Anti-anti-semitism (Colonist rabbi issues book giving rules on when it’s cool to kill gentiles)

From the Maan News agency. Oh and Haaretz has the same story, and says this wingnut has the endorsement of other West Bank colonist rabbis, and his book says that if babies and children threaten the Jewish state you can ice em. Babies and children? I never got this memo.

Jews have the right to kill non-Jews in just about any circumstance, according to Israeli news reports quoting Rabbi Yitzhak Shapiro, the head of a Jewish religious school in the illegal settlement of Yitzhar, near Nablus.

"If we kill a gentile who has sinned or has violated one of the seven commandments… there is nothing wrong with the murder," Shapiro wrote, according to Hebrew-language Israeli newspaper Maariv on Monday.

“Jews have the right to kill non-Jews in just about any circumstance, according to Israeli news reports quoting Rabbi Yitzhak Shapiro, the head of a Jewish religious school in the illegal settlement of Yitzhar, near Nablus.”

Why didn’t somebody tell that to the thousands of Jews in Europe who went peacably to the camps (the death camps, not religious summer camp)? Why not, o God, why not? Maybe it was a more recent communication.
Well, at least they know it now! And Goddammit, the couple million of us are gonna show the billions of you who’s frickin boss now!

  2. Saleema says:

Scanning the comments of Haaretz, people were more worried about anti-semitism than the immorality of it.

If people in Europe can go to jail for holocaust denial then this rAbbi should go to jail for incitement to hate. But I suppose being a jew in israel comes with certain privalages

  3. potsherd says:

For the memo, it’s filed under “Amalekites.”

  4. radii says:

I saw this elsewhere and am kind of surprised to see it here, but it deserves to be seen by everyone everywhere. There is a core of murderous religious fanaticism in the settler movement and among a segment of the wider jewish population, particularly radical zionists, that is supremacist and extremely malevolent in nature. It needs to be exposed. Thanks to Phil for posting the article.

    • Mooser says:

“There is a core of murderous religious fanaticism in the settler movement and among a segment of the wider jewish population, particularly radical zionists, that is supremacist and extremely malevolent in nature.”

What “core”? The settlers couldn’t do a thing without the protection of the Israeli military. Expansion by settlement, provocation and agression is Israeli government policy. Since it’s a risky gambit, and may involve a settlement or two sacrificed as human sheilds, the Israelis use religious nuts for the purpose.
Just a couple of things we can all be proud of in temple this Saturday.

  5. Mooser says:

Why do I get the feeling that Israel is just using the settlers, and will sacrifice them to a tragic end? What the hell kind of government allows this? Talk about “human shields”
It really hurts when you think that with years of therapy and a shitload of psychotropic drugs some of those settlers could stay out of jail or even possibly work. What a tragic waste.

  6. javs says:

    Tragic,
The most understated word when mentioning aparthied and crimes against humanity which have run amuck into the united states politics and personel ever since I can recall.
Radicals are in the U.S. government running the show when will they be quashed.
The fact that people are stupid and dumbed down along with the religous fervor
that is in itself BS, and god never existed is reason enough to send all whom dwell in the world to a walled in confinment to be imprisoned for the backing of such atroscities in the world which after hearing the netanyahoo speach on all the good they have created ( the a bomb, weapons of mass destruction, the god illusion, the list is too long.
It seems it will possibly end along with the civilization..knowing how the so called politicians and leaders are party to all this terror. The lessons will be learned lets hope the main one is never to let another religous bunch of cults do what has been done ever again.
get a grip there is no god you have all been played by the best players who now have run out of plays, and will take down human civilization with it. So do you really need these people in charge of anything ever ?????

Maariv has the story too . . . . here’s a translation. (I apologize that I’ve posted this in two threads earlier today, esp after it came out at 9:30 AM)
Settler Rabbi publishes “The complete guide to killing non-Jews”
    link to didiremez.wordpress.com

Of course, this edict doesn’t look too good for Obama, does it….

