Bill Kristol: ‘We need to hear’ that Obama has gone to war on Iran

Bill Kristol writing at the Weekly Standard. Remember, Kristol is the voice of the neoconservative bloc in the establishment. Kristol and Robert Kagan and Bill Bennett wrote 10 years ago that George Bush should attack Iraq because "Israel's fight against terrorism is our fight." And Kristol got his way. This is the one reason I have sympathy for Obama on his capitulation to Netanyahu; he is doing everything to stave off the powerful forces that are calling for war against Iran. His saber-rattling in response to the kooky car-salesman plot is Obama's way of propitiating a powerful constituency inside the Democratic Party too; on Fox News today Dianne Feinstein said, "The question is, Do we want to go to war with Iran at this time?" and though she said, No, our hands are full, she is obviously part of the problem. Kristol:

It’s long since been time for the United States to speak to this regime in the language it understands—force.

And now we have an engraved invitation to do so. The plot to kill the Saudi ambassador ...

So we can stop talking. Instead, we can follow the rat lines in Iraq and Afghanistan back to their sources, and destroy them. We can strike at the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), and weaken them. And we can hit the regime’s nuclear weapons program, and set it back. Lest the administration hesitate to act out of fear of lack of support at home, Congress should consider authorizing the use of force against Iranian entities that facilitate attacks on our troops, against IRGC and other regime elements that sponsor terror, and against the regime’s nuclear weapons program...

The next speech we need to hear from the Obama administration should announce that, after 30 years, we have gone on the offensive against this murderous regime. And the speech after that can celebrate the fall of the regime, and offer American help to the democrats building a free and peaceful Iran.

In case you haven’t got it, both the Arabs (Iraq …) and the Persians are Nazis.

The plot to kill the Saudi ambassador was a lemon. Statesmanship involves turning lemons into lemonade.

It may be an inferior plot, but it surely is another seize-the-day, carpe diem scenario.

Kristol is a rat, and it’s crystal clear where his lines lead back to.

he’s going to regret writing this. Arbabsiar is one of the silliest schemes ever to hatch from FBI psy-ops. some washed up used car salesman thinks he can solve his current economic crisis by making some fast money selling drugs. only he runs into an informant who wants to talk some B.S. about hypothetical spy-vs-spy. heck, who doesn’t discuss James Bond theoreticals, especially when they’re having a drink, smoking a doobie, and somebody else steers the conversation in that direction? i’m guessing we won’t ever see an unedited version of it.

it’s not even a plot. it’s a complete fabrication. one of the most transparent frauds ever conceived.

Proton, I doubt Billy Boy knows what regret is; just as I doubt he ever will know. In case something goes wrong, all the people that matter–which are the same that matter to him–will know that it was the right thing to do anyway. Someone else will be declared guilty.

This is how out of touch these fuckin’ monsters are with the American people. Do you know anyone that wants MORE WAR in this crumbling economy?

Kristol’s satanic like musings and advocations serve to underscore how terrified we should be of candidates such as Perry, Cain, or Bachman, who have shown a willingness to embrace the insane ideas these maniacs like Kristol extol.

Kristol and his like minded cabal of neo-con satanists are a danger to us all, the entire global community. How ironic that the racist little sandpit of Israel has a following of advocates who are so close to amassing the power to bring mankind to the brink. We will all suffer for the machinations of a hateful few, emboldened by our President’s posturing and cowardice. Obama’s lack of backbone and conviction has greased the skids for these monsters to slide and ooze back into power.

SEE: “New Confederacy Rising”, By Theo Anderson, In These Times, 10/05/11
“Testing, once again, whether this nation can long endure.”

(excerpt)…For the Confederacy that now dominates the GOP, truth is solid and fixed and divinely embedded in the structure of the universe. Humanity’s responsibility is to accept and believe the truth rather than test ideas against actual experience. The Confederacy’s obsession with “originalist” interpretations of the Constitution—a twin of biblical literalism—is the classic example: truth must be eternal, universal.
Pragmatists and progressives defer to experts and professionals. They expect truth claims to be supported by evidence that emerges from research and testing. They put their faith in this process, and in the communities of inquiry—the disciplines—legitimized by secular institutions of higher education.
The new Confederacy rejects that process wholesale. Its leaders and authorities are the spiritual descendants of the conservative Christians and charismatic radio preachers who broke away from religious modernism in the 1920s and 1930s. For these leaders and their followers, faith justifies—and verifies—itself. You don’t believe an idea because it’s true. It’s true because you believe it.
This is why, in the “real America” of Bachmann, Palin and Perry, it is self-evident that cutting taxes increases revenues; the founders were evangelical Christians; evolution is bunk; climate change is a hoax; the United States has the best healthcare system in the world; we can transform the Middle East into a garden of democracy; Kenya native Barack Obama has slashed the military budget; the war on drugs is worth the cost; and so on. These are all leaps of faith. The new Confederates flat-out reject or ignore any counter-evidence, because they have their own fount of truth. FOX News is the obvious example, but decades before the rise of FOX—going back to the early 20th century radio evangelists—conservatives had been quietly building their own media and networks for “truth” telling…

