Now again, the Process.

It’s hard not to be nauseated – in the most visceral sense – by its every representation and permutation. Its endless recapitulation by people who don’t know better or by cowardly or two-dimensional people who do. A rank and stiff load on a public dais. Infused periodically with amphetamines. That’s what’s on offer.

The set: Tony Blair is somehow relevant. Martin Indyk with his irritating grin and Dennis Ross, a success or a failure depending on where you stand, trading stories. Tzipi Livni, who’s managed to stay one step ahead of the law but cannot outrun her legacy. Saeb Erakat and Mahmoud Abbas, two inflatable characters whose unbearable lightness cannot mask the yawning hole in the wall. And Grand Marshall Kerry… the object of all vicarious embarrassment in the world.

It’s a circus act in sagging tent. Shabby clowns deliver earnest lines in an empty space.

NEWS FLASH: A heretofore unknown work of Franz Kafka’s has just been discovered in a Prague attic. Readers have long known of “The Castle”. They are even more familiar with “The Trial”. Now we finally have the third part of the trilogy, “The Process”!

That’s funny, did you know that the original title in German was “Der Process”?

The original title of “The Trial”, that is.

MY REPLY: Thanks, I was not aware of that, but it certainly doesn’t surprise me. When someone is “served” with a lawsuit, it called “service of process, and it is often done by a process server”.

I got totally confused — the original title of Der Process is The Trial?

Actually, in my country they teach that in high schools.

Yes, another peace process party. A cluster of balloons, grease stained paper plates, some baloney and grapes, warm diet pesi… everyone acting like they’re having fun. Vicarious embarrassment indeed. If there weren’t lives at stake this nauseating crowd of pretenders would induce a feeling of pity.

“…Dennis Ross, a success or a failure depending on where you stand…”

Exactly. He is either the biggest failure or greatest success American politics has ever known.

    Well, no.

It’s a command performance, given in AIPAC’s tent and at its request. What’s important is that Kerry and various others SHOW UP. It is understood that nothing of substance must eventuate from it. It is successful when it is a sort of sham.

But what sort of sham? A sham as a peace process, surely, but VERY IMPORTANT as a proof of subservience to AIPAC.

“Be there or be square, Kerry” were the last words Kerry heard from the DNC and its finance committee, Debbie what’s-her-name, etc. So, whattdya think? He’s there.

There he is. And the space is not empty. It is filled with the audience of AIPAC officials.

Who pays the piper calls the tune.

Shouldn’t the US flag be in the middle, and a bit higher than the other two flags?

This meeting is hosted by Kerry in Washington. So no: Kerry is an Israeli Flag Firster.

Note that the flag foldings are not symmetrical. There is no light between the flags of US and Israel. And the Palestine flag already has been cut smaller.

today i read about a small ray of sunshine in the israel times online

    http://www.timesofisrael.com/us-offered-palestinians-a-lease-deal-for-isolated-settlements/

this is an important offer and i hope the palestinian people will give it some consideration.a lease of settlements is not only a commercial enterprise but also has a connection in the bible.maybe a cap on numbers,a census to be entered into the book of numbers

    Birthright[edit]
In Genesis, Esau returned to his twin brother Jacob, famished from the fields. He begs Jacob to give him some “red pottage” (a play on his nickname, Hebrew: אדום‎`Edom, meaning “red”.) Jacob offers Esau a bowl of stew in exchange for Esau’s birthright (the right to be recognized as firstborn with authority over the family), and Esau agrees. Thus Jacob bought/exchanged Esau’s birthright. This is believed to be the origin of the English phrase “for a mess of pottage”.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Esau

as you can see it has it ups and downs but that is negioation.as long as it ends fairly

the british leased hong kong from the chinese so this is not a new concept

more important it will create a bond on a spiritual level, and a healing that both relegions are in need of.
this is very important as humanity faces unprecedented challenges in the next 20 years.if judaism and islam can make peace it can also help heal the divide between sunni and shia and the belief in one G-d instead of two.

let us all pray for a sign ,a guiding light in this decision.

Can’t help thinking the deal is already made by this team of illustrious Palestinian negotiators and tent meetings, posturing and bogus resignations by the Palestinian negotiators are stalling tactics until the opportune time to break the disastrous news to the Palestinians.
