The best thing about the blogosphere

by Philip Weiss on March 4, 2009 · 29 comments

School is that I can run this AP photograph from Gaza, taken in January by German photographer Anja Niedringhaus, as often as I like. I've run it once. I ought to run it every day. The boy at the right is Mohammed Kutkut. He's 14. His dead classmate–of three killed classmates, the boy who shared his desk–was Ahed Qaddas. I wonder what these boys even think about the two-state solution, or their own futures.

And yes, I reflect that when I was 12, my best friend J.R. Krevans ran up to me in Mt. Washington Elementary School and crowed that the Israeli army had just destroyed the Egyptian and Syrian air force on the ground. I had little idea what J.R. was talking about. I got lucky that way. Missed my inoculation.

The fact that you are relating this to a memory from when you were 12 is quite valuable, Phil: it humanises and legitimates your present-day views, and fortifies you against the sort of ad hominem criticism we seem to to receive so much of.

The best thing about the blogosphere is that I can run this as often as I like.

Compare it to the Palestinian who shot, at point blank range, a bullet in the skulls of a pregnant woman, and, in turn, slowly, methodically, each of her four pre-teen daughters.

By the way, he shot the mother in the belly first, so that before she died, she would no that her unborn child was already dead.

Go on Phil. Keep defending Palestinian terrorism. I want you to dream that dream every night of the rest of your life.

Incredible photograph. Mourning the loss of their friends; pondering the depth of the Israelis' depravity. When will it end?

4 Rowan Berkeley March 4, 2009 at 4:07 pm

morbid much, chris?

When I was growing up the LDS kids would brag to me about their church (that it had its own newspaper, and radio and TV station and it's own state (Utah, supposedly). I'd go back and tell my dad and he said (jokingly), "You tell those boys we have hundreds of TV and radio stations around the world, and many newspapers, and the pope has his own country and own army" (we were Roman Catholic).

Those boys didn't brag so much to me after that (other than the requisite, "We know this is the one true church and Joesph Smith is God's prophet")

Well, supposedly "The Jews(tm)" have their own country, and own army, and plenty media outlets everywhere, and the ability to siphon treasure from others to fund it, and claim to be still kicking @ss. Is this any way to run a democracy? How about a theocracy?

Your story of your school chum's braggadocio regarding the IDF kicking @ss reminded me of that.

Hey Chris,

People that live in a stolen country, generally on stolen property, and often in stolen homes and that defame, demonize and periodically slaughter their victims, reap what they sow. American Jewish Zionists that aid and abet the thieves as co-conspirators deserve the same from the victims of Zionism, and the US government should clawback $6-8 trillion from both Zionists as a part of just retribution for Zionist fraud.

Jews unhappy that lots of people hate and want to kill Jews because of Jewish Zionist crimes should demand the removal of the criminal Zionist population from Stolen and Occupied Palestine, the return to Palestine of the native population, and the recoveyance of stolen property to their rightful owners with payment of compensatory and exemplary damages.

See Decent Muslims Versus Evil Jews.

chris berel, and his true believers, such as Suzanne, SOG, and Thom, just want to keep goy soldiers
protecting Likud Israel, and they want to keep goy taxpayers paying for their agenda. They hate goys, this is obvious.

Chris,

The actual sequence of events, as recorded by eye witnesses, of the killing of pregnant Tali Hatuel and her four children: Hila, Hadar, Roni, and Meirav in Gaza in May 2004 is different from what you are describing. I think the story evolves a bit each time you use it.

I wish you would call victim by her name – she deserves that much even if she is a repeatedly used (five? six times now?) as a pawn in a your hasbara endeavor.

9 Norm March 4, 2009 at 8:15 pm

Eva: I wish you would call victim by her name – she deserves that much even if she is a repeatedly used (five? six times now?) as a pawn in a your hasbara endeavor.

But that would identify this as a single incident. Since this apparently is the only such story he has in his arsenal (compared to maybe hundreds on the Palestinian side), it is necessary to repeat it over and over, maybe changing it a little here and there each time, to lend the appearance that this sort of thing is a routine crime committed by the evil Palestinians all the time.

