National Lawyers Guild says one Israel soldier shot three sisters, executing the 2- and 7-year-old, and paralyzing the 4-year-old

From the New York-based National Lawyers' Guild press release of three days ago:

The seven delegates also witnessed the remains of the entire
residential neighborhood of Izbit Abed Rabbo. Resident Khaled Abed
Rabbo told delegates Huwaida Arraf and Radhika Sainath how he witnessed
an Israeli soldier execute his 2 year-old and 7 year-old daughters, on
a sunny afternoon outside his house there. Two other Israeli soldiers
were standing nearby eating chips and chocolates at the time on January
7, 2009. “I will never eat chocolate again,” said Abed Rabbo, who was
formerly employed by the Fateh-led Palestinian authority. His third
daughter, Samar, was also shot and paralyzed by the same Israeli
soldier. Samar, 4 years old, is currently hospitalized for treatment in
Belgium.

Yeah, that's what I mean. There are about three stories that would be murder, if true, but they get repeated over and over and over and over and… I must have seen twenty articles about the Gaza war that talked about the Rabbos. None of them had anything new. Just the same claims repeated again.

Very common propaganda technique. Report that x number of children died, then present an atypical claim as though it were typical so the rubes think that the Israeli soldiers are accused of murdering 400 children rather than being accused of murdering about 5-10 children and killing the rest in ways that are not murder (e.g., crossfire, killed in primary explosions when they were used as human shields for munitions, killed in explosions of Hamas munitions when they were used as human shields for the munitions that Israel blew up, mistaken identification, killed in self defense when the 17 year old "children" fired on the Israelis with automatic weapons, etc.)

  2. Suzanne says:

I don't believe this story. If it's true, then it should be backed up with investigative evidence.

Maybe the guild know more than what's been reported here (in which case, I'd like to see more information).

Can the individual lawyers honestly say they'd could build and prosecute a case against the soldier based on forensic and other evidence?

Is it just me, or is the non-stop, years and years of smearing Israel come across like overkill? In other words, lacking credibility?

Food for thought for those who get so bummed out when Americans don't believe you.

  3. chris berel says:

This is just another one of Philip's allegations that will be proven a lie. Just like his latest sophie's choice bullshit.

  4. Suzanne says:

I think Phil has an unresolved psychological wound over his relationship with his Daddy. It's starting to seep out in his stories.

We'll get to the bottom of this mania yet!

  5. syvanen says:

Oh,oh chris, suzie and thom are getting worried. Too bad the IDF excluded the press, now you guys are going to have to live with the reports from the eye witnesses.

  6. Ed says:

Thom, Suzie and chris, it sure seems there are a lot of people conspiring against the Zionists, from "far left" to "far right," from liberal to libertarian, from first world to second world to third world and every world in between. No doubt it's through no fault of their own. No doubt it's ALWAYS been through no fault of their own. No doubt it's out of pure spite and jealously.

A lot of people were out to get the Nazis and the Communists, too, out of spite and jealousy and no fault of their own, either — other than the fact of oceans of blood on their hands.

The three of you should spend less time posting and more time worrying about where you're going conceal yourselves when wheels of justice start grinding in your direction.

  7. Castellio says:

Do chris suzie and thom get paid to do this? They are ruining the comment section of this site, and that is their intent. I'm just curious if they are doing it for fun or profit.

  8. Thom says:

The only pay I get is the joy of discomfiting anti-Semites who want to rant about the eeeevilll jooos in peace.

As to this Rabbo story, it certainly is a more plausible story than either the original "Sophie's Choice" blood libel from these liars. Who BTW never apologized for lying or defaming the IDF, just said some bullshit about how committed to "accuracy" they are in replacing one unsubstantiated story with another unsubstantiated story… "would you believe…?"

Whether any of the Rabbo story is true, besides the children dying and one being paralyzed, I don't know. It could be that an individual Israeli soldier went nuts. Or it could be that an individual Israeli soldier mistook what he saw for something else. Or it could be the Hamas gunmen were shooting at the Israelis and they fired back and the kids were hit in the crossfire. Or Hamas members might have shot the kids themselves either deliberately or by accident.

The only source of the story is the father. Who is living in a country where saying "Hamas was shooting at the time" is a quick way to get yourself and the rest of your family killed.

The original reports said that all three girls were killed, by an airstrike or a tank shell. Since then the story has changed in significant detail several times.

So while this story is not as obviously suspicious as the Sophie's choice one, it is entirely possible that it is like the Sophie's choice story, a false story of atrocity built around a kernel of unfortunate, but non-criminal war deaths.

  9. LD says:

Can we just ban the Zionist spam? They don't add anything to the discussion. At least Witty TRIES to.

  10. Thom says:

Just because it doesn't agree with your pre-conceived notions that "all Jews are evil except the ones who want to help people who want to kill other Jews", doesn't make it spam,

BTW, the National Socialist Lawyers Guild attacking Israel is nothing new. They caused a flap in some law school a few years back when they posted a blood libel poster, similar in tone to, but not as blatant as, Barbara Lubin's little white lie, in their offices at the law school.

  11. Paul Malfara says:

    Hasbara Central Alert:

    Loyal tribesmen,

When flooding sites with bullshit in order to dilute any meaningful discussion, please keep these following points in mind:

    1. Be stupid. As mentioned above, we don't want any meaningful discussion of the topic of the Israel / Palestine conflict. It's fortunate that the majority of you willing to contribute time know very little about the topic. Don't show that you have any understanding of it; you will just lose the ensuing arguments.

