Latest about the Gaza Freedom March at the end of the year from an organizer:
About 230 people have signed up for the March so far. In addition, the French organizer believes there will 200 people coming from France. We don’t have specific numbers yet from other countries, but we do know people are coming from as far away as Japan.
On October 27, there will be a rally/fundraiser for the march at the Church of the Holy Trinity, 316 E. 88th. I wish I knew how to upload the flyer. 7 o’clock, and Jeff Halper, of the Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions, will be there. Many groups are sponsoring this event. JVP, Jews Say No, Codzi (Committee for an Open Discussion of Zionism), Code Pink, Adalah, Wespac. Says my friend the organizer:
Halper is a passionate and articulate dissector of US/Israel relations. This is Jeff’s only public appearance in NYC. Joseph Massad, who won a bitter fight for tenure at Columbia, will talk about the efforts of the West to separate Gaza from the West Bank. Ann Wright, a retired diplomat and US Army colonel, and member of CODEPINK, will talk about the Gaza Freedom March and what she has witnessed of Israeli war crimes in her three trips to Gaza this year. Remi Kanazi, a Palestinian American poet will inspire us all with his performance of his poetry.
