In response to the Bondi Beach attack, there is a push in Australia to adopt definitions of racism, including antisemitism. We must reject this effort because its ultimate goal is to criminalize anti-Zionism and to further settler colonialism.

Despite the mutual admiration between Zionists and fascists, they are usually seen as separate political movements. However, when viewed through the lens of Western racism, colonialism, and imperialism, the connections become clear.

Claims that “antisemitism” is being weaponized to support Israel miss that its function has always been to bolster European supremacy. Today, the chimera of “Jewish safety” is used to justify Western dominance through Israel’s genocide in Palestine.
