Endorsing Romney, Chi Jewish paper praises him for saying Jewish culture is superior to Palestinians

The Chicago Jewish Star, a twice-monthly Jewish paper, has endorsed Romney as “the better bet for our country.” The phrasing indicates some defensiveness about the dual loyalty charge. The Star is emphasizing that Romney is better for America. And yes, the Star talks about jobs. But the Star does talk about another country several times. It begins with the Iran threat and later endorses Romney for his racist statements in Jerusalem in August, when he said that economic disparity between Israel and Palestine can be explained by Jews’ superior “culture.” Also, the editorial accuses Obama of “divisiveness.” Divisive toward Netanyahu?

We like Mr. Romney because he is able to travel to a hot-bed area like Israel and- openly, unapologetically, and accurately- commend the Jewish state for its achievements, while frankly acknowledging that it is Palestinian recalcitrance which has denied peace to the area.

…Mr. Obama’s unsatisfactory direction for America was rooted in untenable assumptions, fueled by arrogance, and promoted by divisiveness. We don’t need more of that.

It is not only that Mr. Obama thus deserves to be a one-term proposition; it is that Mr. Romney is simply the better bet for our country.

“Mr. Romney is simply the better bet for our country.”
Hmmm. Which country is that again?
As for “untenable assumptions, fueled by arrogance, and promoted by divisiveness”, well surely that’s a description of Israel!
Israel’s former ambassador to the UN has been grumbling about their current incumbent to Haaretz (but I found elsewhere):

So the Chicago Jewish Star would accept the Nazis sticking it to the Jews could be explained by the Nazis’ “superior culture”. Zionist de-legitimizing Israel yet again.

  3. This is sad to watch these nocturnal animals feeding even during the daylight on the decomposing body of the American values , as the barriers to their forays into the civic society get lowered, easier, and permissible.

    • piotr says:

There was a promise “there shall be no daylight” from both Obama and Romney, so are nocturnals can be confused. The laws of physics and astronomy can be suitably altered by lobbying in DC, can’t they?

      • Yes.That is what is going on but it is so sad. America has come a long way form this kind of public manifestation of racism of 30s and earlier . But I guess this a wonderful gloss and nothing more than the veneer that hides the history of labeling the enemy as beast before killing them with no guilt.
Scratch it a bit and it shows up as an wound still raw red and angry.
Mulsim have done nothing to Romney , neither has any Palestinian but in a world when everybody’s worth is defined by market returns ,Romney is playing along just fine. But why just blame this outlet when WSJ can add its moral and intellectual shield to the exhortation of Geller to choose the civilized against the savages with no legal ,moral,or intellectual pushback from any mainstream media?
This is where the dark sinister manipulation of free speech are allowed to generate widespread benefits in the social, political, and cultural realms for a few well connected powerful racist goons feeding and nurturing each other.
” At the English-language Jerusalem Post, Israel Kasnett published a hyperventilating piece titled “Support the civilized man,” in which he declared that Geller “has it right” and urged the West to “stop apologizing to the Muslim world, get behind Israel and defeat Jihad.” More recently, William McGurn published a piece in The Wall Street Journal in which he opined, “Whatever the agenda of those behind this ad might be, the question remains: What part of that statement is not true?” link to thenation.com
It was not that long ago, Arabs were depicted by early zionist as nothing but corrupt, idle, ignorant people who exploit women , children and hate science and The West. It has reached the mainstream and by reaching there it has in fact weakened America.

I totally agree with Romney if he believes, as the Chicago Jewish Star’s states, that there is significant enervating potential in the private sector.

“With his [Romney's] executive experience, belief in the enervating potential of the private sector, …”

Whether Romney believes in it is a question, it’s pretty clear that he’s acted to enervate.

“…belief in the enervating potential of the private sector, …”

Funny. lyn. They definitely needed a proofreader for that faux pas. I fully expect RoHa to dash off a missive to the Chicago Jewish Star explaining in detail the stark difference between “enervating” and “energizing” (which I assume was the word that the CJS writer meant to use) . Or perhaps it was a cleverly disguised slap at Romney? … Probably not.

Ha! “Defensiveness” is right. Although the context would suggest “our country” refers to America, there’s clearly some strategic ambiguity — otherwise they would just say “better bet for America.” Which country are they referring to again?

  6. American says:

The Jewish Star thinks Obama is arrogant?
And their superior culture as responsible for their achievements isn’t?…….HAHAHAH
Well, it would be funny if it weren’t such a sad and dangerous delusion.
