Lily Sussman says her famous computer is ‘kind of symbolic of Israeli aggression’

Here’s an interview by Daily News Egypt with Lily Sussman, the American student whose Mac book was shot three times by Israeli security at Taba border crossing two weeks back. They could have asked for the password, but didn’t, she says. "There are so many other issues and so many other grievances that I’m kind of shocked that this has become such a big deal." Now to the important questions. Sussman says that she’s partly-Jewish, was quizzed about her religion and her knowledge of Jewish holidays (lacking) and then began to smirk. But it was evidently her time in Cairo that got the Israelis’ suspicions up.

That story has gone viral since it was posted here. Good.

  2. It appears there are now approximately 700 ‘responses’ under her original blog post. – link to lilysussman.wordpress.com

I can’t believe there are actually idiots who are trying to peddle that B.S. that “the best way to disarm a bomb is to shoot at it.” I have to assume these imbeciles also assume that you can open or close doors by shooting any keypads that happen to be next to them.

It’s been reprinted in several major news outlets in Israel. It’s been slashdotted and featured at Mac sites.

Nothing of course in the US MSM.

  4. Lily’s a mac, Israel’s a pc

I hope she keeps it, or better yet, finds a place to put it on display. That Macintosh is a symbol now, and a very potent one. Not every piece of art that exists is intentional.