What did they do? Why didn’t they speak up? (Mondoweiss doesn’t count. This is an oasis for plain talk; MW is just the water-cooler.)

SEE: The Second Herzl ~ by Uri Avnery, Antiwar.com, 10/17/11

(excerpt)…an ethnic-religious community, living for millennia as a persecuted minority in a hostile environment, acquires a mentality of its own. It fears the “goyish” government, the source of unending evil edicts. It sees everyone outside the community as a potential enemy, unless proven otherwise (and even then). It develops an intense sense of solidarity with members of its own community, even a thousand miles away, supporting them through thick and thin, whatever they do. In their helpless situation, the persecuted dream of a day of revenge, when they can do unto others as others have done unto them.
All this pervades their worldview, their religion, and their traditions, transmitted from generation to generation. Jews have prayed to God for centuries, year after year, on Pesach eve: “Pour your wrath upon the goyim….”
When the Zionists started to arrive [in Palestine] and founded the new community, called the “Yishuv” (settlement), it seemed that Herzl had been right. They started to behave like the embryo of a real nation. They discarded religion and despised the Diaspora. To be called an “exile Jew” was the worst possible insult. They saw themselves as “Hebrew” rather than Jewish. They started to build a new society and a new culture.
And then the awful thing happened: the Holocaust.
It brought all the old Jewish convictions back with a vengeance..
Not only the Germans were the guilty, but all the nations who looked on and did not lift a finger to save the victims. So all the old beliefs were true after all: The whole world is against the Jews; we must defend ourselves whatever it takes; we can only rely on ourselves. The attitude of the Yishuv toward Jewishness and the Diaspora was a terrible mistake; we must repent and embrace everything we despised only yesterday: Jewish religion, Jewish traditions, the Jewish shtetl.
The late Professor Yeshayahu Leibowitz, an observant Jew, maintained that the Jewish religion had died 200 years ago and that the one thing that linked the Jews all over the world was the Holocaust.
Right from its founding, the State of Israel became the Holocaust state. But we are not a helpless ghetto anymore — we have powerful armed forces; we can indeed do unto others as others have done unto us…
The old existential fears, mistrusts, suspicions, hatreds, prejudices, stereotypes, sense of victimhood, and dreams of revenge that were born in the Diaspora have superimposed themselves on the state, creating a very dangerous mixture of power and victimhood, brutality and masochism, militarism and the conviction that the whole world is against us. A ghetto with nuclear weapons…

MY COMMENT: That’s why I sometimes (only half-jokingly) refer to the Dissociative State of Israel.

          FROM WIKIPEDIA:

(excerpt) Dissociation is an altered state of consciousness characterized by partial or complete disruption of the normal integration of a person’s normal conscious or psychological functioning.[1]
Dissociation is most commonly experienced as a subjective perception of one’s consciousness being detached from one’s emotions, body and/or immediate surroundings.[2] Van der Kolk et al.[3] describe dissociation as a “compartmentalization of experience.” Under normal conditions, consciousness, memory, emotions, sensory awareness, affect, etc., are integrated; with dissociation, in contrast, these traits are discretely compartmentalized to greater or lesser degrees.
Dissociation describes a wide array of experiences that can affect any aspect of a person’s mental functioning.[4][5][6][7] Although some dissociative disruptions involve amnesia, other dissociative events do not.[8] At one end of a continuum, dissociation describes such common events as becoming lost in thought while driving a vehicle and not recalling parts of the journey. At the other end of the continuum are a cluster of dissociative disorders, such as dissociative amnesia, that can occur in response to severe psychological trauma such as rape or military combat. In such cases of abuse or trauma, dissociation can be regarded as a coping mechanism to help with an overwhelming experience.[9]…

‘Jews have prayed to God for centuries, year after year, on Pesach eve: “Pour your wrath upon the goyim….”’

