Obambiguity

Just trying to get some credit for my coinage of yesteryear. Here's Reuters trying to read the tea leaves on the mind of the Sphinx in chief. Give up now. You'll never know what he thinks on something, till he actually decides to spend political capital on it. Which will soon include Israel/Palestine.

A small group of placard-waving pro-Palestinian demonstrators gathered near U.S. President-elect Barack Obama's vacation retreat in Hawaii on Tuesday to protest against the Israeli airstrikes in Gaza.

Obama has made no public comment on the strikes, which Israel
launched on Saturday. Aides have repeatedly said he is monitoring the
situation…

Some critics, however, say Obama did choose to speak out after the
attacks on the Indian city of Mumbai in November in which gunmen killed
nearly 180 people, condemning them as acts of terrorism.

  1. C'mon, Phil, we know now exactly what Obama thinks: he thinks the sun shines out of AIPAC's ass.

People are noting how carefully Obama selects what he chooses to address for public consumption during transition.

His pattern here is simply more of what he did as a congressmen.

He is constantly sorting out the comparative instant power of different views as a practical matter. This means concerned citizens need to speak up in any way they can–I wish I knew a way to
get Obama to read Phil's blog.

If there was a real public outcry, way more than while Lebanon was being murdered illegally en masse with American-made and paid for cluster bombs, I bet he'd
speak out even before he takes office.