10 Thom March 4, 2009 at 8:22 pm

Thank you Eva. I've asked Chris on another thread for details to this Palestinian atrocity (not sure whether he posted them). I demanded details when Barbara Lubin told her lies about Israelis committing an atrocity, and I hold us to the same standard.

Chris’s story has more details than I have found elsewhere, such as where these innocent murder victims were shot. I don't know whether the locations where they were shot are correct. However, the reports I have found show that the relevant details are correct. These Palestinian terrorists shot at her car, it spun off the road, then they went in and in cold blood and with malice aforethought, deliberately murdered a pregnant woman and her four daughters.

Actually, Chris left out the sequel, where Palestinian gunmen dressed as women tried to shoot up a memorial service for the murdered woman and children.

Ah, those peace-loving Palestinians.

Funny how when an atrocity by Palestinians is reported, it generally turns out to be true, but when an atrocity by Israelis is reported, it is usually false. E.g., Jenin, and the UN school where “40 dead civilians” turned out to be nine members of a Hamas attack squad and three civilians killed in the crossfire, etc.

11 Shirin March 4, 2009 at 8:46 pm

Eva, Norm,

This story, which Chris and others keep repeating over and over and over an over again, is five years old. Now, if you google Palestinian murder Israeli you will get quite a few hits on that story and that story only from anti-Islam hate sites like Jihad watch, anti-Palestinian sites, and right wing Zionist sites, and blogs. And you will get pages and pages of hits from mainstream media sources from the U.S. and Europe for story after story of Pregnant Palestinian women being killed by Israelis.

The murder of that woman and her four children, whatever the details, was a terrible crime, and a huge tragedy. Any life lost is tragic, and young lives ended by violence are many times more tragic. It's interesting, though, how eagerly some of the writers embroidered and expanded on that incident, and used it as a vehicle for their racist hatred and bigotry. This seems to me very disrespectful of the victims to say the least.

And it is interesting how the details of the story keep changing.

12 Chris Berel March 4, 2009 at 9:07 pm

What makes it worse is that Arafat praised these murderers. Dream about it Phil. Think of the woman as your wife, the unborn son, your son, the murdered little girls, your daughters.

Cold blood, phil.

And the Palestinians danced when they got the news.

And the Palestinian leadership called them heroes.

13 Rowan March 4, 2009 at 11:19 pm

where do you get all this hate-filled fantasy you spout, chris?

14 Edmund March 4, 2009 at 11:55 pm
15 Rowan Berkeley March 5, 2009 at 2:24 am

Edmund, what's your point, exactly?

16 Edmund March 5, 2009 at 2:54 am

"Edmund, what's your point, exactly?"

It is disturbing, isn't it? Maybe that's the point.

17 Matthew Davis March 5, 2009 at 4:29 am

So Edmund, you just brilliantly knocked something up in Inkscape and that's pornographic (I can just see your 14 year old friends giggling at you high school lunchtime), and think it "disturbs us".

But the real disturbance your image manipulation software can't conceal is the enormous damage done to Israeli wall of shame companies, the cultural and academic boycotts being organised world-wide and the South African Council Of Trade Unions refusing to ship your small countries massive stocks of weapons of mass destruction.

See Edmund – we know what really disturbs you!

18 Rowan Berkeley March 5, 2009 at 6:06 am

If you think that you have made a 'point' with that obscene paste-up, you need to grow up.

19 Chris's Stools March 5, 2009 at 9:24 am
20 Chris Berel March 5, 2009 at 11:07 am

Exactly how many true stories are there regarding pregnant palestinian women murdered by Israelis?

21 Rowan March 5, 2009 at 11:14 am

It depends what you mean by 'murdered', chris. Many people seem to consider that killing people in large numbers by using artillery or bombing them from the air is not 'murder'. It's all a matter fo definition.

22 Thom March 5, 2009 at 12:15 pm

@Rowan

So basically,"none" is what you are saying.