  8. MRW says:

If anyone wonders why anti-semitism is going to spread after this gets around, guess again.

  9. “…the head of a Jewish religious school in the illegal settlement of Yitzhar, near Nablus.”

Are American tax dollars funding these ‘hate factories’ where ‘future terrorists’ will be produced? Unbelievable.

Anyone think Joe Liberman knows about this misappropriation of US aid?

  10. The Ha’aretz story concludes with this:

“Several prominent rabbis, including Rabbi Yithak Ginzburg and Rabbi Yaakov Yosef, have recommended the book to their students and followers.”

It appears to be an idea with legs in Israel, which is hardly surprising after Operation Cast Lead and the Second Lebanon War.

A pet fantasy of mine is that I somehow gain entrance to the annual AIPAC conference in Washington and conduct interviews with all the attendees, asking this question, “Do you think Jews have the intrinsic right to kill gentiles who get in the way of The Jewish State of Israel?”

  11. MRW says:

The links to these stories need to be sent to your congressman, because you know they all voted to stop pressuring Israel over the settlements. Out tax dollars go to support this heinous behavior and thinking?

Dont forgot the link I posted at November 9, 2009 at 9:24 pm….it contains a translation of the complete Maariv article apparently. Maariv broke the story today.

  12. MRW says:

So I guess Sasha and Malia Obama are fair game from these rabbis’ points-of-view. Appalling.

  13. MRW says:

Non-Jews get called virulently anti-semitic for quoting instructions like these out of the Talmud (Sanhedrin), accused of spreading “vicious lies” about ancient Jewish edicts that ‘no one takes seriously anymore’. Along comes this tripe — this dangerous and vile tripe — and it’s all the anti-gentilism in the Jewish Bible. How are they going to cover this crap this time? Maariv (I think it’s that article, if not, one of the other two) says that the rabbis used the Bible, then added their spin on it.

  14. Nolan says:

So what would you call this, “Jihad Old Testament Style”? Too long.

    • potsherd says:

Genocide Old Testament Style. The biblical history of the Israelite conquest of Canaan is one genocide after another. This fact is somehow overlooked by those who consider it the “good book” but it is in fact a mandate for genocide.

And the settlers, whose speeches never fail to include references to the fate of Amalek, embrace this mandate.

  15. Rehmat says:

Some of these Rabbis paint a very ugly picture of Judaism. For example, Rabbi Yitzhak Ginzberg wrote: “A Jew is entitled to extract the liver from a goy if he needs it, for the life of a Jew is more valuable than the life of a goy. Likewise, the life of a goy is more valuable than the life of an animal.”

  16. Sin Nombre says:

In an odd way it seems to me this presents the Israeli government with a huge opportunity:

Just a few weeks ago in reaction to a private newspaper in Norway I believe publishing a story pondering whether the IDF had harvested organs from some Palestinians it had killed the Israeli government officially demanded that the Norwegian gov’t repudiate this suggestion.

My sense is that it did get some official reaction due to this demand—the Norwegian Prez. or etc. saying it was a repulsive story or something. But in any event think of how good the Israeli government would look to have Netanyahu or Peres repudiate what their own citizen-nutball has now said.

Biggest favor it could possibly do for the average Israeli and indeed the average jewish person too who has just slapped their forehead out of amazement and disgust at this.

We’ll see, but if I’m correct the Right wing in Israel is without hesitation going to utterly fail this little test of just how much it really cares about its oh-so-frequently proclaimed duty to represent all Israelis and indeed to a significant extent all jews too.

… and then the Right-wingers will sit back and endlessly ask why Diaspora jews around the world are becoming ever more estranged from Israel.
    Hmmmm, mystery of mysteries….

