Portrait by Mark Peterson.
Mark sent me another beautiful picture, but you’re gonna have to wait.
Who is that monkey-looking creature? He looks like an ape dressed up in a suit. Anyone dumb enough to help the Judeofascists rob this country blind and run it into a ditch the way he has is operating with a drug-addled, simian brain to a certainly. He and the entire God-forsaken Bush-Cheney-Clinton generations are clearly examples of reverse evolution. They won’t be happy until the entire country is swinging from trees, hence fulfilling Jewish doctrine that all gentiles are dumb primates. Those three have certainly proven it true enough.
Looks like a second rate Fletch.
Slightly photoshopped? But fantastic page!
I discovered this yesterday hat tip to Ines & Eyal Weizman. Didn't he have trouble with "the lobby" too, at one point?
What, me worry?
HE LOOKS DERANGED!!!!
Well, Philip, your first concern seems to be to devalue her choice of words: by quoting her saying, "the hummus has been decimated," you encourage your reader to assume that her use of the term "genocide" is a nonsensical over-statement. How very ingenious you are.
"Genocide" is an OVERUSED word, that has lost its meaning. "Cide" means to kill. Its doesn't mean to relocate, to tax, to restrict movement, to discrimminate, or even to war, or even institutionally unintended deaths during war. Other words are more appropriate. Still meaningful, more meaningful in fact for their accuracy. When people have children and actual communities that they are a part of, dependant on and others are dependant on them, they often rationally change their views on what is "us".
First of all, I think that Jay is being just a bit hyperbolic when she speaks of "genocide". Between 1935 and 1945 the European Jewish population declined by about 50%. That was genocide. Between 1915 and 1917 the Armenian population of the Ottomon Empire declined by around 50%. That was genocide. In contrast, in the 42 years of Israeli occupation, the Palestinian population in the West Bank and Gaza doubled. That is certainly not genocide. (But then, we live in a time when the economic crisis of 2008-9 has been equated with the Great Depression and conditions Gaza have been equated with those in the Warsaw Ghetto.) The fact that Amy Jay is a Jew is irrelevant. She is just plain wrong-headed, and as she says in her poem the fact that Israelis were victims of Holocaust does not justify their actions in relation to the Palestinians. Well, the same can be said for Jay – just in reverse. Also, the fact that she is young and from the Bay Area, and that somehow this signifies something about the future just makes me laugh. Remember Mario Savio?
If you look at the entire history of Israel's treatment of the Palestinians, then the following should help: http://www.preventgenocide.org/genocide/officialt... "The international legal definition of the crime of genocide is found in Articles II and III of the 1948 Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of Genocide" ""Article II: In the present Convention, genocide means any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as such: (a) Killing members of the group; (b) Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group; (c) Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part; " then it fits the description of genocide, does it not?
I remember her wincing when I would say things like "the hummus has been decimated," at lunch–she wondered how much of the violence in our surroundings had invaded our speech. You said that while in Gaza? You're being much too easy on yourself. In the spirit of the newly enforced comments policy, and to be polite, statements such as that display a fundamental ignorance of your surroundings. I'd be interested in hearing more examples of your Gaza schtick, though. Any jokes involving white phosphorous and kebobs? There are the elements there for a good laugh, I'd think.
Hmm, I think the word "genocide" is excessive. For all that there has been wanton destruction and killing, and a history of ethnic cleansing through forced evacuation, the Israelis are not trying to exterminate the Palestinians. Massacre, yes. Genocide, no. Even "serious people" can get carried away by their emotional reactions, and it's not surprising that someone who has seen Gaza recently would be very emotional on the subject.
A beautiful poem(which touched my heart and brought tears to my eyes) that truly expresses how the Palestinian people's genocide is being enacted slowly but surely before our eyes and what we should be doing about it, while the world's so-called leaders have failed to do anything thus far to end it and have in fact done much over the years to promote it… Muslims, Arabs, and Palestinian right's activists of all walks of life have been all along calling for justice, and a just and comprehensive resolution to the conflict that has thus far been largely ignored or drowned out by the Zionists calls for a Jewish state based on making the Holocaust into an unquestionable doctrine, based on fabricated or distorted historical facts on Palestine such as "A land without a people for a people without a land", and ongoing lies and fabrications concerning Arabs, Muslims, Palestinians… If the people of our world continue waking up little by little, as it seems they are doing today, the days of slow but sure Palestinian genocide at the whittling hands of the Zionists will eventually come to an end, because they will be slowly but surely replaced with truth and justice…..
Jay is spot on "obliterate the Palestinian spirit" along with their homes, businesses, some lives and their integrity. This has been the intention from the beginning. Drip drip drip grab on to more land…ultimately for the "greater Israel" . The blow back is beginning to get far more intense because of not only all of the work of so many who have focused on this un just situation for years…but the added and important work of Phillip, Max and Jay. Thank you. Israel will be far better off with folks who really care about the well being of the Palestinians and the Jews inside the INternationally recognized 67 borders.
RE: "This video is notable to me for Jay's assertion that she had witnessed "genocide" in Israel's efforts to obliterate the Palestinian spirit " SEE ALSO: "Bound, blindfolded and beaten – by Israeli troops", By Ben Lynfield in Hares, West Bank @ "The Independent" (U.K.), 06/09/09 (EXCERPT) Two Israeli officers have testified that troops in the West Bank beat, bound and blindfolded Palestinian civilians as young as 14. The damaging disclosures by two sergeants of the Kfir Brigade include descriptions of abuses they say they witnessed during a search-and-detain operation involving hundreds of troops in Hares village on 26 March. The testimonies have been seen by The Independent and are expected to add fuel to the controversy over recent remarks by Colonel Itai Virob, commander of Kfir Brigade, in which he said violence against detained Palestinians was justified in order to accomplish missions…. OBAMA'S CAIRO SPEECH By Dr. Mahathir Mohamad on June 8, 2009 4:37 PM link to chedet.co.cc
Empathy for the European Jews, displaced persons after WW I, inmates of Stalin's gulags, American slaves, etc. enables one to feel empathy for the peoples oppressed by Israel.
i take it when you say that amy jay is serious you mean that she is emotionally earnest. she is also seriously opposed to any peace that president obama might achieve over the next 8 years. you say that you favor a peace even if it is not strictly according to your ideals. the odds are against obama, but if he succeeds you can expect to find amy jay on opposite sides of the barricades from you, if you too are indeed serious.
Using the legal definition of genocide posted above, combined with the training that the Israeli government Rabbis have been providing to members of the IDF serving in Gaza, what Israel is and has been doing in Gaza absolutely falls under the definition of genocide.
Off topic.this evening,On the Ed schultz show on MSNBC,ed brougth up an article by a rabbi who accused OBAMA of enciting hate agaist the jews and israel. The rabbi compared OBAMA to the NAZIS.Ed claims that he has a knee jerk reaction to support israel and nothing can change his mind .He is THE PEP.Can somebody send him MAX's hate video please. The rabbi and the video migth just do the trick.
Wrong. Genocide does not require murder. International law defines genocide as "intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as such", combined with one of the following acts: (a) Killing members of the group; (b) Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group; (c) Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part; (d) Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group; (e) Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group.
Will I violate the comments policy if I reply to myself? Apologies to manfromatlan as I just regurgitated what he said earlier. That is what I get for trying to post a comment while simultaneously watching the Red Sox-Yankees and Lakers-Magic.
