2 journalists arrested by Israeli police for reporting on ground offensive

Addameer, a Palestinian prisoner advocacy group in Jerusalem, is reporting that two journalists were arrested by Israel [statement here]
in Jerusalem Tuesday for illegal reporting on the ground offensive.

“They have been accused of reporting on Israel’s
ground assault before the Israeli military spokesman had released the
news.  As a result, Mohammad [Sarhan] and Khader [Shahin]
have both been charged with ‘breaching the media code of ethics’.”

    Looks like the 'middle east's only democracy' (as the obsolete slogan went) isn't the outpost of free expression it was reputed to be.

    Naturally, the two arrested journalists are Arabs. Not having served in the IDF and developed insider contacts, they had to do real, gumshoe reporting. Until they were stopped by the authorities for being too effective.

    having ethics, violates the code of ethics.

    it makes sense in a backwards country like israel where they bomb the palestinians indiscriminately while blaming hamas