    • MRW says:

You’re right about the opportunity, Sin Nombre, but Netanyahu wont take it. He’s not smart enough. He wanted this leadership position for a long, long time, and now he is the darling of the settlers. I believe he’s firmly convinced that the American Diaspora can control Obama to his liking, while he controls the home fires. Problem is that Netanyahu and all the other old white men around the world have not picked up on a change in world consciousness. They think it’s still the 20th C. Israel is particularly out of touch; it just doesn’t know it, quite apart from the 1810 AD-shtetl mentality in the WB. The Abrahamic religions are cooked.

Chaos:Forgive my theological naivete but… seven commandments? Isn’t that, like, three short?

The genocidal mani… I mean rabbi was referring to the seven “Noahide” laws: 1. no idolatry 2. no cursing God 3. no murder 4. no illicit sex 5. no stealing 6. establish a judicial system 7. don’t eat a limb from an animal without slaughtering it first. (Maimonides, Laws of Kings, 9,1).

As the late George Carlin said: “You don’t need ten”:

      • MRW says:

That Carlin clip is a classic, and ENTIRELY apropos this topic.

“don’t eat a limb from an animal without slaughtering it first???” Yeech. Is that some BCE delicacy? Like ancient meat sushi/sashimi they engaged in? But Maimonides was 12th C, wasn’t he? So, what were the rules before then?

        Carlin says it all.

      • Shmuel says:

MRW: But Maimonides was 12th C, wasn’t he? So, what were the rules before then?

Maimonides was a codifier, drawing upon earlier sources, primarily the Talmud. It is doubtful whether the Noahide Laws were ever enforced – having been developed when Jews no longer had any temporal power. Maimonides’ Laws of Kings is a messianic fantasy in which he tried to reconcile ancient impotent rabbinic ramblings with a coherent system of government. This maniac from Yitzhar (and far too many like him) obviously doesn’t get the fantasy part. Which of our august members was it who was working on a sepulchral spinometer? I think Maimonides could use one about now.

But Carlin indeed says it all.

      • Mooser says:

“Which of our august members was it who was working on a sepulchral spinometer?”

I thought maybe it might be a source of electricity if we hooked ‘em up to a dynamo.

      Wikipedia to the rescue:

The Seven Laws of Noah (Hebrew: שבע מצוות בני נח‎ Sheva mitzvot B’nei Noach), often referred to as the Noahide Laws or Noachide Code, are a set of seven moral imperatives that, according to the Talmud, were given by God to Noah as a binding set of laws for all mankind.[1] According to Judaism any non-Jew who lives according to these laws is regarded as a Righteous Gentile and is assured of a place in the world to come (Olam Haba), the Jewish concept of heaven.[2] Adherents are often called “B’nei Noach” (Children of Noah) or “Noahides” and may often network in Jewish synagogues.

The seven laws listed by the Tosefta and the Talmud are[3]

      1. Prohibition of Idolatry: You shall not have any idols before God.
      2. Prohibition of Murder: You shall not murder. (Genesis 9:6)
      3. Prohibition of Theft: You shall not steal.
      4. Prohibition of Sexual Promiscuity: You shall not commit any of a series of sexual prohibitions, which include adultery, incest, bestiality and male homosexual intercourse.
      5. Prohibition of Blasphemy: You shall not blaspheme God’s name.
      6. Dietary Law: Do not eat flesh taken from an animal while it is still alive. (Genesis 9:4)
      7. Requirement to have just Laws: Set up a governing body of law (eg Courts)

      Seven Laws of Noah

    • Citizen says:

Not the Ten Commandments, Moses came down with for the Jews (nor the 613 later prescribed for them) , but the 7 Noahide Laws later prescribed by the Jews for Gentiles. Can you read your doctor’s prescription? Can the pharmicist? Just joking.
Maybe only really need 2 laws, the Golden Rule as worded by the Jews (Don’t do anything to others you wouldn’t want done to you, and the Christian version, Do onto others as you would have them do onto you.