Is this true? Do Jews really ask God to smite the rest of us?

        • Shmuel says:

          RoHa,

The prayer added to the Haggadah (Passover eve liturgy) in the wake of the Crusader massacres reads: “Pour out your wrath on the nations that know you not, and on kingdoms that call not upon your name.” Like most ancient liturgy, it can be interpreted and contextualised. Nevertheless, the editors of most liberal Haggadot have chosen to omit it entirely.

Personally speaking, I don’t mind if members of other faiths wish to pray for my conversion or chastisement, although I would rather they didn’t call me “perfidious”. It makes me feel like Albion ;-)

        • Hostage says:

Is this true? Do Jews really ask God to smite the rest of us?

No, only some of the “observant” ones. You can read about that here:
          link to huffingtonpost.com

        • RoHa says:

So only the more traditional and observant Jews ask God to bury us alive, burn us up, kill all our firstborn, afflict us with plagues and boils, and so on.

          That’s comforting to know.

        • Shmuel says:

The My People’s Passover Haggadah mentioned in the HuffPo article Hostage linked to does include the prayer, but it also includes a frank discussion of its history and problematic nature. One would expect no less of a prayer book billed as “Traditional Texts, Modern Commentaries”.

        • Shmuel says:

So only the more traditional and observant Jews ask God to bury us alive, burn us up, kill all our firstborn, afflict us with plagues and boils, and so on.

The request is not that detailed (just generic wrath, anger and destruction), and refers only to nations and kingdoms that have been up to no good. Do you have a guilty conscience?

        • Hostage says:

So only the more traditional and observant Jews ask God to bury us alive, burn us up, kill all our firstborn, afflict us with plagues and boils, and so on.

Some do, but even among traditional Jews opinion has always been divided between the “big tent” universalists (ala Amos 9) and the particularists.

        • RoHa says:

“The request is not that detailed (just generic wrath, anger and destruction),”

I have read the OT, and that is the sort of thing God does.

“Do you have a guilty conscience?”

Who, me? No, honest, guv, I’ve never done anything to feel guilty about.

          Straight up.

          Nothing at all.

          Nothing on my conscience.

Innocent as a babe, I am.

          Really.

          Trust me.

        • RoHa says:

“a frank discussion of its history and problematic nature.”

“Problematic” seems a mild term for a prayer which makes Jews the enemies of humanity.

        • Shmuel says:

“Problematic” seems a mild term for a prayer which makes Jews the enemies of humanity.

I missed the “enemies of humanity” bit. It is a prayer calling upon God to punish those who “do not know him”. Those who do know God, have nothing to worry about. Taken in its historical context, it is an outcry against persecution, not a call for the destruction of humanity. Now, back to your guilty conscience …

        • RoHa says:

“It is a prayer calling upon God to punish those who “do not know him”.”

Since a large chunk of humanity has no idea of the Jewish God, it seems a pretty anti-social thing to call for. And what is involved in the “knowing”, anyway?

And my conscience is clean, I tell you. Clean!

        • Shmuel says:

Since a large chunk of humanity has no idea of the Jewish God, it seems a pretty anti-social thing to call for. And what is involved in the “knowing”, anyway?

Well, that’s where the context part comes in. The mediaeval European author of the prayer was not particularly interested in the niceties of theology (which would probably have had little if any problem with most monotheists anyway – sorry about the pagans), but in a specific group of non-knowers, i.e. murdering, raping, pillaging hordes on their way to the Holy Land to fight the infidel. Subsequent generations have understood the prayer in a similar vein – as a reference to persecutors, not non-Jews in general.

In modern times, Jews, like their Christian counterparts, have revisited their liturgy, sometimes interpreting or changing, and sometimes eliminating entire prayers. Nice traditionalists are loath to give up the old words but try to explain or rationalise them (more or less convincingly), while nasty traditionalists do whatever it is nasty traditionalists do.

So, are you or have you ever been a persecutor? If not, you have nothing to worry about. If you don’t believe in divine wrath or the power of prayer, you have even less to worry about, although you can never be too careful. You do have a lightning rod, of course. You don’t? Oh dear.

