Ashton Kutcher visits occupied Hebron, wearing an Israeli army hat. From Noam Sheizaf, with appropriate commentary.

Update: More from Sheizaf

Apparently Kutcher didn’t only visit Hebron and Jushua’s grave near Nablus on Sunday, but also stopped yesterday at Gush Etzion (south of Bethlehem), were he received a guided tour on the history of Jewish settlements in the region and had lunch . . .

Journalist and culture critic Dafna Lustig, who called Kutcher “a jerk” on her twitter account following his West bank visit, wrote today on walla.co.il [Hebrew] that “Kutcher demonstrated one of the most blind, ignorant and insensitive acts a guest to Israel can do.”

"If we assume Ashton Kutcher knew the story of the city of Hebron before the visit, then, like many others, he must believe that the occupation is legitimate and therefore does not have a problem taking this side side on the political map… [But if] Kutcher thinks Hebron is a legitimate tourist attraction just because he is not familiar with its history, than his visit is far more infuriating: we’re not in Beverly Hills and our problems won’t be concealed with the help of Botox. It’s the duty of every person, and certainly one who is so famous, to know where he is going (…) and if he doesn’t know and didn’t bother to find out, than I stand behind what I wrote on Twitter: he is simply a jerk."

Never hurts to “show the colors” to help jump start a Hollywood career. He is actually supposedly a fairly bright guy as he was discovered while pursuing an engineering career, if I recall correctly.

No sympathy from me though, if he takes any heat for this because any entertainer that voices concern for justice for Palestinians gets hammered.

“..Illinois Senate hopeful pulls out of Israel forum

    August 10, 2010

WASHINGTON (JTA) — The Illinois Democratic Party’s candidate for the U.S. Senate withdrew from a forum on Israel.

Alexi Giannoulias, the state treasurer, withdrew Monday from the forum, sponsored by the Protect Our Heritage public action committee and 16 other Jewish organizations, scheduled to be held later this month. His campaign said he had prior commitments.

The nonpartisan forum is held for Senate and House candidates. Participants can question the candidates on issues related to the U.S.-Israel relationship.

Giannoulias, along with his Republican opponent, Rep. Mark Kirk (R-Ill) and other local politicians, had agreed to participate in the forum months ago. Giannoulias’ campaign had confirmed his availability for the Aug. 22 forum in Northbrook, Ill., according to Protect Our Heritage…”

Do you think this guy has been told to flunk the race? With all the news about how Jews are so incredibly important to the WH, the Democratic Party and the big almighty campaign contributions — doesn’t anyone think this a little strange?

Ashton and his wife Demi are both kabbalists; they were married by a kabbalist rabbi. He wears the red string. Neither was born or reared Jewish.

It’s rare for absolutely nothing whatsoever of the person to come through in roles an actor takes. What roles does Kutcher take? Idiots, clods, buffoons all.

Ashton Kutcher is a poster boy for the ignorance and vacuity of Gen-X and Gen-Y in America … dumbed-down to the extreme

… and he gives his money, his time, and his reflected fame to a phony faux-Kabbalist celebrity cult that is no more credible than Scientology

    Kutcher is an idiot
