Ynet:
With victory in the congressional elections less than a day old, Florida Senator Marco Rubio (Rep.) who considers himself a 'Tea Party' member, is set to arrive in Israel on Sunday. Rubio's visit so soon after the election win is a move that strengthens assessments that the congress in its current form will continue where it left off – at least where Israel is concerned.
It also strengthens our desire to vomit and take to our death bed and get on to our next lives as porters on the Siberian railroad.
Oh, Laura Rozen reports: "Israel consulate in Miami arranging Rubio's trip, the embassy here tells me."
Does this scare you at all? Or are we just stone crazy? Help.

If Israel said the moon is made of chesse, we’d be expected to believe it or be labelled anti-semites!
So let’s all have a howl at the big cheese next full moon.
oooOOOOoooo!
“It also strengthens our desire to vomit and take to our death bed and get on to our next lives as porters on the Siberian railroad. ”
Now what did I do with the world’s tiniest violin?
“Does this scare you at all? Or are we just stone crazy? Help.”
Getting your worked up because someone from the Cuban exile community likes Israel is a little over the top.
Ah yes, hophmi, considering the wonderful things the Cuban exile lobby got the US involved with, we should consider it our lucky day!
Yes, hophmi, I do get a little bit worked up at the prospect of my country falling even further under the domination of a foreign state.
The fact that you think America is “under the domination of a foreign state” says it all.
I think Bibi “Are you sure the mike’s off” Netanyahu stated it quite clearly.
“I know what America is,” Netanyahu replied. “America is a thing you can move very easily, move it in the right direction. They won’t get in their way.”
Right, hophmi, that’s why after the US elections the first thing that happens is the new congress people are taken on a taxpayer paid junket to Israel; our AIPACers acted a few days faster this time, so anxious were they to get the new Tea Party people on board for the standard post-election indocrination reserved for newbies in the US Congress. When they get back here they will be ready to talk about axing foreign aid in public as soon as foreign aid to Israel is switched under a different budget/control umbrella. And they will be ready to go along with the Jewish congress people now pushing to deny the latest sale of military hardware to Saudi Arabia, which is, after all,
not “our only reliable ally in the Middle East,” but merely a chief oil state of no significant US geo-strategic interest which fought in a war alongside us and is a counter balance to Iran. After all, “we” cannot have this: Saudi prince rules out engagement with Israel until Arab land is returned.

Further, there is reasonable evidence Israel knew about the 9/11 attack before it happened but did not warn us, e.g., the 5 dancing Israelis on the van, filiming that event as it happened, while in contrast the Saudis recently warned us about those bombs mailed here & headed for Jewish American destinations. Saudis even ferreted out and gave us the package numbers so evil intent was thwarted.
Castro, himself, puts in a word against anti-Semitism recently — a word that sounded less than helpful for Palestinians. so why not a Cuban exile, particularly a USA pol?
I think your outrage is legitimate. Those who don’t see a problem when elected representatives of the AMERICAN people suck up to a foreign country which apparently likes to kill Americans (Furkan Dogan, Rachel Corrie, the sailors on the USS Liberty) or wound them (Tristan Anderson, Emily Hechonowitz, countless others) and runs one of the largest spying operations inside the US, those are stone crazy.
“Does this scare you at all? ”
Not sure this changes the equation with the I/P issue.
do you guys know the percentages on how many Jewish voters went for Rubio?
Jewish voters are irrelevant. The issue is Jewish money. When Rubio takes the pilgrimage to kiss the Zionist soil, he’ll be paying his debt and making sure the money keeps flowing into his coffers.
But why are the Jewish-American moneybags such diehard supporters of Israel? What’s in it for them?
Missing education? Never heard anything else than hasbara? Having bunkered all their black money in Israel? Want the mossad protect their business interests? Choose youself. I think, in practice it will be a mix of this and some more reasons.
Potsherd is dead right. Jews voted mostly democratic in the midterm elections, except for an orthodox jewish sector in Illinois. The new Latino boy wonder of ideas is now on a plane to Israel. He’s meeting up with Florida multiple billionaire, Norman Braman, a Jewish monybags who helped him in his campaign. Israel is the perfect place for payback, eh?
Rubio’s wifey will take in the romantic sites while the boys get down to American business, which means Israeli business, in a homey spot, probably Tel Aviv. This signals the highest recognition of the Israel Firsters that they need to get the rising Latinos in the USA on board the Israel Express. La Raza, hossanah, mazel tov!

