Dear Brandeis Alumni and Friends,
The Alumni Association is pleased to invite you to join Brandeis President Jehuda Reinharz, Ph.D. ’72, on Thursday, November 4 at 7:30 p.m. EDT for an interactive lecture and discussion. President Reinharz will explore “Israel on Campus.” This forum, online and accessible from your own computer, is a unique opportunity to hear from a renowned expert on Israel studies and ask questions in real-time.
President Reinharz will discuss:
* How is Israel perceived on American campuses today? [Not very well]
* Who are the detractors? [Your daughter, and her political and hipster friends]
* Why is Israel losing ground among contemporary college students and faculty? [They are liberals who voted for a black president; and so they feel a need to separate themselves from a Jim Crow political entity that is put forward as our closest ally, but half of whose population has no political representation, with the distinction between enfranchisement and disfranchisement being racial]
* What can be done about it? [See headline above]
