Frightening night raid targets… nonviolent Palestinian protest

by Philip Weiss on January 12, 2010 · 35 comments

Incredible footage by Haitham Al Khatib of Israeli soldiers coming into the Palestinian village of Bilin at 3 in the morning last night to arrest Yaseen Mohammad Yaseen, described as a 21-year-old participant in the Bilin protests. An account of Yaseen’s efforts to evade Israeli arrest over the last six months is here, at the Bilin site. Thanks to Assaf Oron.

Incidentally, if you guys want a discussion on the blog completely free of Witty? Here’s your chance. You won’t see him within a mile of any topic that talks about actual Israeli actions.

2 potsherd January 12, 2010 at 3:33 pm

So you threadjack the topic to Witty.

3 Cliff January 12, 2010 at 2:07 pm

Heh, I was just about to post that Chaos.

It’s been that way for years. He has to be mentally ill. Our other Zionists are capable of self-reflection (yonira/WJ – not the drive-bys like ‘Einstein’).

Witty is a troll.

4 aparisian January 12, 2010 at 7:35 pm

I think Witty, yonira and co are the moderates still, i meet other Zionists/Americans on tweeter much more hardened by the Zionism.

5 Cliff January 12, 2010 at 7:50 pm

Witty is a polite fascist. He supports the Hebron settlers and issues the typical apologetics for their crimes. He also supports the settlements (which he characterizes as ‘Enough!’).

Meaning, he played the land-grab gamble as did every other greedy, thieving Zionist and now wants to safely back out before he gets more than he bargained for.

WJ is the most civil Zionist we’ve had on the blog and I consider him to be relatively reasonable actually. He seems smart too.

yonira is schizo. Sometimes he seems practical and other times he doesn’t. And often it’s just a difference of opinions/experience pure and simple. I don’t think he’s as well-read though. Surely not as much as WJ.

Witty is the least well-read and also willfully ignorant (refuses to read the Goldstone Report, yet is confident in citing criticisms of it, and joining in on the condemnation. He also patronizingly characterizes the report as simple, ‘information’ – benign). He is a troll.

We have other trolls too, but they are just the run-of-the-mill rejects who don’t stick around long and eventually slither back to Haaretz or YNet or LittleGreenFootballs, etc. I recall a recent story about this Rabbi who promised conversion for a shiska in exchange for sexual favors for him and his buddies. In the comments section, one Zionist said essentially that the story was a waste of time because while the Rabbi was just trying to get laid, worse things were being done by Muslims.

That pretty much sums up the level of crazy over there.

6 Chaos4700 January 12, 2010 at 2:14 pm

As far as the actual topic goes, now that I’ve vented…

The sad thing is, the rest of the world is seeing this on mainstream news. We in the United States are shielded from this, even more vigorously than we’ve been shielded from the crimes of our own government (how long did it take before Abu Gharib was revealed not as a singular incident but as an institutionalized system of torture, complete with cooperation from the Department of Justice?)

The rest of the world is leaving the United States behind. And pretty soon they’re going to be wondering why they’re bothering to drag us behind them like a ball and chain.

7 Citizen January 12, 2010 at 2:27 pm

Yeah, you’re right. Makes me really proud to be an American. Funny thing, no American I know would ever dream they would have been other than like the White Rose if they had been citizens of Germany back in the 3rd Reich era. Truth is, they would not have acted any differently than German society did, given the same pressures. The litmus test for these feel-good Americans is coming soon at a theatre near you. Perhaps a goy or even jewish Goldhagen will survive it to write a sequel implicating USA and Israel citizens… Arendt was not wrong.

8 Chaos4700 January 12, 2010 at 2:34 pm

I think in an operative sense, it isn’t just a question of would we, but did we? Look at what we did to the Native Americans. Or African slavery and how long that went on? That didn’t end until we had a Civil War that nearly cost us our country.

9 Citizen January 12, 2010 at 3:13 pm

YES, but it’s relevant that what is being done now occurred after the Nuremberg Trials and the international tribunals subsequently erected. Otherwise, why did all those allied soldiers die? In the NOW, are their deaths a monument to the Goering principles?

10 Chaos4700 January 12, 2010 at 4:35 pm

I don’t dispute that point. That’s what makes Israel a threat to world peace and modern civilization, and ourselves in turn for supporting them at the expense of human rights and social justice.

11 VR January 12, 2010 at 5:35 pm

Yes, this is a very frightening night – but to be honest I am aware of much worse, although this is bad going after peaceful protesters. You have equally peaceful civilians in their homes assaulted and murdered in cold blood, these IDF asses go through the camps they shoot through walls, they break in houses and shoot through room doors, closets – with no checking of who is on the other side. They shoot at lights that turn on as snipers from rooftops and kill children in their bedrooms, they shoot children if they look out the window to see what is going on. the “rules of engagement” never change, shoot first – kill with impunity.

12 Cliff January 12, 2010 at 2:26 pm

I’d say the ‘rest’ of the world already has Chaos, but it doesn’t matter.

When Chomsky was doing the rounds for Manufacturing Consent, in his stop at Canada, he was asked why he was allowed to even give a talk about the book in such a prestigious venue (in Canada).

He essentially answered – because it’s Canada.

That’s true. It’s not important what people think elsewhere. They don’t have the political capital.

That’s why the lobby works so hard here. Most powerful country, hence it matters more here.

