The U.S. Supreme Court will not consider a challenge to an Arkansas law that targets the BDS movement.

The ACLU is petitioning the U.S. Supreme Court over an Arkansas law that prohibits companies from boycotting Israel. “As Americans it is our right to boycott or not boycott anyone we please and it is none of the government’s business,” Arkansas Times Publisher Alan Leveritt tells Mondoweiss.

In a decision which could have far-reaching implications for political actions and free speech, the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that the state of Arkansas was permitted to force anyone contracting with the state to pledge that they will not engage in boycotts of Israel.