        • Woody Tanaka says:

“Not only the Germans were the guilty, but all the nations who looked on and did not lift a finger to save the victims. ”

You would think that the Second World War didn’t happen…

        • Hostage says:

nasty traditionalists do whatever it is nasty traditionalists do.

They unfortunately end-up on the hilltops of Judea and Samaria or in Silwan claiming to be God’s agents ushering-in a Messianic era. Nothing in their tradition allows for peaceful co-existence with gentile inhabitants of Eretz Israel who do not know God. Their animosity and continual provocations of the neighbors, coupled with the traditional Jewish sense of entitlement and victim-hood, inevitably lead to preemptive attacks against the gentiles and any Jewish co-conspirator/friends of the gentiles. There is ample evidence of that pattern of violence in the biblical injunction against Amalek, the tradition of Purim, Baruch Goldstein, and etc. See for example Sheikh Jarrah Jews praise Baruch Goldstein on Purim

As for members of Peace Now, B’Tselem, Jewish Voice for Peace, & etc. They are considered traitors and pursuers. The Rabbis ruled: “If someone is coming to kill you, rise early and kill him first”. See for example the Babylonian Talmud Sanhedrin 72a; Baba Kamma 117a; Berakoth 58a & etc. link to halakhah.com

        • RoHa says:

“You would think that the Second World War didn’t happen…”

Indeed, Woody. This “all the nations looked on and did not lift a finger to save the victims” is one of the most insulting things that the persecution peddlers* say.

          It is sickening.

*Not Avnery, of course. He is just quoting them.

        • For many, if not most, secondary schools in California, the study of World War II is dominated by focusing on the Jewish holocaust from reading The Diary of Ann Frank in the 7th grade to Eli Wiesel’s “Night” as freshmen.

Thanks to the strong arm efforts of organizations like the ADL and the Wiesenthal Center, secondary school teachers are provided with polished teaching aids to get their story across and in many instances, when available, Jewish holocaust survivors are invited to tell of their experiences in the classroom.

Under the circumstances and given the teachers’ tightly crammed schedule, learning about other aspects of the war is limited and unless a teacher acts on her or his personal initiative, students learn next to nothing about the genocidal war against native Americans that was extensive in the state, even in the very areas where those acts of genocide took place and native American students are in the classroom, such as where I live.

        • RoHa says:

Do they learn that non-Jewish Americans actually did a bit of fighting against the Nazis?

I don’t expect them to learn that the British, the French, the Dutch, the Danes, the Norwegians, the Czechs, the Poles, the Greeks, the Yugoslavs, the Australians, the New Zealanders, and the Canadians fought against the Nazis.

I don’t expect them to learn that armies of black Africans, white Africans, Hindus, Sikhs, and Muslims fought against the Nazis.

I certainly don’t expect them to learn that Soviet Union played the major role in destroying the Nazis.

But I would hope that they learn that a few Americans fired the odd, angry, shot.

The medical profession in particular has been hollowed out. Iraq’s health-care system used to be the envy of the Arab world. But after the U.S. invasion, doctors became targets for ransom kidnappings and assassination. Upwards of 120 physicians were killed. Some were gunned down in their own clinics. Things got worse than ever after 2005, when loyalists of the radical cleric Moqtada al-Sadr gained control of the Health Ministry. Hospitals turned into Shiite militia bases where Sunnis could be killed on sight. The Sadrists are in retreat now, but the doctors are still missing. The current health minister, Salih Hasnawi, estimates that roughly half the country’s doctors have fled, from a prewar total of as many as 30,000 or more.

(excerpts)…[Haim] Saban, in a 2004 New York Times interview,[3] ascribed his interest in politics to his concern for Israel: “I’m a one-issue guy and my issue is Israel.”[3]…
…In pursuit of his concerns, Saban was described in 2004 as “throwing his weight and money around Washington and, increasingly, the world, trying to influence all things Israeli.”[3]…
…Later, in a 2006 interview for the Israeli newspaper Haaretz[1], Saban was asked to elaborate…
You meet frequently and quite intimately with Israeli and American decision-makers. What do you tell than about the situation regarding Iran?
“The Iranians are serious. They mean business. [Mahmoud] Ahmadinejad is not a madman. [....] When I see Ahmadinejad, I see Hitler. They speak the same language. His motivation is also clear: the return of the Mahdi is a supreme goal. And for a religious person of deep self-persuasion, that supreme goal is worth the liquidation of five and a half million Jews. We cannot allow ourselves that. Nuclear weapons in the hands of a religious leadership that is convinced that the annihilation of Israel will bring about the emergence of a new Muslim caliphate? Israel cannot allow that.. This is no game. It’s truly an existential danger..”[1]…
…Saban has been a generous and consistent donor to the United States Democratic Party according to his mandatory Federal Election Commission filings…
…During the 2000 presidential election, Saban increased his rank to 5th among individual donors with a combined contribution of $1,250,500.[14] Matthew Yglesias wrote that “Saban was the largest overall contributor to the Democratic National Committee during the 2001–2002 cycle” and related the support from Saban to the fact that “the party leadership was backing the Iraq War and Terry McAuliffe was DNC chair.”[15] Saban’s donations during that 2001–2002 period exceeded $10 million, the largest donation the DNC has received from a single source up to that time

