If onrushing speedboats send a message to an American warship, "you will explode in a few minutes," isn’t the correct military response to blow the suckers out of the water on the spot? Don’t the rules of engagement justify and even require that sort of action? Why did the commander wait things out? Sure makes us look prudent… But it makes me disbelieve the American report. Feels Tonkin-Gulf-ish….
