Don’t you think it’s a story that essentially NO "conservative" media outlets and blogs think that the arrest of a former NASA scientist for allegedly seeking to sell classified secrets to Israel is a story? Where’s Drudge on this? Where are any of the conservative commenters who claim to care about national security?
Besides the news stories (Bloomberg is probably the best) you should glance at the affidavit for the quotes from tapes of the subject, his request for an Israeli passport, etc.. And this background bio info.

Note that in the FBI affidavit, it is stated that Nozette worked for an Israeli aerospace company for several years and that he told the "false flag" FBI agent that both his parents were Jewish and that he has the "right of return" to Israel, on that basis sought a passport.
I noticed in various reports that I’ve read on this case that the DoJ is claiming the suspect wasn’t approached by Israeli agents. They claim that the suspect himself approached the Israelis and offered them information in exchange for cash.
So, I wonder if that were truly the case, or if the DoJ decided to pretend Israel had nothing to do with it so as to not raise the ire of AIPAC.
As you may remember, a couple of years ago, two former AIPAC employees were arrested on charges of espionage, but the DoJ dropped the charges out of the blue.

there were no Israelis involved at all, unless you know something I don’t. Please show me these reports from various news organizations that Israel was involved. Its my understanding it was an FBI counter terror agent posing as an Israeli intelligence officer.
Don’t get me wrong, this guy broke the law and need to be prosecuted. He should also be punished for his stupidity, but that is another matter.
How did they know that this guy would be willing to sell out to Israel? And not, say, China, or Great Britain?

I guess the title of this post changed. It said something about “dual loyalty” when I originally posted that comment. I was talking about the NASA scientist.
I know, I was adding that the US conservatives generally (“patriotards”) are loyal to Israel.
The best part was when he demanded his compensation for espionage in less than $10,ooo increments, the IRS reporting threshhold. A stickler for legality.

Interestingly, NOzette told the FBI agents that he assumed the company he consulted for, which is owned by the Israeli government, is a “front” for Israeli intelligence operations. It appears that people at that company were submitting questions to Nozette, which he was answering, before the FBI got involved.

From the affidavit it seems apparent that Nozette’s motivation was money, so one would suppose that Indian money would be just as attractive to him as Israeli money. The point that he believed this was the first Mossad approach to him is important. On the other hand, it’s also possible that Israeli intelligence operatives would not identify themselves as such to maintain deniability. Another interesting point, not touched on, I think, is that Israel and India have cooperated closely in various security related fields. The neocon Spengler’s latest column, FWIW, speculates that Israel/India/Russia might form a consortium to develop a fighter jet in competition with the US F-35.

Before the FBI became involved Nozette took a trip to Israel carrying a couple of small portable hard drives. When he came back to the US he didn’t have them anymore. Apparently Nozette regarded the approach by the fake Mossad agents as a continuation of his former efforts on behalf of Israel.

I mean that’s what I always thought, [the foreign company] was just a front,” would appear to refer to his activity with the Israeli company–answering questions they posed to him. As I suggested, it’s conceivable that an Israeli intelligence officer may have been working for the company and directing contacts with Nozette, while not acknowledging his true function. We may never know the truth of that–it will depend on what the Government needs to prove at a trial, and the Government will doubtless attempt to reveal the bare minimum necessary. And of course there may be a plea deal.

MY COMMENT: It has long been suspected that the state-owned ‘Israel Aircraft Industries’ carries out much of Israel’s über-aggressive ‘industrial espionage’ here in the U.S. and in Europe.