13 Chaos4700 January 12, 2010 at 2:32 pm

Yeah but the corruption is taking its toll on the foundations of the US. I wouldn’t count on the US being the most powerful country in the world for much longer. For one thing, China holds the mortgage and we’re setting ourselves up to default.

I take a small amount of consolation in the notion that, if (and it’s looking increasingly more like when…) the United States does collapse, Israel and the threat it creates for world peace will pretty much stop cold. Parasites don’t generally survive long after the host perishes.

Israel already has a bail-out plan in place. Dennis Ross helped to plan it — JPPPI: Israel-China alliance

; Madoff, Greenspan, Goldman Sachs, Sheldon Adelson, etc. and UJF campaigns in numerous American cities are financing it; Stuart Levey and numerous misguided American lawmakers are mowing down the opposition/competition (Iran). This time zionists have a place to dump their old folks — Florida — and they’re rigging the US health care system to ensure that American taxpayers foot the bill for gramma’s meds, and that those meds will come from Israel (Teva Pharma; Taro, etc.)

15 Chaos4700 January 12, 2010 at 4:37 pm

Yeah but I don’t think China is as stupid as the United States is. For one thing, China’s not invested in Judeo-Christian agendas and the “war of civilizations” bullshit like we are.

I don’t think Israel’s going to find a new dancing partner in China so much as a taskmaster.

16 VR January 12, 2010 at 5:02 pm

Yes, I am really really pissed that no matter where I look in the financial world I find these leaches. As an example, in the last two domestic posts on my site, one with Cerberus (present post) I find the ass Feinberg – sucking poor people of their blood, literally! Destroying and stripping Chrysler – this shitty hedge fund groups, not once ounce of decency – supported by this capitalist nightmare, it never ends. With his hand out soaking up bailout dollars like no tomorrow.

Previous to that, on the 7th I find Eli Broad paying the salaries of Los Angeles LAUSD officials who are privatizing the school system, with his hand out sucking up all of the federal dollars. Engaged in the complete destruction of public schools. I mean this bullshit never ends, it is getting really old. So, don’t only look at what is going on in an international sense, look at what is taking place in the USA. No morals, no scruples, it really embarrasses me and makes me feel ashamed, damned vultures!

BLOOD SUCKING THE POOR TO MAKE BILLIONS

ATTACKS ON LA SCHOOLS CONTINUE

Well, there’s hope beyond the power of money that China won’t buy into
Israel’s version of history, something not available in the West.

Threadjack, but you guys can’t miss this Israel stroking piece by David Brooks, the “gooey-eyed over Israel reporter.

Never underestimate the Israelis (with their US AIPAC supporters) to erect ever-new
hosts for their parasitic worm.

I don’t think the Israeli government and, for that matter, the majority of Israelis give a fuck what other people think of them as they are the “chosen people”. How else do you explain this jaw-dropping episode.

23 Chaos4700 January 12, 2010 at 5:23 pm

Wow. That just about deserves an article here in its own right. With the exception of singular Israelis like Shmuel here — who, you know, generally leave Israel sooner or later — I never fail to find just absolutely blatant racism in the very fabric of Israeli attitudes.

Incidentally, it doesn’t sound like that Turkish TV show is showing IDF soldiers doing anything out of character.

Incidentally… Danny Ayalon, huh? So is “Danny” a traditional Hebrew name, hmm? “Daniel” would be. “Danny?”

24 braciole January 12, 2010 at 5:37 pm

It’s getting better/worse. It looks like the Turkish ambassador is going home and might be staying there.

25 Chaos4700 January 12, 2010 at 5:50 pm

It’s about time Israel started suffering consequences for treating anyone who’s not Ashkenazi as if they were Israel’s personal house slaves.

26 sammy January 12, 2010 at 6:17 pm

There is something to be said for allowing people to think you’re a fool rather than proving it to them.

27 yonira January 12, 2010 at 6:42 pm

Ehhh Turkey’s military will continue to spend billions on Israeli weaponry, its not that big of a deal.

28 Chaos4700 January 12, 2010 at 6:47 pm

Keep thinking that when Israel costs us the NATO Alliance, yonira.

29 Chaos4700 January 12, 2010 at 7:09 pm

While you’re here, yonira, are you going to bother commenting on the actual article? Or is it just another crime that falls into your Zionist apologist blind spot?

30 aparisian January 12, 2010 at 7:43 pm

yonira the terrorism of the 3rd reich is going so far, i was watching earlier another piece about them http://www.youtube.com/user/PalestineSolidarity#p/a/u/1/fCwdDgE8UUI

“‘Ehhh Turkey’s military will continue to spend billions on Israeli weaponry, its not that big of a deal. ‘”

Turkey doesn’t spend billions on Israeli weaponry, which inceidentally is America weaponry.

32 Citizen January 12, 2010 at 5:43 pm

Oh Danny Pipes the pipes are calling , over every hill and dale, bleed those goy boys, those goy toys…. The yellow people are gonna be a harder piece of clay to build your Golem,,, Any new movie on this? All i see is the new version of Pocahontus, Avatarr…
Really hard to see the new Aryan soldier and his girl in the video clips coming out of IDF Israel and its OT…. Adam Sadler doesn’t quite cut it…

33 Citizen January 12, 2010 at 5:48 pm

I guess, is Friends what u should die for? How about Scrubs? Go only to small town and rural America–maybe you better cast those Jewish-looking characters as romantic vampires?
