The Rights Forum, an organization “committed to a fair and sustainable Dutch and European policy on the Palestine/Israel issue,” announced earlier this week that it was delivering its appeal with the support of 185 organizations from 25 countries. “Without further delay, investigate possible war crimes committed in Israeli-occupied Palestinian territory,” the group said in their appeal, which they delivered to Chief ICC prosecutor Fatou Bensouda at The Hague on Tuesday.

Omar Barghouti, co-founder of the BDS movement for Palestinian rights, writes “I rely on Mondoweiss and similar movement media to enlighten me about the extremely important U.S. context of our struggle and beyond. I have donated personally to Mondoweiss for many years, and I’m asking you now to do the same. At a time when the U.S. is joining Israel to clamp down on the rights of those who speak out for Palestine, Mondoweiss is a rare source of free speech and insightful analysis–a sign of hope for those seeking to create real change. Knowledge is power, and without power we cannot defeat oppression. I urge you to support Mondoweiss as an indispensable source of knowledge for our struggle.

The Jewish “nationhood” proposition being promoted by the Trump regime — in which American Jews are expected to love Israel — is the ultimate endorsement, and thereby the anti-Good Housekeeping seal, to Jewish nationalism. And all this was predicted when Zionism arose in the west.

Freedom Is the Future is a joint project recently launched by US Campaign for Palestinian Rights and Adalah Justice Project to establish Palestine’s place in the broader progressive movement by promoting a rights-based framework. “This came about in part because there was a recognition that there was an absence of a framework and reference points within progressive organizing here in the United States that was Palestinian-authored and Palestinian-centered,” Yousef Munayyer explains.

President Trump is on the verge of signing an executive order aimed at cracking down on the campus Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement. The order recognizes Judaism as a nationality and uses a civil rights loophole that will allow the government to withhold funding from schools that failed to effectively crack down on discrimination, which in this case might mean criticism of Israel. “This is a baldfaced attempt to silence the movement for Palestinian rights on college campuses – something that has been at the top of the Trump administration’s agenda,” said Palestine Legal director Dima Khalidi says.

Republicans are trying to paint Democrats as the anti-Israel party. Not to worry. Rep. Jan Schakowsky sounded a lot like an old segregationist when she said that equal rights for Palestinians is a bad thing. In one state, “equal rights and equal votes for all” would mean that “in short order the Jewish population would be in the minority, and Israel as a Jewish state would cease to exist.”

Mondoweiss brings you stories of people creating real change toward justice for Palestine. Like you, we know that amplifying their voices increases their impact. Before the year ends, we need to raise $200,000 to continue this work–and we can do it if you give today. If you and others provide $100,000, that will unlock a challenge fund of $100,000 more. Please join hundreds of others to make possible ongoing coverage of ChangeMakers for Palestine.