It nevers fails to strike me how the teabaggers can oppose a welfare state in the USA which presumably would benefit the majority of American citizens, yet support the existence of a warfare state which seems designed to support and benefit a minority of American citizens while tenderly cossetting the interests of a foreign state.
Yep, looks like Bibi and his ilk were the clear winners on Tuesday.
Will POTUS Obama finally wake up now, realize who and what he is dealing with both inside and outside the US, and speak and act accordingly?
Stayed tuned, folks; though I doubt that the news will be good.
That’s possible because the teabaggers is a manufactured movement designed to siphon off and dissipate the energy in American society that normally goes to libertarianism. They’re dumbed-down libertarians.
I don’t agree with the domestic libertarian agenda – I think governments can provide social services efficiently (see: any 1st world country outside the US) – but Ron Paul has just about the most sensible foreign policies of any politician out there, and that has to terrify anybody involved in the military/industrial complex because their business model is essentially anti-free market, and based instead on milking the US taxpayer dry. Libertarians would put an end to that. Teabaggers are too uninformed (thanks Fox) to notice the logical inconsistencies in their platform.
To everyone who voted for the tea party, and who wants “a smaller government, less deficit spending, and more jobs”: First of all, I hope ya’ll become America Firsters (not Israel, not Iraq, Afghanistan, and not Pakistan). Second, there’s a large building in Washington eating up half the budget each year: the Pentagon with it’s 700 useless overseas military bases and it’s useless wars leaving nothing left for America. Cut the military budget like the UK did so we can borrow less from China (that is if you really support America First). Third, get over the words “liberal” and “conservative” because it’s been a long time since either word applies to what people are doing today: if someone is an America Firster, that’s good enough for me and let the devil take the hind-most. We don’t need to be calling one another names when there’s work to do, and if you’re out of work you know exactly what I’m sayin’. There’s millions of Americans going to bed hungry, including kids, so let’s stop sending billions of our dollars down overseas rabbit-holes when there is crying need right here in America. Now Tea-baggers, let’s go to Washington and really shake things up!
Cogit, but who will save us from the billions of Muslims out to get us, and to murder our love of Jesus? Don’t you back the jewish brainschild in congress who is moving to separate Israel from our foreign aid budget so we can othewise whack away at all those other countries we send our aid to, so we can feed our own starving kids? I see no problem in saving the chunk of change to Israel and still flying the Don’t Tread On Me in the office, but we will have to do something about Egypt, which will want us to save their aid too–after all, that’s akin to saving Israel through the back door and the two aid packages to those states comprise the bulk of ALL our foreign aid… oh well the aid to Africa and the Palestinians will help a few of our own starving kids; even us Tea Partiers have to compromise with our bent for smaller government.
Will the Tea baggers in congress realize that bombing Iran is a waste of dollars? A folly of unintended consequences (just like Iraq)? link to haaretz.com
I didn’t see any indication the tea baggers have a clue about foreign policy, except the original ones, the Ron Paul followers. (Some Dennis Kucinich followers too.)
The Israeli settlers are jumping for joy. Obama got slapped down for his Cairo speech in their minds. They now hope for Hillary in 2012 to keep freshening their settlements. Or Pallin.
So nothing changed. Marco Rubio knows where US politicians since decades have to go to receive their orders from first hand.
While US pols pay court to Jerusalem (is this something like the European nations of 500yrs ago paying court to Rome?), another Brit official slams the Gaza situation and says settlementts a major obstacle

Let me see if I understand,
the reeeeeeeeally shocking thing is that even a representative of the white, racist, paranoid, petty bourgeois pseudo-revolutionary pseudo-movement kowtows the line on Israel. That must be the end of the world for you jeff? After all, if even the most racist segment of the US political spectrum isn’t biting, then the whole strategy of appealing to white racism against Israel is hopeless. Isn’t it? You ARE throwing in the towel, aren’t you?
Well, I guess the teabaggers have failed the test. They aren’t far enough to the right. What next?
