We, the undersigned Jewish organizations, collectives, and community members
around the world, write today out of profound moral urgency.
The Israeli state is accelerating the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians through mass
displacement, settler violence, and the destruction of Palestinian communities. In
Gaza, Israel is carrying out a genocide that has killed tens of thousands of people,
devastated civilian infrastructure, displaced the vast majority of the population, and
subjected Palestinians to starvation and collective punishment.
These crimes demand concrete action from us, in whose name they are being committed.
In the United States, Jewish Voice for Peace has expressed principled support for
Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS), demonstrating that Jewish ethical principles
can and must be mobilized in opposition to oppression.
The scale of devastation has reached a point where silence is no longer defensible.
We therefore call upon Jewish organizations around the world to publicly endorse the BDS movement and to support coordinated nonviolent pressure to end Israeli impunity. We also urge governments and international institutions to respond to growing calls from civil society, human rights organizations, and citizens for concrete measures of accountability, including the suspension of the EU–Israel Association Agreement.
We affirm support for:
- Boycott, divestment, and sanctions as legitimate, nonviolent tools for advancing
Palestinian freedom, equality, and human rights; - Economic, cultural, academic, and institutional pressure on Israel until it ends its
violations of Palestinian rights and complies with international law; - The right of individuals, organizations, and institutions to advocate for and participate
in BDS without censorship, retaliation, or legal penalty; - Building broad Jewish support for BDS globally as an expression of solidarity with
Palestinians and opposition to Israeli oppression.
This is not a moment for maintaining old divisions and political boundaries while an
entire society is being destroyed. We may not agree on every political framework, but we
believe the time has come to place our collective moral weight behind meaningful
action, publicly support BDS, and demand accountability.

It’s time to understand that in Gaza, “In the decades to come, an epidemic of cancer, lung disease, and brain damage caused by this [environmental] fallout could come to rival in lethality the war’s bombs and bullets“. Over the past year Yaakov Garb, a professor of environmental studies at Ben-Gurion University, has been mapping major sources of contamination in Gaza… Garb’s analysis is starting to provide the most detailed modeling yet of [ the wars ] likely toxicological consequences….In other areas Garb has identified the blown-up remains of warehouses that once contained thousands of tons of dead lead-acid batteries, which Israeli restrictions long prevented Palestinians from exporting for safe disposal or recycling. Elsewhere he has detected black streaks on the ground, some more than half a mile long, indicating likely carcinogenic hydrocarbon contamination from industrial sites. The fallout could be similar to that produced by the September 11 attack on the World Trade Center, which caused elevated rates of nearly thirty diseases, including more than a dozen types of cancer, and killed more people than the attack itself....

What I saw in the West Bank...I have just returned from my first visit to the West Bank since 2023. What I saw then was deeply disturbing, but today the situation is far worse. It is now an emboldened and aggressive process of Israeli annexation of Palestinian land unfolding in plain sight....I arrived at a clear conclusion: the government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu aims to make Palestine disappear physically, economically, culturally and politically….Travelling in the West Bank, I got a visceral sense of a land and people under ever-more repressive occupation. We visited the Palestinian village of Deir Nidham, whose inhabitants are subject to continuous harassment by violent settlers, with the support of the Israeli army. Settler attacks in the West Bank average six per day since the start of the year, according to the UN….While in Israel, Helen Clark and I met with President Herzog. I have valued our relationship over the years, and it was a robust exchange. He made it clear to us that, in his view, the international community doesn’t fully understand the agony Israel experienced on 7 October 2023 [ editorial comment: !!!! ]

Talk and and no action. Jews around the world must have the same responsibility towards the workd in fighting Zionism as Palestinians do. My apologies in advance to those who might see this a negative response.
Who cares what these people think? And why? Are they actually special for any reason?
If they care they should be directing these statements inward toward the dominant members of their own community. Otherwise it is narcissistic and co-optative because it implies that being Jewish gives someone moral authority (it does not).