23 LanceThruster March 5, 2009 at 1:22 pm

I'll just say it again. If Israel is so certain that it would be shown to be acting in a legal and ethical manner, it should welcome the scrutiny. Allow contact with prisoners in their jails to find out about torture and detention w/o charges. Allow reporters to accompany IDF troops. Until that time that there is independent verification of their claims, they can pretty much say anything they want. Remember, this is the nation that does not admit (officially) to even having a nuclear weapons program. Mordechai Vanunu knows otherwise and is being detained illegally himself.

24 chris berel March 5, 2009 at 4:43 pm

Say it as many tiomes as you'd like. It remains bullshit. And you remain a bullshitter.

25 LanceThruster March 5, 2009 at 5:16 pm

@Israel

You say: "We are telling the truth. Trust us!"

World sez: "But you lied about the use of white phosphorus."

You say: "OK, but it was just that one time. Trust us!"

World sez: "How about some indepentdent verification?"

You say: "We'll verify it for you. Trust us!"

World sez: "OK, how about your nuclear weapons program?"

You say: "We don't have one. Trust us!"

World sez: "Are you sure? One of your officials admitted it."

You say: "Of course we're sure. We double checked. Trust us!"

World sez: "So Vanunu is under house arrest for revealing secrets about a program that deosn't exist?"

You say: "That's about the size of it. Trust us!"

Seems someone is an expert at horse bull.

26 LD March 5, 2009 at 7:43 pm

Berel, isn't the point of this Zionist cyber-activism, to convert people to your constituency?

Like, aren't you supposed to be convincing or at the very least, sane?

You're the gift that keeps on giving. A light unto the nations!

27 Chris Berel March 5, 2009 at 8:43 pm

LD, the purpose is to show you that everyone reads through your bullshit. It is designed to demoralize you to the point that you realize that your antisemitic lifestyle only reveals your hatreds.

Hopefully the exposure, like sunlight to cockroaches, forces you back underground so that 14 year old budding antisemites might realize that people like you are repugnant to humanity at large.

capish?

Convert assholes? Why convert an asshole like you?

28 LD March 5, 2009 at 10:51 pm

Hahaha. Are you serious? Who talks like that… Is this really happening? Please tell me this is an elaborate joke.

"[...]designed to demoralize to the point that you realize that your antisemitic lifestyle only reveals you hatreds."

Someone decipher this hilarious nonsense for me. I'm surprised you were able to spell demoralize correctly.

"Hopefully the exposure, like sunlight to cockroaches, forces you back underground so that 14 year old budding antisemites might realize that people like you are repugnant to humanity at large."

You're so eloquent, Berel. Seriously, I nearly shed a tear at your analogy. So simple, yet poignant.

You truly have a way with words.

"Convert assholes? Why convert an asshole like you?"

Oh snap! I see what you did there! Loaded question! You're so awesome Berel! You sure showed me! I've been demoralized!

Curses! Foiled again!

And I would have succeeded if it weren't for you meddling Zionists!

Really, please don't ever leave this blog. Israel needs courageous self-sacrificing patriots like yourself to spread the word and sound ze alarm!

Fighting antisemitism with such wit and wisdom!

29 Matthew Davis March 6, 2009 at 3:45 am

Did you know that Arab Israelis are actually Semites as well – Chris?

Why can't they talk about the Nakbah and the way their diaspora is discriminated against in Lebanon and Israel and Jordan as much as the Hebrew tribe of Semites do the Holocaust?

According to the latest article in the Lancet, the most distinguished of all medical journals that you can register to read for free, medical aid is denied Palestinian children who are dying of malnutrition – fellow Semites, you see!

From Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Semitic

"The term Semite means a member of any of various ancient and modern people originating in southwestern Asia, including Akkadians, Canaanites, Phoenicians, Hebrews, Arabs, and Ethiopian Semites."

I agree with you Chris – sunlight is the best detergent against cockroaches – but mate, who's are the cockroaches? People who oppose racial inequality, or those who see it as natural and inevitable!
