NYT shows us how it feels to be Palestinian

Rina Castelnuovo, the Times photographer (and sometime reporter) whom we’ve mentioned a couple of times here, continues to amaze. Two friends sent me this link tonight, to a Times slide-show. Photos 2 and 3 are Castelnuovo’s from an ethnic cleansing operation in East Jerusalem, the removal of a Palestinian family from their home and the installation of Orthodox Jews. Picture #2 captures everything. The utter helplessness, the dispossession of families, and with it– you can see this in the man’s eyes–the feeling that he would do anything to avenge himself right then. A feeling I’m sure I would share if my home was ripped away from me.

scraps on the table… why don’t they try doing some honest reporting of the situation? i guess that would be too much to ask of an ”amerikan” publication..

Notice how the NYT had to make it “balanced” by showing one of thieves with a cut that needed to be bandaged?
