A couple days ago I did my most successful item, counting by serious comments: about the vanishing progressive Jewish presence in public life, from my viewpoint as an assimilating Jew. Later that day I opened my email to discover a message from a “John Podhoretz.” It was titled “Look Out!”
I don’t know John Podhoretz. I opened the note, and it said, “We know where you live!” That was all.
I was disturbed by the note and I emailed the guy back: “Huh? Who are you? What does this mean?”
He wrote back, “AN EVIL NEOCON JEWBOY! Let’s see if you can figure it out….”
I felt pretty sure it was John Podhoretz, the New York Post columnist and a regular contributor to the National Review Online. NRO has a conservative community blog called “The Corner.” John Podhoretz is often on there, and when you click on his name, you get the same email address from which the notes came to me: jpod@sprynet.com. And looking around, I saw that Podhoretz refers to himself as Jpod.
I called a few of my rabbis. One of them knows Podhoretz and said he felt sure that it was he who had emailed me. The guy has a pattern of sending weirdly antagonistic emails to people he disagrees with, sometimes accusing them of antisemitism. Another described Podhoretz’s emails as “acrimonious.” Later I saw that paleo-conservative Steve Sailer talks about Podhoretz’s emails on his blog, saying that they show him to be a “moron.”
I wanted to be sure the emails had come from Podhoretz. First thing this morning I emailed him at his Post address, jpodhoretz@gmail.com, to ask about the emails from the other address. It’s 1. I haven’t heard from him. I’m pissed off. I’d ask my readers what I asked “John Podhoretz.” Who is he and what does this mean?

You have made decision to be an "assimilated" Jew. This means you are dissociating yourself from Judaism. Why not write about something else- the joys of being religion-free or a culture-free American, or how to decorate a Christmas Tree.
Are you trying to fix something about Judiasm? Do you think that it is broken?
Why are you so obsessed with the culture/religion that you are dissociating yourself from?
Where do you come up with this standard that Jews should be left, right, Socialist, Communist, Republican or whatever?
Jews obey the Talmud. Why not hold the Jews that you keep writing about to this standard- the only one that they are beholden to.

My report was picked up by several blogs, including Israpundit and Littlegreenfootballs.
Mr. Finkelstein received my report and was very upset with my stating that he made $5,000.00 for his speeches. He accused me of being a spy. He was very upset that I made it appear that he was making money from the Holocaust Industry. This figure which I gotten from a student, after repeated attempts to get his fee from the MSU, was wrong. Finkelstein called me two days ago to clarify this, he threatened to sue me for libel (though no malicious intent was meant) I actually thought he could command such a sum! He subsequently demanded an apology. After waiting for my attorney to advise me how to proceed, the next day I sent out an apology for misquoting the amount Mr. Finkelstein receives for his tired speeches. Before I was able to issue the apology, I received the following message on my cell phone from Finkelstein.
These are his words
.."Hi, this is Norman Finkelstein, I did not see an apology from you so I assume you are not sending it. So, I will put all your contact information , phone number, email, address for viewers to my website to contact you on why you "slandered" me.
Goodbye."
I then responded to him via E-mail yesterday:
"Because of being threatened with harassment by your saying you would be putting my personal info on your website so members who adore you could harass me was not a gentlemanly thing to do. But then……………..leaving the message on my cell phone so I could save it, really Norman!"
Here is Norman Finkelstein's response to my E-mail.
"Actually I'd be happy to repeat the message a thousand times on your cellphone. Really, call anytime. I don't like spies or slanderers, and believe, Old Testament-style, that they should repaid in kind. In fact I was going to post your name and number at the top of my web site so you could get 650 calls per days (the number of people who visit my web site each day). It would perhaps teach you to consider another profession: maybe cleaning toilets, which is pretty close to what you do now." I then informed him that I do not clean toilets.
Just received this E-mail from Mr. Finkelstein: 6/2/2006 11:18:53 AM Eastern Daylight Time:
"Why is it I'm not surprised that you don't clean up after you shit?
Theaters show the same film many times for new audiences. If someone keeps coming to watch the film over and over again, the problem would seem to be with the viewer not the movie. Such recidivists can usually be found in adult movie houses and usually have more interest in the audience than the film. On all counts you strikingly resemble such perverts."
I have decided not to have any further communication with Mr. Finkelstein but feel that it is he who owes me an apology for his obscene comments, threats and harassment.
Good Lord, Weiss. Have you lost your sense of humor along with your elementary sense of reason? I was making fun of you.
Many people underestimate John Podhoretz. You might not realize that beneath the oafish exterior, he has contributed to both the English language and statistical genetics.
- His co-workers at the Washington Times coined the term "podenfreude" to describe taking pleasure in the awfulness of somebody's writing.
- As the scion of a distinguished intellectual family, JPod is the first known exemplar of "regression beyond the mean."
Don't you realize Pod the Neocon is fighting you. I have it on good authority that Saddam's mailbox is full of such neocon threats.
Fortunately for you, the Army, Air Force, Marines and Navy are unable to assist in any neocon hostilities at this moment. Although, some neocons have advocated using foreign mercenaries to fight their battles; I would not worrry.

Actually, Billy Mummy may be the wrong guy for the JPod role. Lumpy from "Leave it to Beaver" seems to capture the JPod's essence.
Admittedly, Lumpy had a layer of goodness that so far is way beyond JPOD. The complete ineffectiveness is a match for Podhertz with a lameness that almost sings. And Lumpy's family's inability to accept his uselessness certainly must match up with Jpod.
You know, the sad reality is that it is Pod that is being assimilated.

NeoConservatism is a set of political beliefs that seeks to, in the words of Steve Sailer, "invite the world, invade the world, in hoc to the world". This represents rampant uncontrolled immigration that the public didn't get to vote on and didn't want, invasions of every percieved threat to Israel (more on that in a sec), in hoc to the world (easy credit from the FED, record personal and national debt to prop up the economy. We owe our butts to Chinese T-bill holders).
Israel is the neo-cons preoccupation. Most neo-cons are Jewish by religion or ethnicity. I empathize with them. I was raisesd a Babtist and still believe God's statement to Abraham: "I will bless those who bless you, and curse those who curse you." However, this does not mean I can vehemently disagree with many Jews (by the way to disagree with one Jew means you pretty much automatically agree with many others………Ive never seen one group of people ethnically who are as all over the map politically, which is why conspiracy theorists concerning Jews have to be fools). Neo-Cons like JPod want something that I think will be ultimately BAD for Israel, i.e. pissing off the entire middle east. We dont need to invade anybody.
Our policy towards Israel should be Israel needs to build a big wall around herself, import labor for far east Asia that does not hate her, stay out of middle eastern politics and be a Mediterranean neigbor to Europe. OUR POLICY to secure Israel should be a blanket statement to the whole earth that we'd consider an attack on her by ANYONE (including China or Russia) as an attack on our 51st state. JPod and the neo-cons, trying to snuff out trouble before it exists, will just make us and Israel hated as never before (and we are already hated enough).
JPod also makes a huge strategic miscalculation by supporting gigantic amounts of third world immigration. This just pisses both blacks and whites off. The people who have been here the first 200 years were settlers who subdued a continent and made her wealthy. Coming to America today is like visiting Disneyworld, you didnt build it, it was there. He's alientating the Republican VOTERS. Corporations cant vote, people can. If a good paleo-con with Reaganesqe positions on these issues runs……..a bunch of the past 16 years mischief will get fixed, and JPod can go back to Trotsky, who he has more in common with anyway.