Mencken described politicians as “men who, at some time or other, have compromised with their honour, either by swallowing their convictions or by whooping for what they believe to be untrue.”[1] “Vanity remains to him,” Mencken wrote, “but not pride.”[2] The Sage of Baltimore had it correct, that to be elected and stay elected in American politics to any full-time position requires the suspension of any ethics or good sense a person may possess. Even those who begin political careers with the best intentions and have measurable abilities that would make them successful in any field soon realize that the skills required to succeed in politics are not those required outside politics. Lew Rockwell explains that, while competition in the marketplace improves quality, competition in politics does just the opposite:

The only improvements take place in the process of doing bad things: lying, cheating, manipulating, stealing, and killing. The price of political services is constantly increasing, whether in tax dollars paid or in the bribes owed for protection (also known as campaign contributions). There is no obsolescence, planned or otherwise. And as Hayek famously argued, in politics, the worst get on top. And there is no accountability: the higher the office, the more criminal wrongdoing a person can get away with.[3]

Thus it becomes “a psychic impossibility for a gentleman to hold office under the Federal Union,” wrote Mencken.[4] Democracy makes it possible for the demagogue to inflame the childish imagination of the masses, “by virtue of his talent for nonsense.”[5] The king can do the same thing in a monarchy but only by virtue of his birth.”

Competition in the marketplace is unlikely to improve quality either, given the sheer insanity of the financial markets and influence of global and domestic politics. There are other arguments and theories (‘natural elite’?) in this particular article with which one might seriously disagree. Still:

“Because democracy is open to any and all who can get elected — either through connections, personality, or personal wealth — it is a social system where leadership positions become a hotbed for sociopaths. Maslow’s self-actualizing man won’t have an interest in politics. But those stuck on the need for esteem are drawn to it like flies to dung. With leadership in such dysfunctional hands, it is no wonder. “In comparison to the nineteenth century, the cognitive prowess of the political and intellectual elites and the quality of public education have declined,” Hoppe writes in Democracy.[11] “And the rates of crime, structural unemployment, welfare dependency, parasitism, negligence, recklessness, incivility, psychopathy, and hedonism have increased.”[12] So while the electorate recognizes that they are electing at best incompetents and at worst crooks, the constant, naïve, prodemocracy mantra is that “we just need to elect the right people.”
But the “right people” aren’t (and won’t be) running for office. Instead, we will continue to have “the average American legislator [who] is not only an ass,” as Mencken wrote, “but also an oblique, sinister, depraved and knavish fellow.”

At the very least, ‘the right people’ in America will feel like Dante: “I lost all hope of going up the Hill”. Horrific wild beasts, lobbyists, journalists and fellow politicians, lurk in every corner. And it may be time to display the famous inscription on the gate to hell in government buildings and voting booths around the country: “”Lasciate ogne speranza, voi ch’intrate”. I think the Italians get it, and are way ahead of other people in Western democracies. Why get rid of Berlusconi? The next occupant will be or become different only in style, and the taxpayer only gets to foot the bill for redecorating offices and private residences. Obama is driving home the message for Americans and non-Americans. I’m not saying he wasn’t ‘the right man’.

It’s truly amazing to me how the behind the curtain puppet masters a.k.a American zionists can convince our brain dead politicians to send OUR sons and daughters to die in another non threatening Muslim country. All the while making America less safe and more susceptible to terror attacks, draining our already fragile economy, drag our international standing to a record low, empowering extreme elements in Islam, all for the sake of maintaining Israel’s QME (qualitative military edge)n the region.

