Scarlett Johansson is featured at AIPAC, to applause

“Say, do you know that SodaStream is hiring?”

Johansson as an ambassador for Oxfam

Actress Scarlett Johansson is the new heroine of Israel supporters. Ever since she appeared in a Super Bowl ad for a seltzer-maker that operates in the occupied Palestinian territories and quit the human-rights organization Oxfam to do so, she’s been embraced by rightwing supporters of Israel.

This morning at its policy conference, the Israel lobby group the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) used images of Johansson to show off Israeli technology, and the crowd responded with applause.

On the main stage of the conference, an executive for the Israeli brain imaging company ElMindA draped the head of a subject– AIPAC’s campus outreach leader Winton Steward – with a high-tech carapace that looked like a hair net studded with white marbles and then flashed an image of Scarlett Johansson to register Steward’s recognition of the celebrity. There was a brief reference to the Super Bowl ad, and then the ElMindA exec flashed a series of countless images of different human faces before Steward and the audience.

Watch for Scarlett Johansson.

How many of you have seen Scarlett only once, raise your hand?

Three times?

Ten times her image appeared, he explained.

The company was one of three or four spotlighted in the high-tech segment. Another imaging company, Camero, displayed radar technology it has developed with the Israeli military to visualize human beings through walls so as to get to “bad guys.” A Georgia law enforcement official appeared on stage to promote the device. Another company gives some blind people the ability to see.

Israel is involved in an “intractable conflict,” the panel’s moderator said, and the high-tech story is not getting out to the world. “There’s an Israel beyond the conflict. Israel has helped to heal and help the rest of the world.”

And Scarlett Johansson is helping.

Did Scarlett strip down to her undies and lick a map of Israel at AIPAC ? Or am I confusing her with Miley? I often get my slappers mixed up .

    • hophmi says:

      Misogenistic much, Seafoid?

      • Cliff says:

He’s referring to a sexualized picture of ScarJo w/ Yahoo and Abbas.

Well, all these pics of her are sexualized because that is her appeal.

      • hophmi aka mini-dershowtiz lawyer

        Racist much “hophmi”?

      • seafoid says:

I never served in the IDF hoph so I’m not as feminist as you. Scarlett reminds me of Ms Cupid Stunt when she does that eyebrow thing.

“Misogynistic” means woman-hating. I wonder what “misogenistic” means. Tribe-hater?

        • seafoid says:

          Misogenistic is a japanese soup

          • hophmi says:

I guess that means it’s ok in the BDS movement to make derogatory remarks about women as long as you don’t agree with their politics.

No, it’s just laughable that an anti-Arab bigot and judeo-supremacist like you to call out anyone for some politically incorrect comment. There’s a beam in your eye, hoppy; don’t worry about the mote in Seafoid’s.

          • just says:

            LOL, seafoid!

I just knew she’d be featured at AIPAC. Guess she couldn’t make their blood red carpet cause she was preoccupied at the other red carpet last nite……….. there’s still time, I guess.

      • Woody Tanaka says:

        “Misogenistic much, Seafoid?”

Yeah, next thing you know, Seafoid will be advocating segregating women in things like places of worship. How horrid.

        • adele says:

          Hophmi,
on behalf of the worldwide sister movement, we don’t need the advocacy of tribalist bigots w/ vocabulary issues. We can take care of ourselves, thank you very much.

          Misogenistically yours,
          the sisterhood

I bet Scarlett has her own mikvah to get rid of all those menstrual impurities.

      • Giles says:

hophmi. Are you actually illiterate? Misogenistic? Maybe a typo —although the e is not right next door to the y on the standard keyboard.

I am wondering, is it misogynistic of all the Israeli supporters who gloat over the bulldozing of Rachel Corrie?

      • Hostage says:

        Misogenistic much, Seafoid?

Do self-awareness much? Many people are simply appalled by the crude level of discourse concerning the subject of women that they encounter throughout the Talmud. One Tanna summed-up the attitude toward sexy women like Scarlett by observing that they are like bags of excrement with a hole that bleeds, yet all speed after them e.g. See “Orthodox Judaism treats women like filthy little things”. link to haaretz.com

Miley is a good American, seafood. She’s not a traitor to American ideals. You really need to catch her latest song about this.

Hey, maybe the Zionist are evolving; maybe they one day may see the natives as human beings, not just inventions peculiar to the land over there?

  5. kalithea says:

I fell like the closing sentence is incomplete: helping…to promote that massive DECEPTION.

    A high-tech carapace :-)

    The hasbara-exoskeleton is very thin.

    White marbles and Scarlett Johansson!

Is this the best they can come up with?

  8. Poor old Scarlett, now the poster girl for the Israeli Taliban. The message is of course about israel’s technological bias towards the means of occupation and control. Occupation technology is their speciality, and gift to the world. Facial imaging is for the purpose of surveillance and NSA-style data collection, building vast databases of people who may be (gasp!) connected or sympathetic to those troublesome natives that israel is so keen to get rid of. Cloaking it in some kind of benevolent light is the usual spin and nonsense, diverting attention for their daily human rights demolition derby on to some sort of fantasy soap opera. I wonder how often this technology is used in their extra-terriorial assassinations.

  9. Good grief! The girl went from neutral to owned. Good luck extricating yourself from that one Johansson.

      Shuki,
that is one tent that we don’t aspire to have membership to. No thank you.

    • Walid says:

Also outside on the curb at the convention are a couple of Americans horrifying incoming AIPAC invitees with their home-made Hizbullah flags. In their own words, “it’s the only language Israel understands”, or something along those lines:

  11. Chu says:

Does anyone know if she gave the Israel Project the right to photoshop a tattoo of Israel/Palestine on her back in the ad on NYTimes? I would assume she didn’t and the Israel Project went ahead and did it without consent and approval.

Bibi at AIPAC disses BDS (Bigotry, Dishonesty, Shame) and declares his love for Scarjo, addressing her a la Gone With The Wind, his twist: “Frankly, My Dear (Scarlett), I DO give a damn!” link to c-span.org

“Frankly, my dear, I don’t give a damn” is a famous line from the 1939 film Gone with the Wind starring Clark Gable and Vivien Leigh.
It was spoken by Gable, as Rhett Butler, as his last words to Leigh as Scarlett O’Hara, in response to Scarlett’s tearful question “Where shall I go? What shall I do?” as he leaves her.

Interesting, seems Bibi like Scarjo, don’t give a damn about the Palestinian people (or the US, it’s enabler against US best interests); they both Do give a damn about Zionism. Of course, Leigh played the part of a narcissistic southern belle who just wanted her South to last forever, no matter the slaves. I don’t think Bibi thought his cute statement out very well, do you?
