Santorum says West Bank is Israel’s Texas, and all who live there are ‘Israelis’

Gosh I wish I understood who Santorum is pandering to, Christians? But in the pugnacious guessing game he plays above with a smart questioner, the former Senator says that “all the people who live in the West Bank are Israelis.” So is that an inadvertent recognition that it’s one political entity now, and Palestinians must have Israel voting rights? Eli Clifton reports on Iowa exchange above, at ThinkProgress:

In a recorded conversation during a Friday campaign stop in Iowa, former Republican senator Rick Santorum offered a surprisingly hawkish set of foreign policy views (even for Santorum) on both Iran and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. After telling a questioner that the U.S. should target Iranian nuclear scientists for assassination, the GOP presidential hopeful went on to say that “all the people who live in the West Bank are Israelis, they’re not Palestinians” and offered his endorsement of Israeli settlement construction in the West Bank. Santorum even went so far as to compare Israeli annexation of the West Bank to the acquisition of Texas during the Mexican-American war:

QUESTIONER: Do you think Israel should dismantle its settlements?

SANTORUM: No. The West Bank, is this part of Israel?

QUESTIONER: [inaudible] According to 48? [inaudible] […]

SANTORUM: Is Mexico part of the United States?

QUESTIONER: No.

SANTORUM: How did we get New Mexico and Texas?

QUESTIONER: Through war.

SANTORUM: How did they get the West Bank? [inaudible] Through a war. Should we give Texas back to Mexico?

QUESTIONER: Well I don’t think you should recognize recent annexations.

SANTORUM: Oh, so it depends whether it’s recent or not? So we should have given New Mexico and Texas back 150 years go? […] The bottom line is that that is legitimately Israeli country. And they have a right to do within their country just like we have a right to do within our country. If they want to negotiate with Israelis– and all the people who live in the West Bank are Israelis, they’re not Palestinians. There is no Palestinian, this is Israeli land.

“The bottom line is that that is legitimately Israeli country. ”

Great. Then hopefully this tool will advocate that everyone from the Med to the Jordan gets the vote, just like all those in Mexico who lived there before the Mexican-American war got the vote in the US. Something tells me that the Judeo-supremacists out there won’t be too happy with ol’ Rick.

Well, there you have it.

What a disgusting human being this guy is. But, he is a “useful idiot”; if everyone is “Israeli,” which puts them in the category of “people” according to Santorum, they should have all the rights of other real people, like Israeli’s and Americans.

He’s only saying what they all think and believe. The difference is that most of these psycophants know that they have to maintain the fiction that somehow there are two separate countries on top of each other. It is only a convenient lie to allow them to deny Palestinians any civil or democratic rights, while they keep inexorably reducing the means for any Palestinian to live a minimal existence. The West Bank was annexed long ago, the liars have built a wall of obfuscation and denial in order to maintain a regime worse than apartheid. It is the hypocrisy and lies which reveal the nature of the aggressive self-aggrandisment of zionism, as its meek little army of megaphone mouthpieces trot out the party line.

“SANTORUM: How did they get the West Bank? [inaudible] Through a war. Should we give Texas back to Mexico?”

G-d gave Israel the West Bank. This SANTORUM is a blasphemer.
G-d was behind the San Remo agreement as well.

“And they have a right to do within their country, just like we have a right to do within our country”
Why then Libya was attacked by combined US/Nato forces recently??
Why US treatens Iran with a war. Iran has also a right to do within its country whatever it wants?
Is Israel above all law??