Hopefully, if the idiots in congress try to sell this war to us the 99% will go to war against them

  11. HRK says:

Kristol is beyond belief. It’s a nightmare: heading to war for an expansionist foreign state.

  13. Abierno says:

With the Werrity/Fox scandal revealing that Mossad thought Werrity
was Fox’ chief of staff, meetings with multiple disaffected Iranian
expats seeking to unseat Ahminedajad and the mullahs – all of which
contravened British foreign policy and with British outrage at the
situation – is this the reason Kristol needs to charge Obama with
leading the invasion of Iran? It certainly won’t be Britain or any of the
    European countries.

  14. If there was justice in the world Slick Willy Kristol would have been frog-marched into the Potomac a long time ago or better yet, to have been dragged from city to city, town to town, and placed in the public stocks where those who have lost members of their family to the war in Iraq could have a go at him, face to face.

But Obama is not deserving of any sympathy, not just because it has been the Pentagon that has kept the US and Israel, to this point from going after Iran, but by pretending this cockamamie story is true, he is giving Israel no worse than an orange light to do the job.

  15. annie says:

kristol: Statesmanship involves turning lemons into lemonade.

reminds me just the other day i mentioning false flags and asked if maybe israel was involved or if it was just another case of israel making lemons out of lemonade. they certainly know how to use everything to their advantage don’t they. war war and more war.

  16. The Iranian ‘threat’ to the US? Zero, in fact less than zero. But Kristol and his fellow lunatics want more people to die, including Americans, civil war, chaos and a probable failed and dangerous state like Iraq to be created. All for Israeli deceit, paranoia and manipulation. What a jerk.

    • United Against Nuclear Iran ( UANI ) provides a Timeline of the terror acts of the “world’s mucho-est state sponsor of terror.” (tho I get so confused when US military appear before a congressional committee & declare that “Pakistan is gravest threat to US security” or “Taliban is gravest threat to US security.” In grammar 101 we were taught there can be only one -est.)

Anyway, the overwhelming majority of the items on UANI’s list of Iran’s terror acts, from 1979 to present, suggest but do not provide evidence to prove that Iran played not a direct role but a supporting role, –as financier or trainer or supplier of materiel, with, primarily, Hezbollah, carrying out the primary acts that UANI calls “terror.”

The embassy hostage situation did, of course, directly involve Americans and American (diplomatic) territory, and Iran and Iranians were directly involved. In NO OTHER CASE that UANI lists on its timeline were Americans harmed, nor American territory invaded, directly and provably, by Iranians. The facts and evidence simply do not support most of UANI’s charges.

As is true with much of what neocons publish, the relationship of “terror state Iran” to Hezbollah/doer of evil deeds is a mirror image, or projection, of the relationship between the US and Israel: US provides financial support, training, and materiel support to Israel, which Israel uses to carry out acts of terror against the Lebanese & Palestinian people.

A crucial difference is that in addition to its support for Israel’s terror acts, the US carries out terror acts of its own, while Iran seldom does.

UANI is a conglomerate of organizations, key among them the Iran Task Force. ITF is a project of the World Jewish Diplomatic Corps, of the World Jewish Congress, and is organized by and financially supported by the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs. That is, Iran Task Force is an unregistered foreign agency acting on behalf of Israel in the USA without respecting the laws of the USA.

    • And what about leading by example.???
How about we will dump from the plane, using parachute ,this guy Bill Kristol wearing a military uniform and an old, beat-up rifle in his pocket ,right in the middle of some camp of “scary and weary” Iranian’s militants/extremists ,( you know, the one’s ,who are always plotting evil and a very, very mean).
If he manages to get back to the US , on his own, in one piece, then , maybe…. one can listen to his blabbering .

Ratlines = escape routes for the right wing rulers of the third reich.

The rulers of Iraq and Afghanistan was Hitlers and escaped to Iran…?

The right wing mafia rats are still in power in the US, israel and Saudi Arabia (and all the US supported right wing countries around the world that has had US help to become “democracies”).

The ones that refuse to obey orders from Washington like Iran and Cuba will never be forgiven unless they install a new Shah or Batista.

Where will the rulers of the Right Wing Super Power and their friends run to if their countries become real democracies?

    China?

