‘Exodus’ drew the world’s sympathy. Will Gaza boat?

A friend writes:
The incident you reported, of the Israelis attacking and boarding the Spirit of Humanity en route to Gaza, carries a strangely powerful resonance against the incident of the ship Exodus 1947–the British refusal of refugees on that boat after the war, which drew the world's sympathy and inspired a stronger resistance against British rule in Palestine. It was the germ of the novel and movie of that title.
