervise the Arab workers and will expel anyone suspected of damaging "the spirit of the town."
There has always been tension between the town’s residents and the Arab workers who enter the town to make a living. According to the two groups, calls to expel the Arab workers have increased in recent weeks. The Arab workers are mainly employed by the transportation company, Illit, which operates lines that take passengers outside the town, and by Rami Levi’s grocery store, Hashikma.
Thanks to Eva Smagacz.

Right, so we’ve had pogroms, and herding into ghettos, and bombing of said ghettos, and now we have racial purification. Seriously, what’s left? Yellow crescents instead of yellow Stars of David… and it only keeps going downhill from there.
In the complete article, an Arab worker reports being beaten up by these racists. There are unsurprisingly no reports of arrest for assault.
Let them clean their own toilets.
The question that must be asked is why do the Haredi in the USA struggle for inclusion in dominant society? Yet in Israel they become most extreme? The body politic in Israel scampers to gain their support, so with their “power” they think they can lash out and do what they want.
VR – well said. It’s the political structure in both countries that determines the outcome. In the U.S., you don’t get a cookie for being violent or sexist so Haredi Judaism has developed as a peaceful culture with relative freedoms granted to its women. Reverse that for Israel.
That’s one of the consequences, though unintended I think. I suspect the purpose of the arrangement is to induce Jewish immigration to Israel. Zionists want Jews (those who aren’t part of the elite, anyway) to feel pressure to emigrate to Israel, and so they make sure even Jewish society outside of Israel is hostile to any strain of Judaism that isn’t totally mainstream.
The Ynet article gets off to a good start: Maher Marwani, 47, from Ras al-Amud next to Jerusalem
Ras al-Amud is not next to Jerusalem. It is a Palestinian neighbourhood in the heart of Jerusalem, overlooking the Old City. It is also a prime target for settlers, who claim that it’s … part of Jerusalem!
Each group has their “method” of how to cleanse an area, with the Haredi they make themselves useful with the tool of religious extremism. Every methodology is steeped in disingenuous motive, no matter how religious it may appear – it is the selling of every tradition for the immoral and illegal status quo.