    2. When you lose arguments, as you inevitably will, just smear your opponents as anti-semites. Although this smear has lost most of its taint through rampant overuse against people who just want peace in the Middle East, it still carries a stink in some quarters. Let's use this tool as long as possible before discarding it.

    3. No matter how bad the atrocities carried out by our beloved IDF, upstage them with horror stories of Hamas. They throw people off of roofs, don't you know. We only drop bombs on roofs, but they throw people off of them.

    4. Remember, Jews can be anti-semites too, so don't hold back in condemning any Jew who speaks out against Isreali action as such, or at least label them "self-hating".

    5. A particularly effective strategy against anti-semitic and self-hating Jews
is to question their mental health. Bring up subjects such as their relationships with their parents, whether they were breast fed or not, and at what age they were toilet trained. Bring as much shit in to the argument as possible.

Please keep your eyes peeled for our latest updates.

  12. MRW. says:

If eyewitness reports were good enough for the Nuremberg trials, why not the National Lawyer's Guild?

Remember, there were no forensic archaeologists and forensic anthropologists at the trials. No evidence of that kind, only hearsay, testimony not taken under oath, and evidence acquired by torture. At best, three pieces of parchment with tattoos passed off as part of lampshades later disgraced as false.

  13. MRW. says:

By way of explanation: I became a penpal, of sorts, of one of the Nuremberg lawyers during the Kosovo War. I dont remember his name right now. He was from Rockford IL. He has since died.

He told me about the evidence. He said the Nuremberg evidence was not forensic: the court didn't require it; it never dawned on them. I have since read major portions of the trial.

  14. Sin Nombre says:

Wait a minute here Thom, Suzanne, et. al.:

Okay, just like the Sophie's Choice story this one might be false. And even if true it might well be being used as propaganda. But what isn't disputable it seems is that the Chief Rabbinate of Israel's army was telling Israel's soldiers going into Gaza that the Palestinians were like the Philistines, clearly implying that all of them were fair game.

And he then cited Maimonides as saying that "one must not be enticed by the folly of the Gentiles who have mercy for the cruel".

I always wonder if the Israel haters like Phil actually believe these stories

  17. chris berel says:

He hopes to allah that they are true so that he can vindicate his absurd hatreds.

  18. Suzanne says:

"I always wonder if the Israel haters like Phil actually believe these stories."

Good question! Probably not. Which is even worse, isn't it?

  19. Observer says:

Suzanne: "Can the individual lawyers honestly say they'd could build and prosecute a case against the soldier based on forensic and other evidence?"

This is a good question, a question ignored in the war crimes trials
of Germans 1946 et seq. As MRW points out, and accurately. As a
former trial attorney, I know that eye witness testimony is particularly unreliable. Anglo-Saxon rules of evidence did not apply to trials of alleged Holocaust crimes. In no sense were those trials, including most of the trials post-Nuremberg, fair trials under long-standing traditional principals of evidence and trial law. I've actually read many of the volumes on the Nuremberg trials, which I did purely out of curiosity while in law school. But you don't need to do that. Nowadays, there are many accounts of
just how unfair those trials were, complete with extensive foot note citations and case examples, easily available on the internet.

As a practical historical note, the holocaust "eye-witnesses" were
well paid, housed, and fed, and carefully rehearsed to the extreme. Their memories were not merely "jogged" but rather
outright production of fraudulent testimony was a regular tool of the prosecution, a prosecution who alone got to cherry pick from the 450 tons of captured records, hold them exclusively for themselves to so pick and choose, the cherries only .to be given to the defense at the last minute. Torture was often used, as well as threats the defendant's family would be turned over to the soviets. Memoirs of many prominent politicians and some members of the proscecution testify to these things. Again, anyone can find this information if they are a truth-seeker.

Assuming everyone on this blog is a truth-seeker, they might wish to follow the calls across the world for new war crimes trials
and keep trying to amass and sort through all forms of evidence.

It sure takes time and a thick skin to wade through propaganda
    and cover-ups.

I read recently, though I've not verified it, that the main Holocaust museum in Israel has admitted that of 20,000 eye-witness accounts on record there, half have been found to be frauds.

And as to "forensic affidavit summaries." One particular
fraud in the original trials was the Katyn Forrest incident involving the "proven" mass execution of thousands of Polish elite by Germans–it took many decades before Russia admitted that it had been done by the communist regime because those Poles would not assimilate to Communism.

  20. Observer says:

I see the National Lawyers Guild is set to film interviews with eye-witnesses in Gaza. Memories should be about as fresh as they get
so soon after lifting of the press ban. I plan to watch the NLG's web site for further results. The Guild appears to me to be more objective than either the IDF or HAMAS.

  21. Suzanne says:

holocaust deniers like to suggest there was not enough physical evidence to prove genocide on the largest scale in history.

spend less time posting and more time worrying about where you're going to conceal yourselves when the wheels of justice start grinding

That is good advice for Americans, too, who are just as guily of war crimes as Israelis. Every military action must be followed up with a Nuremberg-like investigation, prosecution and punishment.

  23. American says:

Sussie, Berl and Thom sound like little teenage activist….and not very bright ones at that.

I suggest not responding to them, they never offer anything but the typical vacant mind teenage rants.

  24. LanceThruster says:

American – I think you are right. Engaging them is an exercise in futility. They do not respond in any intelligent manner but rather continue their poo-flinging in some other direction.

It is the net version of the swarm tactic whereby they mean to incapacitate everything else by their mere presence.

  25. Duscany says:

What is it with the IDF and shooting kids? Are they so afraid that if they don't get them now in ten or fifteen years they'll be old enough to shoot back?
