Univ. of Michigan students protest IDF speakers

This video was just posted from a silent protest yesterday during a presentation from two IDF soldiers at the University of Michigan. They certainly know how to clear out a room. The students are wearing the names of Palestinians killed by the IDF:

Am Palestine Chai. What a beautiful silent statement.

  2. Seham says:

    “Am Palestine Chai.”

Citizen, that would make a great t-shirt.

    Great video.

Rebranding Israel. Remember a few years ago an Israeli soldier with Breaking the Silence was starting a trip across the country to speak on college campuses. The young man was so articulate and spoke the truth from the heart I think Campus Watch squelched that effort.

Wonder were else these guys are going?

  4. Kathleen says:

So effective. Getting chills. Like watching the growth of the south Africa anti apartheid movement in the 70′s and 80′s.

Long time coming on campuses. But it is here. The dam has been broken. Chills

  5. Les says:

I presume this was part of their effort to recruit more Jewish Americans who would not dream of signing up for the US military. Whatever happened to the definition of traitor?

  6. annie says:

what a powerful statement. that brought tears to my eyes. and what the hell are idf speakers doing on our campuses?

SCREW THEM. don’t send them here!!!!!!

this video only has 345 views thus far. the only other place i could find it on the internet was reddit. this needs wide exposure.

something is wrong w/this youtube count. it is still @345. how can than be? when i googled ‘Univ. of Michigan students protest IDF speakers’ this morning it had no google presents except reddit as i mentioned , now it is all twittered up & on realclearpolitics and other sites yet is still says 345. hmm. one might assume the count was auto generated. somethings up w/that i suspect.

Awesome, brilliant, moral, inspirational. Kudos to the students.

The tireless women of Code Pink protested a Condi Rice appearance a few days ago. The crown are actually pretty hostile so I guess they’re GOP-firsters. Perhaps they learned something:

The best Condi can manage is to make some flip remarks about “democracy at work”.

I wonder if the dam has been broken as Kathleen says, not only about Israel but a re-awakening of anti-war movements. I guess when we start seeing protests at all of Bush III’s (Obama) events we know a corner has been turned.

  9. Avi says:

The desperation in the voice of the mark regev clone speaks volumes (No pun).

Did I see some of the students who did not participate in this protest walk out, too? It’s interesting that most of those who stayed in the room where males. Did anyone notice that?

  10. kalithea says:

Why are Zionists sending their military representatives to indoctrinate the youth of America?

    Silly me. Isn’t it obvious?

Thank God not all of us are their poodles or donkeys as the Rabbi Ovadia Yosef dreams we are.

    Wake up!

Is this really what education is about? I can’t imagine a good reason for a foreign soldier to address students in an American classroom, and I think it is silly that American students are wasting time on a silly protest over things that shouldn’t concern them. This event was stupid from both sides. I wonder if Chinese students waste their time with such nonsense? These students should be breathing down the necks of the people who invited this clown to speak.

Do you think the organisers will now think twice before setting up a similar event? I think they will.
