I very much like Ryan Gosling (as a person and as an actor), but the film Drive (2011) was really, really lame. That shiny jacket was totally nasty!
MUCH BETTER:
The Ides of March (2011) – http://movies.netflix.com/Movie/The_Ides_of_March/70202140?trkid=4791092
Blue Valentine (2010) – http://movies.netflix.com/Movie/Blue_Valentine/70122316?trkid=4791092
Half Nelson (2006) – http://movies.netflix.com/Movie/Half_Nelson/70043820?trkid=4791092

P.S. RYAN GOSLING AT IMDb – http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0331516/

I dunno, any member able to vote and 11% of the total membership choosing to vote is pretty democratic. OOC, if they had voted for a referendum, how would that have worked? Would they have sent ballots to everyone that would be largely ignored by the 89% who chose not to show up for this vote? Would they have to get an actual majority of the members voting for the boycott, or just a majority of the ballots sent in? Seems to me that the people who actually cared about the issue were the people who showed up.

AMY GOODMAN got what SHE WANTED.
and she doesn’t look like she feels bad about it.

no, not feeling bad, feeling good that in the face of an unprecedented smear/hate campaign by opponents of the measure, 40% of those voting supported holding a referendum. no, it wasn’t a majority, but pretty damn close. and while israel firsters will be cluck-cluck-clucking about their “victory”, one can be sure that behind closed doors, they’re plenty worried about this 40% yes vote – “hey, the numbers are going up, the numbers are going up, what can we do, what can we do, oh my, what can we do?”

According to assorted opponents, boycott of Israeli products for the duration of Apartheid practices and policies in that country is a very very extremist, sectarian, cultists, stupid etc. Beside all too predictable NYC politicians and a bevy of rabbis, the opponents were joined by Finkelstein, J Street and even Beinart who proposed “narrower targeting”.

And yet, 40% for. Granted, Fredblogs et al. have many reasons to feel satisfied, but Brand Israel seems to exhibit some tarnishing.