      • Keith says:

ANNIE- The ratlines are an important piece of history that has been largely suppressed. Many were run by the Catholic Church with the help of the US government. They provided a means for the US to recruit rabid anti-communist Nazis in the Holy War against communism. The most famous was Klaus Barbie, the Butcher of Lyon, who worked for the US in France after WWII until he became too hot and was spirited to South America where he continued to serve Uncle Sam, sometimes working with Israeli agents in his duties. Perhaps the most significant was General Reinhard Gehlen, who was head of intelligence on the Eastern front for Nazi Germany during the war, and who was recruited by US intelligence after the war to form the Gehlen Org, providing intelligence and other duties in Eastern Europe, which involved dealing with the fascist elements which had been set up by the Nazis. He later went on to become the first head of the German BND, which was their CIA equivalent. US collusion and collaboration with Nazis and other fascist before and after WWII is astonishing and sordid and not widely known although it should be.

Kristol is but one of perhaps 30 (maybe it’s 100) of American citizens and dual israeli-US citizens who are clearly in league as agents and operatives for a foreign nation – israel – who should be in chains, on buses, going to federal prison for treason … America is being attacked as never before, by another nation – israel – with a veritable army of supporters enmeshed at the highest levels of our power elite … these militant zionists care not if they utterly destroy America in service to their goal of a greater israel

  19. American says:

I think how we see the usual suspects enlarging and expanding this Iranian plot means it’s even bigger than just attacking Iran.
Iran, the Arab Spring, the Bahrain uprising, Egypt, Tunisia, Libya, Syria.
When you look at everything occuring in middle eastern states you can see that the entire ME is slipping out from under US control.

As keystone cops and transparently bizaare as this plot is, it is now being tied to everything from Iran creating the unrest in Bahrain, a threat to Saudi, to naming the same “alledged” Iranians behind attacks on the US in Iraq as being part of this same plot.
In short every but the kitchen sink is being thrown into this set up.
This may be it, not just attacking Iran…but using it additionally to embark on that final “clash of civilizations” and “ME world war” the Israelis set out to begin with.
If this is what it is say goodby to the US as we have known it and goodby to Israel altogether……there is probably a large part of the world that would think that’s not a bad trade off for a war.

  21. seafoid says:

The US can’t afford to go to war in Iran. Someone should send Kristol and the rest of the neocon clowns a biography of Aurangzeb, the last of the great moghuls.

This time it’s different. No it ****** isn’t.

  22. Has Kristol ever been right about anything?

    • LeaNder says:

Bill Kristol, doesn’t even know what being wrong means. He always was right, maybe Rumsfeld was wrong?

    • Kristol should also be given “credit” for elevating Sarah Palin from her obscurity as a do nothing Alaska governor to being chosen as the VP running mate for John McCain. After a Weekly Standard cruise ship pulled into the port of Juneau, Slick Willy began pumping her up in his columns in the Washington Post and given the power of the pro-Israel neocons within the Repub Party, the rest is history.

Is likely, however, that the addition of Palin to the ticket might have been a deliberate attempt to throw the race to Obama because only he could have gotten away with a Wall Street bailout without raising the ire of rank and file Democrats and the unions which are part and parcel of the Democratic Party and hence, with the rare exception that we witnessed in Wisconsin are AWOL from the political battle lines when a Democrat is in the White House.

Had McCain been elected he would have had problems not only with the Demos and the unions if he had taken the same route as Obama but he would have faced an eruption at the Republican base which has no affection for Wall Street. We also would have seen a revival of the anti-war movement which also disappeared with Obama’s victory and which has been virtually silent about his expansion of the war in Pakistan and increasing the number of troops in Afghanistan, not to mention his upping the US attacks in Yemen and Somalia.

Kristol may be evil in every meaning of the word but he is not stupid at least in the short run. He and others to came to know Palin must have realized she wasn’t playing with a full deck (nor for that matter is McCain) and so it is not unreasonable to conclude that the Republican leadership decided that Obama was the one they wanted in office to inherit Bush’s failed economy and to pursue US (and Israeli) military interests abroad.

It is noteworthy that Kristol is the son of Irving Kristol, who along with Norman Podhoretz, is considered a father of the neo-con movement, proving the old saying that applies do not fall far from the tree, particularly the rotten ones.

        The Case for Bombing Iran
Norman Podhoretz — Commentary June 2007

Not so George W. Bush, a man who knows evil when he sees it and who has demonstrated an unfailingly courageous willingness to endure vilification and contumely in setting his face against it. It now remains to be seen whether this President, battered more mercilessly and with less justification than any other in living memory, and weakened politically by the enemies of his policy in the Middle East in general and Iraq in particular, will find it possible to take the only action that can stop Iran from following through on its evil intentions both toward us and toward Israel. As an American and as a Jew, I pray with all my heart that he will.