      • Shmuel says:

Citizen: the Golden Rule as worded by the Jews (Don’t do anything to others you wouldn’t want done to you

Or Confucius, some four centuries before Hillel. You’re right about the basis for ethical behaviour, but specifics help. They also give lawyers something to do :-)

Perhaps the other three were rendered unreadable due to acid rain or something.

  19. VR says:

The seven laws are Noachide Laws, which are the “responsibility of the gentiles.” The children of Noah are presumed to be the gentiles, the children of Israel are the descendants of Jacob (which are supposed to fulfill the 613 laws of Torah).

    The seven laws pertain to:

    Avodah Zarah: Prohibition on idolatry.
Birchat HaShem: Prohibition on blasphemy and cursing the name
    of god.
    Shefichat Damim: Prohibition on murder.
Gezel: Prohibition on robbery and theft.
Gilui Arayot: Prohibition on immorality and forbidden sexual relations.
Ever Min HaChay: Prohibition on removing and eating a limb from a live
    animal.
Dinim: Requirement to establish a justice system and courts of law to
    enforce the other 6 laws.

The gentile who fulfills them is considered “Chasidei Umot Haolam,” the pious ones of the nations. Torah says that one who fulfills the seven laws Ger Toshav, a proselyte of the gate.

      • edwin says:

It is certainly a simple solution. Like most simple solutions it falls short. I rather suspect that Stalin was an atheist. It certainly was the state religion of the country.

In Nazi Germany there were such people as Baldur von Schirach, Artur Axmann, Martin Bormann, Richard Strauss, Adolf Wagner (link to en.wikipedia.org

There is no question that the rise of athiesm and the rise of tolerance has gone hand in hand. There is also no question that atheists are capable of the same evil as anyone else. I do think, though, you may be hearkening back to a time in a way you claim to oppose. I would suggest that the age of tolerance has a lot of good possibilities to offer. There are some athiests, churches, mosques, temples, etc. that are fully on board.

If you goal is the further weaking of religion, you could do a whole lot worse than make common cause with people of any religious stripe who are in complete agreement with tolerance as a goal.

      • Shmuel says:

        Edwin:

… people of any religious stripe who are in complete agreement with tolerance as a goal

Where I live, the two dominant ideological groups in just about every “good fight” are atheist-communists and devout Catholics – with the difference that the former tend to represent the values of their hierarchy, while the latter tend to be renegades and exceptions. Having said that, cooperation between the two groups usually works quite well, with a lot of mutual respect.

      • tree says:

Good point, edwin. Atheism itself does not necessarily lead to tolerance of, or kindness to, one’s fellow man or woman.

  20. VR says:

“Also, anyone who weakens our own state by word or similar action is considered a pursuer…” so says the nutty settler “rabbi.” I think he has fingered the wrong “pursuer,” and plays a bit of a role reversal. All use of religious edict within the sphere of the political is nothing but the continuation of the chief use of religion, to drive the masses in the direction of the will of the few. That is why religion in general should not be anywhere near the seat of power.

    • MRW says:

These settler rabbi nutcases are saying its alright to off Obama and his kids. This is Yitzhak Rabin all over again. And some nutjob is going to try it.

I grew up in the Catholic church and was screaming for mercy from their tenets by the time I was 15. This is the same garbage, only worse because these idiots are putting it on paper for the beholden to go out and enact. Mark my words. It’s going to happen to someone. Sick Mofos.

Where is Noami998? What Noami998 can tell us about this story?

  22. Shmuel says:

I’ll save Nomi the trouble: The Arabs are far worse – 50-line cut and paste from Memri – but you leftist, racist, anti-Semites never mention that.

  23. Shingo says:

Where’s Nomi when you need him?

I would ove to hear his explanation for this, given his belief that all Muslims belong to a collective, surely the same must apply to Jews?

