Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, the chair of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, tells the Miami Herald editorial board that for the first year Obama was "really tough" on Israel, making many statements against the settlements, "until the American Jewish community started getting mad and getting mad at President Obama and saying Stop the pressure on Israel, why don't we force the Palestinians to get on the negotiating table-- get around the negotiating table, not on it-- and negotiate with Israel and I would say that right now the pressure has subsided a lot."
Huh. Memo to Chris Matthews: Not a word about those fearsome Christian Zionists!
Ros-Lehtinen makes a big mistake in this video: "Palestinians deserve peace also because they love their children and Israelis love their children also. There's no difference there." Wait, they love their children!

What’s that old saw about the harest thing about riding a tiger is dismounting?
I await the day when Ms. Ros-Lehtinen gets herself crosswise to these political gangsters and kneecappers and armbusters. Turnabout will be such fair play. And she’ll see at last all the gratitude she will have garnered for years of servile, supine, thrall-like fetching and carrying on behalf of The Israel Lobby.
So she admits that US Jews control US foreign policy. And brags about it.
She may wrongly imagine this means letters from little-guys, but she won’t be far wrong if she meant contributions from big-money-boys, who don’t have to be Jews, but if you DO blame Jews for the USA’s awful policy, you can manufacture a (seemingly willing) scape-goat in case there is need to change the policy. All this pro-Israel business is (IMO) “bad” for “the Jews”.
“Palestinians deserve peace also because they love their children”
How about because it’s their land and has nothing to do with fairytales?
Israel is fair from a fairytale. There is an internationally recognized state of Israel. That is the reality. There was never a state of Palestine.
This is the closet the Palestinian people have ever been to having a state, the arm-chair activists are the biggest obstacle to realizing that state.
“Israel is (far) from a fairytale”
Truer words were never spoken.
Thanks for the help, spelled closest wrong too. the proof reader on my ziobot 2000 needs an update.
You mean masada2000 ?
>> Israel is fair from a fairytale.
The claim to land was pure fairytale. But you’re right: The oppressive, thieving, colonialist, destructive, Zio-supremacist Israel that currently exists is closer to nightmare than to fairytale.
>> There is an internationally recognized state of Israel.
What are the internationally-recognized borders of the internationally-recognized state of Israel?
“There was never a state of Palestine. ”
++++ True. So ?
In fact there was never either a state called Israel before of 1948. And before 1700-1800 not a single state in the world as we see them today. Because so called “nation-states” is creation of 1700- beginning of 1800 years.
Keep repeating these old hasbara jokes….
um the kingdom of Israel.
May you DBG always wastefully stumble on deniers, deniers and more deniers – till you yourself stop denying others their realism, their existence and their FULL human rights.
There was never a state of Palestine
Palestine, apart from its biblical name since 800 BC, became a country in 15th C AD.
??? there was?
” There was never a state of Palestine. ”
Zionists keep saying this as though it were important. But why is it important? What is it supposed to imply?
“This is the closet the Palestinian people have ever been to having a state”
And this is another misconception. The big issue isn’t “a state for the Palestinians”. It is “the right of Palestinians to live in Palestine as full and equal citizens.” This right was denied them by the Zionists. That is what needs to be restored.
not really as most well all of the countries recognizing Israel are in violation of treaty duties by doing so. hell the US recognizition is a violation of US law via the UN constitution.
true however the mandate of palestine recognized the right of the palestinians to have sovriegnty over palestine. the british sovriegnty was held in trust and was the palestinian right.
How about because its their land and Israel continues to steal more of it and they love their children. Ros Letinnen is one of the major Israeli firsters in congress driving our nation closer to a military intervention in Iran and isolating Palestinians.

May all our israeli flag-waving senators and congressmen justifiably face our public courts for treason sooner than later.
There is sooo much documentation of this crime by the political zio brigade that it should be easy as pie to convict them once the tables have fully turned – and they will. By universal law the tables MUST turn!
Ros Lehtinen has done everything in her power to isolate Hamas after the internationally recognized fair election. Ros Lehtinen works harder for Israel than she works for the US.
When our Reps take that oath they state that they will protect the US from enemies within and without. Ros Lehtinen is an enemy of the US from within
This is sad for american people. Nobody can serve two masters, and Ros Lehtinen is classic example of that.

YET ANOTHER MUSICAL INTERLUDE (brought to the Mondoweiss community courtesy of the kind, caring folks at Ziocaine®):

• “the Russians Love Their Children Too”, Sting, at Red Rocks (VIDEO, 04:49) – link to youtube.com
P.S. But does Ros-Lehtinen believe the Cubans love their children too?
P.P.S. I really like the orchestral conductor in the Budapest video. He’s so über “kinetic!” A little less so at Red Rock.
Obama has been as tough on Israel as he has been on Wall Street banksters.
State GOP buys ultra-Orthodox support at expense to NYC schools
Last week The New York Times reported that while New York State is reducing funding to state universities by 10% and New York City is being forced to slash thousands of teaching jobs due to draconian budget cuts, ultra-Orthodox yeshiva students, many of whom are already living on the government dole, are receiving an additional $18 million in tuition assistance to attend unaccredited rabbinical schools.
Today City Hall News reports that a quid pro quo deal was made between the state GOP and the ultra-Orthodox Agudath Israel of America, which offered in exchange for the tuition assistance support for a Republican contender to state senator Carl Kruger’s seat which may be vacated should he be convicted of the corruption charges he’s presently facing.