Kristol and Podhoretz (both peres et fils) are evil incarnate.

        What to do with Iran?
We must coordinate independent strike with US, prepare for Iranian response
General Oded Tira (ret) December 31, 2006
        link to ynetnews.com

President Bush lacks the political power to attack Iran. As an American strike in Iran is essential for our existence, we must help him pave the way by lobbying the Democratic Party (which is conducting itself foolishly) and US newspaper editors. We need to do this in order to turn the Iranian issue to a bipartisan one and unrelated to the Iraq failure.

We must turn to Hillary Clinton and other potential presidential candidates in the Democratic Party so that they publicly support immediate action by Bush against Iran. We should also approach European countries so that they support American actions in Iran, so that Bush will not be isolated in the international arena again.

We must clandestinely cooperate with Saudi Arabia so that it also persuades the US to strike Iran. For our part, we must prepare an independent military strike by coordinating flights in Iraqi airspace with the US. We should also coordinate with Azerbaijan the use of airbases in its territory and also enlist the support of the Azeri minority in Iran. In addition, we must immediately start preparing for an Iranian response to an attack.

        The Americans must act.

If we bomb Iran, you can take the spread of US anti-semitism to the bank.

    — I’ve never seen any evidence that this was the case.

The mistakes of the 2008 McCain campaign fell well within the range of badly run presidential campaigns, without it having to have been intentionally thrown to the Democrats. Though Palin’s ineptness and narcism had been obvious to some of us who had closely observed her rise to local power, the details of the pre-Palin-VP-selection vetting have been pretty fully covered in Heilemann and Halperin’s Game Change, and in Geoffrey Dunn’s The Lies of Sarah Palin.

McCain wanted to win in 2008, was not catching up to Obama, and the Palin selections was a “Hail Mary” pass to the religious right.

    • MRW says:

Without reading the Halperin and Dunn cites, I do remember a reported account that McCain was presented with a ‘choice’ of Palin, which wasn’t a choice. She was selected by a group of backers. He was told this is your VP. Accept it.

Everything except explain the truth to the American people: Iran does not pose an existential threat to the US anymore than Iraq did. In the same speech he could explain that a wealthy, powerful constituency of zionists wants the US to wage war on Iran to make the world safe for zionists, at least in their own warped estimation. He has the authority of his office and the world’s biggest bully pulpit to deliver this message. It’s a message that would resonate with Americans, I think, and the voters, if not the financiers, would reward him for showing some courage and leadership for a change.

  27. Patrick says:

“His saber-rattling in response to the kooky car-salesman plot is Obama’s way of propitiating a powerful constituency inside the Democratic Party too”

Really? It seems to me that, intentionally or not, by playing up this kooky accusation to the hilt Obama is fanning the flames of war.

The whole episode really calls into question his judgement. Try to imagine what other governments around the world are thinking of Obama as he tries to use this to push for further sanctions on Iran. They’ll come to the conclusion that (a) really believes in the story and is unbalanced, or (b) he’s lying to them.

  28. I would not have expected that there would be a trail leading to what I have speculated. The religious right was going to vote against Obama in any case so that argument doesn’t quite refute it. Had McCain picked Romney or some other Republican with a hint of gravitas he may have won it, but the choice of Pailin still is mystifying. I have not read either book that you mention but I assume they offered other reasons as to why she was chosen.

  29. ToivoS says:

I do read but do often link to Justin Raimondo, but his latest on the Iran caper struck a nerve with me (too many disagreements with his big picture to really identify with him). What he warns in this piece is that the fact that Obama has made a big deal about this Iran plot craziness might very well be a signal that he is willing to rely on a major war to resurrect his faltering re-election campaign.

This game of always seeing the most improbable silver lining behind each of Obama’s capitulation is really tiring. Obama does not control anything. And maybe we’re all stuck with the rosy picture we have of him from the 2008 campaign but maybe his joke about “drones and his daughter” is closer to who he is in truth.

He will get along with bombing Iran whenever required as is shown by the Iranian assassination plot. I think Phil should give up on Obama. Everything crappy that he does is not good when one get the bigger picture. It’s just crappy stuff.
