Michael Chabon provided us with an alternative history of what Alaska might look like if Israel had never been born, but we have not had an alternative history of what Israel would look like had it been born in 1900 complying to Herzl’s promises rather than 1948 in reaction to all the history that took place in between 1900 and 1948.
