The world watched Barack Obama lose a battle in the last two years with Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over Israeli settlement expansion in contested and occupied territories. This is like the Soviet Union having lost a war of wills at the height of its power with Cuba.
The client state trumped the President of the United States — telegraphing to many around the world that President Obama ultimately didn’t have the courage of his convictions and wasn’t able to deploy power and statecraft to achieve the outlines of what he called for in his lofty rhetoric. Obama’s UN General Assembly speech has done nothing to reverse the impression that Netanyahu is the alpha dog in the relationship with President Obama — and this is truly tragic and geostrategically consequential.
I agree, but I doubt most Americans noticed, and that’s all that counts; the US mainstream media will make sure they never notice. Does 42 US UNSC vetos ring a bell?

Obama didn’t put the Palestinians at the back of the bus. He threw them under the bus for the sake of his 2012 campaign.
The lobby plays the fact that the 2 power blocs in the US are at war with each other. Court politics.
The Alawis in Syria have been playing the lobby game since Assad the father took over. They have 12% of the population which is far more than AIPAC can muster in the Jewish community.
It happened last week in Latvia where the Russian minority party won . The native Latvian vote split , the Russians voted en bloc so the Russians won with the biggest % of the vote.
It has the potential to be lethal for the Jewish crowd in the US if it goes wrong. Which it most likely will.
