Stop Veolia Zine Project

“Solidarity is not an act of charity but an act of unity between allies fighting on different terrains towards the same objectives.”   –Samora Machel

Stop Veolia Seattle is producing a zine!  We are looking for writings and images, research and conversations about Veolia.  Send us short research articles, stories, interviews, illustrations, comics, photographs, drawings, anything that you think helps to tell the story of Veolia and resistances to its corporatization of public services.

At the heart of the project is the defining and redefining of solidarity. We understand Veolia as a microcosm for tracing the intersections of our struggles locally and globally, for the potential and the need for solidarity and for what that community of joint-struggle might look like. Veolia also provides a case study for mapping other genealogies and continuities.  Veolia, a company that can be traced back to Napoleon, helps us to trace the roots of today’s neoliberalism in earlier manifestations of Western imperialism and exploitation.

We are hoping to create both a kind of archive of these grapplings as well as a kind of “biography” of Veolia and its crimes globally.

If you are interested in submitting work, give us a shout:
