Stunning photos of woman demonstrator slammed to sidewalk by water cannon, at Qalandiya checkpoint

Active Stills has posted an amazing series of photographs from the Women’s Day demonstration against the occupation at Qalandiya checkpoint Thursday:

And this text:

On March 8, 2012 Palestinian women organized a protest at the Qalandia checkpoint to make a collective call to end occupation. They sang, marched and chanted and their non-violent protest was met with tear gas, rubber bullets, skunk water and sound bombs by the Israeli Defense Forces.

From President Obama’s lecture to the Palestinians, June 2009, Cairo:

Palestinians must abandon violence. Resistance through violence and killing is wrong and it does not succeed. For centuries, black people in America suffered the lash of the whip as slaves and the humiliation of segregation. But it was not violence that won full and equal rights. It was a peaceful and determined insistence upon the ideals at the center of America’s founding. This same story can be told by people from South Africa to South Asia; from Eastern Europe to Indonesia. It’s a story with a simple truth: that violence is a dead end. It is a sign neither of courage nor power to shoot rockets at sleeping children, or to blow up old women on a bus. That’s not how moral authority is claimed; that’s how it is surrendered.

Thanks Phil and Adam. How hollow and condescending Obama’s words increasingly seem as the thousands of Palestinian “Ghandis” operate in plain view despite the water cannons and rubber-coated steel bullets.

Prayer for Obama: if God grants you a second term, promptly go to Palestine, see for yourself as the US Congresswomen recently did. Invite Susan Abulhawa, Jeremy Ben-Ami, Rebecca Vilkomerson, or Ali Abunimah to accompany you and definitely bring along your press retinue. Just go and let us Americans see the situation through your eyes.

What BiM said, and btw, where’s that intermix cement truck going? heh.

One picture, two crimes.

Just leave it up to the army to use phallus shaped equipment to keep women on their knees [no pun intended]. When will the world wake up? It already did, you say? Right. So, when will we vote those idiots out of office and replace them with responsible individuals instead?

This is not fair to the Israelis. First they shot the demonstrators with the skunk smell weapon. But then, as we can see clearly in these photos, they were willing to give them fire hose showers to wash off the stink. This is abominable antisemitic propaganda to obscure the Israeli attempts to provide those Palestinian women with cleansings hose washings.

Shame on MW for this evil anti_Zionist propaganda.

Israel asks why there is no peace. Because the system in Israel is designed for permanent war.
