I’m sure you saw what happened after Rashida Tlaib said Israel practices apartheid and Katie Halper documented Tlaib’s allegation in a video monologue – Halper lost her job at the Hill TV, which refused to air her video.
It’s a familiar pattern. I also got fired by two mainstream media outfits after I dared to speak up for Palestinian rights.
But things are changing. Halper got her video out there, and it has racked up 100,000 views on YouTube. And despite my setbacks–which feel like ancient history to me — Mondoweiss has moved from strength to strength, and this year, we established a Palestine Newsroom that is producing vivid content that demonstrates the truth of what Tlaib said.
As our influence grows so does the pushback. To continue moving the needle, we need to raise $50,000 by Sunday, October 16th. Will you become a monthly donor? Your donation will be doubled by a generous match!
Yes, I want to become a Mondoweiss monthly supporter.
I can make a tax-deductible gift to fight the censorship of Palestine advocates.
Slowly but surely, our view is taking over the progressive discourse in the U.S. – you can’t be a progressive and support Israeli apartheid.
These tectonic changes don’t happen overnight. They require years of producing thorough reporting, amplifying campaigns and advocates, producing thought-provoking videos, and interviewing relevant actors.
I feel optimistic about our work at Mondoweiss. I know we are making a difference because we are terrifying Israel’s supporters in the U.S. Their attacks are getting more vicious. Their efforts to silence journalists did not work then, and it has dramatically failed now.

Mondoweiss is a space for true transformation within Palestine discourse in the United States as courageous voices like Tlaib and Halper know we have their backs. Our work has helped create a national platform to shift the discourse and amplify the voices of those pushing back.
A perfect example is that when Katie was censored, we were one of the first outlets to document it.
We are driving the change. Can you help us publish pieces from those censored in mainstream media and produce podcast episodes where they can express themselves without censorship? Make a commitment today and have your contribution matched!

Slowly but surely, we are making inroads in progressive spaces. Mondoweiss has been working for years, reporting on the censorship of dissenting voices, such as Rashida and Katie, but also Professor Rabab Abdulhadi and Marc Lamont Hill before them, and amplifying the voices of those speaking truth to power.
We have revolutionized our own coverage of the issue by building a Palestine Newsroom, and we are helping to revolutionize the American understanding of the occupation. This is a nonviolent process; when I was young, we said we were raising consciousness.
Today we are winning that battle of consciousness. More and more Americans are awakening to the true character of this long struggle.
Thank you for being part of the struggle!
