‘Washington Times’ yanks Weiner-married-Muslim-agenda piece

This just in,The Washington Times has pulled its crazy Eleana Benador piece about Anthony Weiner being "married to a Muslim agenda" because he married Huma Abedin. But the piece is still cited on the Times home page as the most-read piece at the site, even though the link goes nowhere. Thanks to Salon's Justin Elliott, who reports that the piece is under "review."

  1. Will the WT issue a “what were we thinking” mea culpa? I’d be curious to know their reasoning.

Stuff like this should be immortalized ina Hall of Shame of Questionable Commentary.

Maybe that’sthe next feature for this site?

The dynamics behind this about-face might be fun. Did the Israel Lobby call to say that Benador was attacking one of Israel’s five most fanatical friends in Congress?

  3. marc b. says:

and what of the e.golub’s explication of weiner’s self-loathing and american female jewish sexuality? i suppose that golub’s piece is merely stupid, and lacks the ‘critical’ political analysis of what’s-her-face’s column. or does ms. abedin carry more ‘muscle’ in DC? oh, no, more grist for the bentadoor conspiracy mill.

I simply cannot why understand why Mondoweiss is perpetuating the canard that Rep. Anthony Weiner has any views or any history on I-P issues. Take a look at this.
Why, if Weiner had any strong views on I-P issues, I’m sure Josh Marshall would have mentioned them in this piece.

    • Citizen says:

Showing a photo of Weiner naked, Jon Stewart directly implied he looked like an ugly Jewish Ken doll. Maybe he should contact the maker of Barbi dolls and recommend himself as the lastest twist surprize package gift for the little American girls to add to their collection at Xmas time? Could be part of his Plan B, along with joining Spitzer on MSNBC. He could come complete with a little AIPAC muscle T shirt.

What a bunch of bullshit attempting to spin Weiners solid voting for Israel and the I lobbies policies as well as persistently lying about the facts on the ground in the conflict as pro Arab. Total absolute horseshit

And yet this wacky diatribe from the Washington Times’ Eric Golub lives on in the Washington Slimes. The “silent Holocaust” represented by Weiner marrying a shiksa. Sickening new angle on Weinergate.

Whaddya mean it goes nowhere? I got a nifty pop-up ad for Publisher’s Clearing House for a chance to win 5,000 a week for life. That ain’t chump change…

What racist crap, diluting race, etc. Same stuff they said about inter-racial marriage.

  8. Avi says:

So what view does the article advance? Is it claiming that his exposing himself to a minor is the fault of his Muslim wife?

You mean there won’t be a sleaze piece connecting Weiner with Judaism, AIPAC and Israel?

It’s good to know that Muslims are the West’s standby scapegoats. But, wait until election time and then Hispanics will become America’s favorite cooties carriers. And that reminds me of the racist Lou Dobbs with his Leprosy stories about Mexicans.