  24. Citizen says:

So, let’s see, a German citizen can go to jail for holding the left hand out straight and up, and a US tax-funded American Israeli settler can peddle to kids advocation of murder of Gentiles; Streicher was tortured, then hung for his little anti-semitic cartoons in a childish newspaper that had a tiny and short-lived circulation.

    • marc b. says:

Citizen, I don’t mean to be insensitive, but who gives a flying f@ck what happened to Julius Streicher? May he rot in hell. And his role in the rise of National Socialism was a bit more involved than a few ‘anti-Semitic cartoons’, as you put it.

      • Mooser says:

You have got to give Citizen the room he needs, marc b, to reach his conclusions.

Obviously, Julius Streicher’s execution shows the power of the Jews to control the media and speech. Death for publishing a few cartoons, can you imagine!

      • VR says:

Of course, if you did apply with the same rigor the conclusions of Nuremberg on US presidents and Israeli primes ministers, since the end of WW2 they would all have to be hung (Streicher got what he deserved, what about the others I mentioned?). However, that is another story

JERUSALEM_ Rabbis affiliated with the Israeli army urged troops heading into Gaza to reclaim what they said was God-given land and “get rid of the gentiles” — effectively turning the 22-day Israeli intervention into a religious war, according to the testimony of a soldier who fought in Gaza.

Literature passed out to soldiers by the army’s rabbinate “had a clear message — we are the people of Israel, we came by a miracle to the land of Israel, God returned us to the land, now we need to struggle to get rid of the gentiles that are interfering with our conquest of the land,” the soldier told a forum of Gaza veterans in mid-February, just weeks after the conflict ended.

A transcript of the testimony given at an Israeli military academy at the Oranim college on Feb. 13 was obtained on Friday by McClatchy and also published in Haaretz, one of Israel’s leading dailies. The soldier, identified as “Ram,” a pseudonym to protect his identity, gave a scathing description of the atmosphere as the Israeli army went to war.

Thre truth is all religons are based on lies americans are on reservations and await for the colonization to wipe itself out in the means that, (example) all the brainwashed people that call themselves children of god whom have a right to some piece of land which infact has been proven a lie. Then the so called leaders here that are so called leaders that are for the america we all though are really invading for the zionist whom are in tye three branches of government here in what is the usa. Another example of that fact is the columbine killer, ira inhorn, son of sam, the list goes on and on …are not executed as malvo will be and others because they snapped. Even with the hassan guy made a patsy (did not have that many clips to injure 42 people and military still covered it up and made a story simply because they need to have support for the things they do..which are for israel and no one else, iraq and afganistan the same, there is nothing to prove otherwise simply because of the people behind the benefits of these atroscities and lies put forth to enrage wrongfully and commit more of the same. The government which is made of zionist now want to make manditory health insurance and the credit cards and banks…well common..if it smells like poop and looks like poop and came out of the butt well it is just that. Don’t bother with the international criminal courts or un they are part of the cue as well and don’t forget the machine that daily dumbs down what is left of mindless people whom just take what is said as facts without so much as checking it out in the first place. There is no god is was all a lie which needed others that would not go along to have their own brands too..christianity jewish muslim and others, all lies to keep the people in check.

  29. As a non-Jew aware that the belief of Orthodox Jews was that the messiah would rule the world from Jerusalem, I am very disturbed by this. Jewish supremacy very evident in the Torah/Old Testament where thousands of non Jews are always getting smitten by their psychopathic God is a major concern not only because Israel is an unstable country with Nuclear weapons, but their hatred for the rest of humanity will cause a backlash. But this time the evidence will show their were clear and present dangers, and the rest of mankind had to act to save itself. This article will be exhibit number one. The cause of anti-semitism has always rested in this Jewish Supremacist fear, it is why Emperor Constantine would not allow Jews into the rebuilt Jerusalem in the 4th century. The memory of what Titus had to do in AD70, and what the Emperor in AD135 had to do was ingrained his psyche… and he could not allow it to happen again. My children are Jewish and this supremacist nonsense very dangerous long term implications
